Love It WatchMojo.
Best film critic on UA-cam!
Cillian Murphy for Peaky blinders and Peter Dinklage for Tyrion Lannister. Ho stupid can you guys be?
😊😊😊😊😊
Why delete my comment WatchMojo?
No mention of Cillian Murphy in peaky blinders or Damson Idris in snowfall is crazy
bro half of the non english people didn't even understand the plot of peaky blinders and that's the reason popularity of peaky came down after season 2...just a confined story of old birmingham...even Green Street Movies are better than peaky.
Yet Regina King in the horrible Watchmen is here?
Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock?
All of these performances are awesome, but my personal favorite is Anthony Starr’s performance as Homelander. The way he can transition from kind and approachable to deadly and psychopathic in the blink of an eye is just so damn cool, and that’s what makes him one of my favorite actors from The Boys
I never knew he was New Zealander until I saw an interview. I was blown away. I thought he was from Iowa or Ohio or Idaho. His American accent is impeccable.
I spent the entire first season thinking he was from like Minnesota or wherever.
It never occurred to me he was not American.
@@Scott_Forsell that just shows how good his acting is
@joshuamohlman
I had the exact same thing happen years earlier with Karl Urban. Never knew he was a kiwi until I heard his natural accent. He can absolutely nail a general American accent, or a regional one. He fooled me. I thought he was an American for years.
And then Urban and Starr appear in the same show. NZ'ers getting it done!
@@Scott_Forsell word
Bob odenkirk role as Saul Goodman brings comedy to a tragic story
Breaking Bad was nominated 58 & won 16 Emmys while Better Call Saul was nominated 53 times and that’s all not a single win
Travesty
Do Emmy’s determine how great a show is, or does the reaction of the audience as a whole? Emmys aren’t decided by viewers
@@santiagodunbar2381 Better Call Saul is one if the most critically acclaimed shows of all time, it should have at least one emmy during it's run.
Deserved imo
Bob Odenkirk publicly stated that he almost died of a heart attack caused by his refusal to follow his doctor's wise medical advise because said physician was a conservative.
Oh c’mon i know it was just one season but Paddy Considine as King Viserys was pure perfection. Also Hamish Linklater as Father Paul from Midnight Mass was amazing.
I don't disagree, PC owned that role, but in the ASOIAF media universe, Lena Heady is an absolute goddess. I didn't give the Emmys a lot of weight before GoT, but their failure to honor her work has rendered them meaningless in my eyes.
Bob Odenkirk never winning an Emmy for Better Call Saul is one of the great tragedies in TV history. Rhea Seehorn not winning an Emmy for one of the great portrayals of a female TV character ever is right up there too.
Having only known Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones, her performance as Rue brought to life the real conflict with drug abuse in _Euphoria._ Not even Hunter Schafer’s Jules could break through. You don’t forget a scene like the failed intervention.
Bob Odenkirk finally getting the recognition he deserves. Everything about Better Call Saul was overlooked by Emmy for all those years. Had the PERFECT final scene and, IMHO was better than Breaking Bad
Clair Foy - the crown
Peter Dinklage - Game of Thrones
Jarred Harris - Chernoybl
Thank you those where some of the names i would put in my top 20.
Lena Heady.
If you ever need proof that Emmys are a complete joke, just look at BCS. Best show I've ever seen with some of the best performances I've ever seen in media. Rhea Seehorn's Kim Wexler is arguably the best written and acted female character I've ever seen grace a screen. Bob, Michael, Banks, Fabian, etc should be held at the highest standard for what an actor can give to a role. Then on top of that you have some of the best cinematography in the business. Plot, story, writing whatever that doesn't hold the viewers hand.
This is my hill and I'm sticking to it but BCS is better than Breaking Bad, and BB is near perfect
I couldn't agree more
Not to mention Game of Thrones seasons 7 and 8 winning Best Drama when both were universally hated lol
Julia Garner never gets enough love for her supporting role as Ruth Langmore in Ozark. She seemed like garden variety hillbilly criminal in the beginning, but she added so many more layers as the show progressed.
She has 3 emmys and a golden globe and a ton of nominations.
what do you mean not enough love. She won a bunch of awards for it. More than any other actor on the show.
Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy and Matthew McFadyen as Tom Wambsgams are my two favorite performances of the decade I think.
