Dude Mortal Kombat 1 is making me care about characters I didn't five a damn about in previous games (Raiden, Kung Lao, Mileena, Baraka, and so on) in fact they're my favorite characters in the story. Bravo Ed Boon/NetherRealm, bravo.

I have to say that Raiden as Earthrealm Champion is a Great Change for this Character, however I can’t be the Only One who believes this Tournament felt Short and that the Main Roster needed more Characters if they wanted to expand the Story, then again I’m curious about this New Romance between Raiden and Kitana.
Honestly I think some of the characters are already pretty heavily underutilized. I'd rather expand on those characters before worrying about adding more.
People are speculating that Quan chi and shang tsung were supposed to be in the main roster since they are very prevalent in the story mode but some higher-up mandated that they should be dlc
@@MrLachapell I don't think it was a higher ups decision, rather the team couldn't finish the characters assets in time for the planned release date. Quan chi and Emacs movesets in story mode are incomplete and built on rips of characters from mk11. They're gonna have complete overhauls when they actually get released.

While I find the the idea of a young and mortal Raiden interesting... I don't want to see a clone of Liu kang.... Make him his own character
This Raiden litterally use the lines Liu kang used in MK9.

The Tournament became an Olympic event compared to the death matches we saw in the past timeline eras. Liu Kang states that the realms respect each other for their strengths and prowess in combat during the tournaments. The tournaments are done differently based on the host realm's rules and here we see Outworld makes the rule of one Earthrealm champion vs. all of Outworld's champions (The First Constable of Sun-Do, Outworld's military commanders, Outworld's crown princess/prince, and Outworld's General). Also, Sindel does not want an Endless War with Earthrealm because she knows Earthrealm is very capable of defending itself and its technology is far superior compared to Outworld's. In fact, the MKX comics revealed that Kano used a nuke gun to wipe out more than half of a Shokan army. In addition, Earthrealm's special forces managed to defeat Netherrealm in one day with little help from Raiden. MKX made Earthrealm a force to be reckoned with and I hope we will see that in Jax and Kenshi's Outworld Intelligence Agency.

Here is my rework of this tournament of this awful tournament of Raiden beating up a bunch of jobbers. And I love how they try to justify how garbage the tournament was beforehand like, no. Here is a real tournament with a real bracket:
Earthrealm: Raiden, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Kenshi
Outworld: Shao, Mileena/Kitana, Li Mei, Reiko
Round 1-
Raiden vs Li Mei - Raiden
Kung Lao vs Reiko - Kung Lao
Johnny vs Mileena - Mileena
Kenshi vs Shao - Shao
Round 2-
Mileena gotta poo so Kitana steps in
Raiden vs Kitana - Raiden
Kung Lao vs Shao - Shao
Final Round-
Raiden vs Shao - Raiden
There. Cannot say this wouldn’t be better. Same characters but everyone gets to fight and some Outworlders get to win battles. Sucks some characters like Kenshi and Reiko still job but that’s the business. And see what I did there? I gave Mileena a win which both works for and against her case as heir as she won a tournament bout but was not able to continue and maybe had she been able, Outworld would have won. Who knows? But the best ability is availability and she was not. Sucks about my favorite character, Kitana tho. Even in my version she loses and actually appears weaker since Mileena did win a round, but it’s whatever lol. At least she loses to the champion. I could swap Shao and Kitana in round 2 since Shao already won a fight so it’s Raiden and Kitana in the final round
