Agreed I will run a ford till I die I'm 24 so you can imagine fords will be old hopefully by then lol some of the best tractors all around ever built and I've used all the major brands
I can tell that you put plenty of work into that tractor and it looks 100 percent better also for it. You must love that tractor so much and enjoying the performance it gives you.
Thank you Sidney. I tried to buy the tractor for 4 or 5 years. It was sitting broke down at some horse stables that I maintained an arena for. The owner did not want to sell it until last year. Was a fun project. The reason it would not run turned out to be a faulty wire in the main harness. Once I figured that out I hit the key and it started right up. The fuel in it was 6 to 8 years old. Scared the crap out of me I was not expecting it to start was just trying to get it to turn over. I was lucky it was in neutral because I was standing next to it and had disconnected the neutral safety switch. The other main issue was the front axle spindle was rusted in place. Your right was a fun project. I plan to use it to pull my hay baler this spring
Faithfull Gamer. I just used Rustoleum X2 coat. That way l did not have to prime. Beware of that tho somebody on here commented that they had used the same and it faded bad after two years. He said l should have used clear coat to seal it better and prevent fading. I did not use clear coat. It is parked in the barn. Unless in use. And I'm not all that particular about the fading. Just another workhorse for me. But something you might consider when you paint yours. And of course you can always go with the regular tractor/auto paint. Thank you for the nice comment Ron.
Nice Job, I Just did this to my 335 I recently bought , came out great , but man it's a lot of work to do it right, I think its worth it though, the new tractors of the same HP would be so much money and much more complicated
Thank you Andrew. I agree new tractors are expensive. I use this one to do my hay. Has plenty of horse power to do it. I have a newer Branson tractor I use for my business. Less horse power but smaller in size enabling me to get into tight spots if needed. I agree a lot of work but worth it.
I can appreciate the amount of work that went into your Ford 4000. I am just finishing our 1975 Ford 4000 3 cyl diesel (no loader). I've spent many hours replacing/refurbishing parts, painting, fitting etc. Congratulations on a job well done.
2 days ago i just bought a ford 3000 diesel and I am working my way into it. Do you mind telling me about what you gave for your 4000 ... if you don't that is fine. :)
Sure no problem. The tractor had been sitting for 5 to 8 years, turned out the problem was bad wiring harness.Did not have a battery or Radiator I paid $1,800 for it put about $1,500.00 more into it to get it completed
here where i am in the southeast, 45 miles from atlanta, tractors get scoped up so fast. unless it's a pile of rusty metal you really have to pay a premium. I bought a running Ford 3000 with a factory ford loader, but it has a number of smaller problems and i looked for 2 months at least and drove just over the line into alabama and still had to pay $3000 ... but I don't think I will have to put more than $800 into it to get it in tip top shape! Much success to you!! I hope your 4000 gives you many years of hard work!! :)
You did good. The loader alone is worth that much. You will if you decide to sell make a good profit. I will be pulling a baler with mine this spring. Needed a little more HP for the Hessiton inline baler
Cool video I have the same tractor mine is broken to but it's because power steering leak and it has the hydraulic pump in the front and the bracket the holds it broken
Very nice job man. Makes me want to paint my own 4000 what way did you paint it. I'm looking to paint mine but it's a royal air force blue I'm looking for because our tractor worked at an airport for the royal air force
I have a 4000 D it’s a working tractor. A problem developed in the electrical system. Could have burned up the tractor. It’s at the NH dealer for the third time trying to find the problem. 3 regulators, new battery, alternator, starter and I used the tractor two days the last tim E it came back and the dash lights became goofy. Gen and oil light wouldn’t go out. Then when I turned the tractor off, within 5 minutes the alternator started smoking. Fortunately, I was near and smelled the smoke and unhooked the battery. Hope they solve the problem this time as it’s a very expensive problem. 😊if anyone has an idea, I would like to see them. Thanks
I am hoping you can tell me how your arena footing turned out. I have an arena with beach sand that I am considering buying the premier equestrian Arena Aid to add to it but am worried about spending all that money to find it doesn't mix well. I have yet to find any information about the product and specifically BEACH sand - were you guys happy with how it turned out?????
Hi Risa. Just saw yr question. The customer loves the footing material. She trains so arena gets lot of use. She just hand spread it and I came in and tilled it to mix it up. She had done a lot of prep work new sub footing rolled and compacted. Hope this helps you. Sorry for delay in responding
kd7rg Thank you, just curious as I am going to be looking for an older tractor in a few months. Do you mind sharing asking price and what you ended up paying?
POLOLOUS3 I paid $1,800.00 for the tractor. Put about $ 1,500 - $2000 into it. My main costs where hydraulic hoses 2 front tires, radiator, battery and parts for the right front spindle assembly that was rusted in place. Also not mentioned in above costs is the cuss words and beer to complete the job lol
Ford makes some of the best tractors, there will always be a ford on my farm

What model loader anyone think this is I have one looks just like it
Very nice job man. Makes me want to paint my own 4000 what way did you paint it. I'm looking to paint mine but it's a royal air force blue I'm looking for because our tractor worked at an airport for the royal air force
Can you give me any information about adding a loader to one of these tractors?
GOOD day Nice video of Ford, I think the loader is same as mine Dunham lear. Thanks
Kinda weird the way the hydraulics work on it have to switch between 3 point and loader
Can anyone tell me on a 1966 Ford 4000 gas tractor 3 cylinder gas what type of loader will work with down pressure
I want one!
lol
What loader is on this tractor I would like to find the exact one for my 4000.

It needs a cab though.
Q cab
Duncan cab
Lambourn cab
not really cabs don’t look right on these small tractors it makes them look goofy
Can anyone me where I can find the serial number?
Interesting
Is that a Guinea Fowl I can hear at 7:45?
Yep LOL I have a neighbor to thank for giving my wife these VERY very noisy birds
YOu only have to hear a guinea fowl once to know it is, you bet lol

Just subscribed, do you have a video of how you got the tractor? Private seller, auction etc?
Private seller. Sorry no video other then this one of me picking it up at his place.
kd7rg Thank you, just curious as I am going to be looking for an older tractor in a few months. Do you mind sharing asking price and what you ended up paying?

kd7rg Wow that's a great deal. Most I find are $2-3,000 but with seized motors. But with time and some asking around I will find a great deal.
Where is this? In UK?
No not in UK. In Oregon USA
Music is too loud. Needs to be more in background
Really? Maybe use your volumne control James
is that a factory hydraulic top link?
No. Standard screw type top link