Hello how are you doing? What’s your occupation and hope your family are in good health conditions
Best performances I've seen in TV series this decade were in Season One of True Detective & also the excellent mini-series The Virtues with Stephen Graham. Both shows were two of the finest dramas I've ever seen.
Here are my Top 3 of Last Decade:
1. Bob Odenkirk for Better Caul Saul
2. Mathew McConaughey for True Detective
3. Rami Malek for Mr. Robot
Special Mention to Cillian Murphy too for Peaky Blinders.
Great picks. All in my top 5 too
Cool bro.@@barry4649
Jeremy Strong is the heart of Succession!
Hello how are you doing? What’s your occupation and hope your family are in good health conditions
Walton Goggins - Boyd Crowder
Timothy Olyphant - Raylan Givens
Their dynamic is probably one od the best in television.
Hello how are you doing? What’s your occupation and hope your family are in good health conditions
Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy is the stuff of legend
Saul is an icon
I'd put Jonathan Banks on the list too.
I’m still in disbelief no one got an Emmy for Saul
Saul is an icon
Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok not being listed here is criminal
I'm glad Mr.Robot got a shout out that was one of the few shows I could actually remember really waiting week by week for new episodes.
In succession, the scene where Kendall cries in front of Shiv makes me cry too cause of performance of Jeremy Strong. Great job in that episode
Anthony Starr should be number one
I am really glad to see Negan here
Jdm doesn’t get enough love for that role
The idea that Negan gets the recognition he deserves on the list but Rick Grimes doesn’t is insane.
Both iconic performances but Andrew Lincoln deserves to be on this list for his pure acting range.
Claire Foy as Elizabeth II in The Crown deserved a spot on this list
Bela Ramsey is am amazing actress but I wasn't sold on her playing Ellie.
I wasn't sold until I saw her performance. She didn't have the right look to me at first, but the personality was perfect.
Antony Starr should be higher
Laura linney in Ozark is one of the best performance I saw in any webseries..... sadly she didn't get much recognition for her portrayal as Wendy Byrde ....she played such a complex role and made us feel every pain , anxiety, emotion of Wendy ❤️
OMG YES!! She is my favorite female performance of the decade. I was expecting seeing her in the top, criminally underrated. I still cannot believe she didn't win that emmy for the 3rd season.
Billy Bob Thornton in Fargo Season 1 should have been on this!
I Love Fargo!
Personal List:
1. Dominique Fishback - Swarm
2. Jeremy Strong - Succession
3. Sarah Snook - Succession
4. Clair Foy - The Crown
5. Brian Cox - Succession
6. Kieran Cullen - Succession
7. Viola Davis - HTGAWM
8. Zendaya - Euphoria
9. Lena Headley - GOT
10. Even Peters - Dahmer
Been a fan of Darren Criss since AVPM and Glee. Amazing to see live too.
Hello how are you doing? What’s your occupation and hope your family are in good health conditions
You picked the right Roy (and it WAS a tough choice)
I've been a fan of this channel for so long. I can't explain how glad I'm to see you put Bob at #1, he surely is the best!!!
Although Darren Criss did a great performance, for me the best performance of the ACS is Sarah Paulson a Marcia Clark. She was so wonderful no doubt why she won every possible award.
Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. She had perform as up to 8 different brilliantly realized characters in one episode! I'd like to see if any of the actors on this list could pull that off as well as she could.
Great list, just need a little polish.
Here is what is how it would look. (Only actors/actresses on of shows i have watched)
Only 1 pr show -- breakthrough role
20 - Riz Ahmed - The Night of
19 - Claire Foy - The Crown
18 - Bookem Woodbone - Fargo S2
17 - Bella Ramsay - TLOU
16 - Ali Wong - Beef
15 - Jeniffer Coolidge - The White Lotus
14 - Ayo Edebiri - The Bear
13 - Ambika Mod - This is going to Hurt
12 - Brian Tyree Henry - Atlanta
11 - Pheobe Waller-Bridge - Fleabag
10 - Jared Harris - Chernobyl
9 - Julia Garner - Ozark
8 - Anthony Starr - The Boys
7 - Rami Malek - Mr Robot
6 - Zendeya - Euphoria
5 - Bill Hader - Barry
4 - Jeremy Strong - Succesion
3 - Bob Odenkirk - Better Call Saul
2 - Carrie Coon - The Leftovers
1 - Matthew McConaughey - True Detective
I forgot Killing Eve :O
A worthy me memorable mention to Rhea Seahorn. She was outstanding as Kim Wexler
I’ve seen most of these on the list but Antony Star doesn’t get enough credit because of the genre but man when you watch his character, you fear for your life. You are distributed and scared. Great performance.
