A VERY rough estimate haha, but wouldn't surprise me if it was at or around that!
All you have to do is launch a successful music and social media career and you'll have it. Easy as that! 😅

I'm a long-term Legoer, an AFOL, and a digital minimalist. As such, I find it really sad that Lego is going for the gaming market, and not just sticking with what it does best - little plastic bricks that children and adults alike can click together, and make art with. And so, to all the Lego fans reading this, I have one more thing to say: go, turn off your phone and computer, pick up your bricks, and create something magical. Merry Christmas 🎄, Happy Hanukkah 🕎 (or whatever you celebrate this time of year) - and may 2025 bring all the joy, creativity, and love that you want.

Time and time again, LEGO has tried to get into the digital market by integrating its products into the digital world. Whether it's the various LEGO video games, or sets that pair with digital products (Hidden Side, the Mario sets, Fortnite, and I'm sure many others).
While I understand their goal with this (reach the untapped market of kids that can't get their face out of their phones), I definitely agree with you that LEGO has always been an ESCAPE from the technology. For instance, when they created the poll that they would be dropping physical instructions for digital-only, the outcry was enormous! And it forced them to issue an immediate, albeit indirect, retraction.
I'm sure they are attempting to ultimately push people towards the physical bricks, but I am unsure how this new venture will successfully do that. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and wish you the best in 2025 as well! Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts 🙏🏻

@cpafol in truth, I kinda agree with a digital OPTION for instructions. I use the app all the time for MOCs (I like to integrate sub-assemblies into my builds). However, as you say, it was always an escape from a tech-based world, and I hope it stays that way. Happy New Year! 🎊

As I mentioned in another comment, LEGO has largely relied on singular events in each decade to propel it into the next decade, otherwise it likely would not be nearly as big as it is today. In the 2000s it was BIONICLE, 2010s the LEGO Movie, and 2020s the Pandemic.
In my opinion, LEGO is still looking for that successful digital companion product to largely increase sales to its products to help it remain relevant. Could this be it to help keep LEGO relevant for another 10 years? I'm not so sure, but they have put literally 1 BILLION DOLLARS into this Epic Games collaboration so they certainly believe it will be successful.
As LEGO continues to outprice many consumers, only time will tell if any of my ramblings have any relevance, or if they will continue to do just fine. If we see LEGO make less revenue in 2024 than in years past, I think it may indicate some concerns.

@@StudCity That's a pretty good summary for my thoughts on this new LEGO/Epic venture 😅
We'll see how it pans out as only time will tell!

Intresting that lego is according this video going after the highly oversaturated gen z market. Personally if I were lego I would be going after gen alpha as gen z is currently in the stage of finishing high school/entering the work force (I'm about 1 year away from finishing uni and am currently doing a 8-5 internship)

I would certainly agree with you there! While I only have minimal anecdotal evidence and very little hard evidence otherwise, it seems like most kids that age only enjoy LEGO from the random gift from Grandma, or their parents being fans of LEGO and almost "forcing" it upon them (I'm sure that will be me one day!).
Otherwise, that will have to be, and has always been, the main cause of LEGO's success over the years. As I've mentioned elsewhere, only time will tell if LEGO's plans will show fruitful or if they have to go onto the next one!

Also it isn't the new face of lego... It's just the logicsl next step for KLego fortnight... Like open world adabvature games have always been some iof the most successful and popular Lego games... From Lego island which predated GTA and rapped up around the same time as the GTQA 3D trilogy did... AlsoLego GTA has been done before with Lego under cover... So I really don't get why any would think this new gamemode for Lego Fortnight is abig deal... Other then we have another return from a Lego genre that we raelyy get after Lego star wars saga the video game came out and TT lego games took over for really no reason...

LEGO is seeking to reach new audiences with this LEGO / Fortnite collaboration. For those people who find LEGO from this marketing promotion, Madison Beer WILL be the new face of LEGO as that is all they will ever know of LEGO.
Also, trying to put any LEGO game on the same level as GTA is an absurd thing to do. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who did it first, it matters who did it BEST. Regardless, even if you think I'm improper in calling it a GTA clone, all the marketing has already done that for me. It literally uses the same font as the GTA logo as well as the same aesthetic from the Vice City logo.
I don't see Brick Life doing any better than the original LEGO Fortnite did. Maybe a little pop, then back to normal amounts. Once LEGO allows Fortnite to do Battle Royale with LEGO characters shooting each other in the most iconic mode, then maybe we'll see a true resurgence.

Ah yes Fort night need to keep the world single most profitable toy compony and toy line afloat... Like my guy Lego makes the same kind of money as the latgest US companys... But is a EU company... So yeah nomatter the matric Lego is doing insane well... Espelcy with the insanse p[rofit t makes that Microsoft just can't because the ingusttry' MS is in won't allow it... Lego's industry does... So yeah if Lego is failing the world would then be a the brink of major colapse... Like seriusly yyou used to be a factuallyt great tuber and you channel is based po n that... What is this nonsense?

I'm having a tough time reading your comment because of lots of grammatical and spelling errors.
Regardless, each decade for the past 3 decades, LEGO has had a major event that has kept it relevant. 2000s: BIONICLE, 2010s: the LEGO Movie, 2020s: the Pandemic.
LEGO is becoming extremely bloated with parts and sets that it could cause some unhealthy results, and it's still looking for that next thing to reach new kids and take it into the next decade. We'll see what it can find.
As far as your comments on my channel, your opinion is welcomed! But this is simply a side hobby for me, and I make videos about whatever I choose. I saw this news and wanted to share my opinion as you have just shared yours.
      And we carry on.
