Cape Town’s buildings, and the energy used in them, are the largest contributors to our greenhouse gas emissions. This is why buildings are at the heart of our climate action. To reach our target of carbon neutrality by 2050, we need to make all new buildings net zero carbon by 2030 and all existing and municipal buildings net zero carbon by 2050.