The Americans started in 2013 and 2018, so it's definitely eligible for this list. I kept waiting and wondered if you would include Keri Russell or Matthew Rhys. I can't believe you ignored them both.
Some other great performances that aren't here (but I never expected them to be, since these shows are constantly overlooked: Mackenzie Davis and Lee Pace in Halt and Catch Fire, Toby Stephens in Black Sails, and since miniseries are also included: Hamish Linklater in Midnight Mass.
Amazing what you can achieve once you put your mind to it🎉🎉
Anthony Starr started off playing twins in a great NZ show called ‘Outrageous Fortune’. If you like either version of Shameless you should definitely give it a try.
Thanks for remembering OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE. 😊 Loved Vans and Jethro. ❤❤
An American version with Virginia Madsen and David James Elliott did not succeed.
@@chazarcola7639 American remakes of comedies from other English-speaking countries tend to be poor. I can only think of about three exceptions. I loved Westside too - most people in the UK haven’t heard of either show… which is a real shame. Got to love Ted!
@@PhilT81
Teddy and his legendary wife Rita. 😂
All excellent performances and a testament to how many great ones there were that so many missed the cut, such as Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
Mads as Hannibal must be on here, Rami should be higher as well
Wow Amazing
Most people wouldn't even have seen it, but Amanda Peet's performance in 'Dirty John' is easily top 5 performances of not only the past decade, but of all time.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! On my list, Homelander is on the first spot. 🤣
Great list of Performers 🎭, I agree with all of them, but let's not forget about Sterling k brown as Randal Pearson in this is Us, especially that Memphis episode and the way his character progresses over the season, Top tier 👏
The Haunting of Hill House & Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, The Fall of the house of Usher
How did Matthew McConaughey as Rustin Cohle in True Detective Season 1 did not make this list? That's blasphemy!!!
Appreciate Darren Criss being on this list 👍👍
Sorry no.1 is definitely Paul Walter Hawser’s portrayal of Larry Hall - sublime ❤
Sharp objects - Amy Adams
Big little lies - Nicole Kidman
Maid - Margaret Qualley
TOTALLY
Midge the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!
My all time fav is Hailee Steinfeld from Dickinson series. God it's heaven and I'm super grateful tht I get to watch the series
Damson Idris as Franklin Saint in Snowfall
Then explain why Better Call Saul didn’t win a single Emmy?
Because the star publicly admitted that
he almost died of a heart attack when
he refused to listen to his doctor because said physician was a Trump supporter.
The Emmy's are just a bidding war. BCS stands on it's own but the majority of people who get to vote for an Emmy just see the single episode submitted plus marketing, something that BCS didn't pursue to the extent of others. BCS thrives on having seen the entire BB series and El Camino which requires too much investment.
YOU TUBE IS BLOCKING COMMENTS.
BE WARNED.
Jackie Gleason never won an Emmy for playing Ralph Kramden on the Honeymooners. He should have won. It was a very influential show and there are people that think that if he never won that he wasn't very good. That is hogwash.
I love Jeremy strong, but it should’ve been Matthew Macfadyen on this list.
I have to say, The Boys is a difficult show to watch because it is brutal in every aspect, but yes, Antony Starr does an amazing job, sometimes I can’t even watch his face while others I find myself amazed almost drawn to the screen.
Darren Criss is a monster! What he did as Andrew Cunnanan was sooooo good!!
Elizabeth Moss is sooo good! Sometimes I wanna punch her in the face, others I cry so bad for her, others I’m so happy or satisfied, she can make you feel anything!
JDM makes you hate him with all of you, I’ve never felt so much hate for a character, it was a shock for me ‘cause I saw him in Grey’s Anatomy and Supernatural and I loved him so much and in TWD he was the worst. It amazes me how, in the last seasons of TWD you can see so much pain on his eyes, he is a master.
Zendaya really blew my mind in Euphoria. She’s the reason why I started and kept watching the show because I don’t like these kind of stories, but her acting is superb. From this list, she is my favorite
My only complaint with this list is that Peter Dinklage is not here, his role in GOT was legendary
In the end, I’d say Matthew Macfadyen’s performance in seasons 3 and 4 rose above Jeremy Strong’s chops.
