Bridget, I like how you tried something new by using Google slides, but you kept it streamlined and super-focused on your learning target. I agree with you that it is better to slow down a little and make sure our students truly understand rather than piling on too many concepts in one lesson. I especially liked your sea turtle sort with just the right amount of challenge. Thank you, as always, for sharing your teaching strategies! You are awesome! Enjoy the week ahead! 😊
Mandy, thank you so much! I’m so happy you enjoyed the video. I’ve been enjoying Google Slides and I look forward to continuing to give these a shot 😅 it’s definitely outside of my comfort zone. So we shall see! 😂
Love this video. I really like seeing your process. I really really like how you mentioned using what your students know when using resources or outside products. So important.
Love using Google slides. We just recently got upgraded to a Promethean board but before I presented on my dry erase board. I would just fill in the organizers on the board or the kids would use sticky notes to share their answer. I also used sentence strips when needed. Love the way you structure your scaffolding. Thank you!
6:20 I love those octagons on your Black Board. I will be honest I am a 2000s baby and I have never really seen a Blackboard until you got into your new classroom.
Bridget, I love your videos!!! This was so helpful and insightful! Thank you!!!! I have been binge-watching your videos recently. This next school year will be my first year teaching, and I will be teaching 4th grade. The curriculum we use for ELA is Wit & Wisdom and I feel so overwhelmed by it. Do you have any experience with Wit & Wisdom? I have been starting to make slides for each lesson so I can stay on track but it feels like so much to pack into an hour and 20 minutes. Also, this will be my students' first experience with this curriculum because at my school they use Amplify until 3rd grade and then switch to W&W in 4th. Any ideas, advice, tools, etc. that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
I like your presentation. Using Google slides looks creative and I am just getting started lol. Overall, I enjoyed watching and will be implementing from your video. Thanks.
There are parts that I love about this school and parts that I miss. It’s a new chapter in my life and I am fully aware that nothing is perfect no matter what school I go to. It is easier to plan one lesson versus what I was doing with MAC but I LOVED the ability to have kids for 3 years! They grew so much during that time!
It's kinda sad that to get 100% students have to exceed their current grade level. I've seen that in other schools and other states using DE, ME, EE as well. Why are we doing that to children and making them feel like they didn't succeed when they met the standard for their grade.
I feel the same way about my morning message!!!
😅 Glad to know I’m not the only one!

Does your district follow any particular program for ELA? Such as Heinemann Teacher's Collage, HMH Into reading/writing, W&W etc?
Great video! I love how you break it down !!! Did you try an allen wrench on that desk? 😊

Great video!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the lovely feedback. ☺️
Do you like your new job better? It looks like it's easier to have 1 class instead of the other model.