Joe and Love from "You" should be here
brian tyree henry shows so much emotion with so little at all, he’s so talented.
Where is Walter White ?
Where is Tyrion Lannister ?
Where is Sherlock Holmes ?
Where is Sheldon Cooper ?
Where is Thomas Shelby ?
Where is Rust Chole ?
Where is Terry Silver ???
Should’ve had Emilia Clarke as Daenerys
The could probably find a place for a GOT role. But I think there are better ones than Emilia Clarke.
She's not even the best actress in her own show😂
Euphoria had/has all sorts of great performances: Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Hunter Schaefer even Alanna Ubach and briefly Paula Marshall in supporting roles.
Honorable mentions:
Clarie Foy as Queen Elizabeth II
Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh from Killing Eve
There were plenty, performances from Ozark, Breaking Bad, This is Us and plenty more. One show that gets overlooked is American Crime that came on channel 7ABC.
Sterling in this is us, Nico in p valley, Titus in unbreakable, Omari power, issa insecure
HBO's THE LEFTOVERS was a friggin acting olympic arena! Justin Theroux! Carrie Coon! Amy Brenneman! Christopher Eccleston! Regina King! Liv Tyler! Kevin Carroll!
cillian murphy in peaky blinders
What about Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black? She plays multiple characters and you forget she plays them all.
BCS/BB are unsurpassable GOATs. Negans arc is what made the walking dead good again. The leftovers was amazing. JD Pardo as Ez Reyes in Mayans Mc should’ve been on here. Rhea Seehorn should’ve won every award in existence for her role in BCS.
Great list but it should be bigger because there are other outstanding performances in TV shows of the last decade. Shows I also want to see are True Detective, Fargo, Stranger Things, Chernobyl and Ted Lasso.
jeremy strong is simply on another level
Agreed lad! 👍🏻😁❤️
FINALLY Rami Malek appreciation! His performance in the same league as Saul and Walter White performances❤
Hello how are you doing? What’s your occupation and hope your family are in good health conditions

@@MarthaWilliams-qj1gv ?
Absolutely
@alexbuchholz7072 That's great I'm a crypto currency trader do you love to earn some extra cash
We just ignoring Jon Hamm, Matthew McConaughey, Peter Dinklage, Billy Bob Thornton, Cilian Murphy and Kevin Spacey
Fleabag had one of the tightest casts I've ever seen in a show. Everyone was exceptional.
Twin Peaks the Return - another Lynch masterpiece with stellar performances all around.
I beg to differ, it was stretched out to 18 episodes, was meant to be about 10, had a bunch of ‘unrelated’ extra storylines that were painfully boring to watch. The only thing I loved was Laura Dern being revealed as Dianne. They mucked that up, tho.
I could list many other things it was criticized for
I love Kieran Culkin with all my heart, but Odenkirk being snubbed the Emmy broke my entire soul. BCS is by and large the greatest show of all time.
I love Rami Malek in Mr. Robot and Rachel Brosnahan as Maisel
See you forgot Kirsten Dunst in Fargo.
Scott Ryan as the smiling assassin Ray Shoesmith on the Australian crime/dark comedy show Mr Inbetween should have featured on this list.
Euphoria is one of the best series that involved zendeya
thanks for saul odenkirk
Better Call Saul is such a masterpiece
No one talks about the Hannibal series? This list desperatly needs a part 2.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio should definitely be on this list
How about Millie Bobby Brown for her portrayal of Eleven in Stranger Things? Plus Jason Sudeikis for his portrayal of Ted Lasso?
Franklin Saint in Snowfall.
Honorable mention should go to Sam Heughan in Outlander. Romantic leads are severely underappreciated & unacknowledged in TV & movies , particularly the men.
Zendaya’s performance in the episode when Rue becomes a fiend while withdrawing haunts me. She did an incredible job.
This is for those who deserve it 🎉
Me and my mom liked breaking bad and my brother told us we should watch better call Saul
Laurie Metcalf, several series. Alex Borstein The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
JD PARDO from the Mayans TV show he played EZ
Lead actor from "The Leftovers"
Peter Dinklage should be on that list. Surprised you added Darren Criss (he deserves the spot) and Anthony Starr (possibly not as The Boys is one of the underrated shows in the past decade) 😑
Overall I can agree with this list, but Jeremy Allen White from "The Bear" should be in it, IMO
No Cillian Murphy for Peaky Blinders? Very disappointing
Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso should be in here
