You also should get the kit. It comes with the new racing cdi, advanced ignition coil & a 3 electrode sparkplug it works great in my 125 quad & its not expensive
surprising to me that your piranha 140 is only hitting 48. i have an apollo 125 and it tops out at 53. im also 185-190 pounds. factory gearing, factory cdi, only thing i done is put an after market carb on as soon as i got it. looking for cheap ways to keep up with the 250's a little better.
@@slavsquad ur carb looks just like mine and I have the mikuni. Huge difference. My bike had about 40 pounds of compression and would barley start had it laying around put it on and it runs like a top now. I have parts coming right now for a whole new top end I also did the 17 tooth sprocket. Makes a difference. Was easily going 50 and it had super low compression.
Hi mine over reved I had a 45 rear sprocket and a 14 teeth front sprocket I put a 37 on rear and a 16 on front can go a lot more in gears and doesn't over rev if that's what you meant
Awesome vids man yeah I have the same blue cdi not sure it actually does much but on my 110 I tell myself it makes it faster haha gotta say Love the yx140’s can take a beating had most size engines but for the money you can’t fault them will last forever Not sure what size carb your running but if you went up in size you would get a faster top speed and I highly recommend using a z40 cam for your 140 Would actually work on your 125 aswell
Thank you! I used to tell myself it helps to haha but decided to actually test it because I was impressed with how fast the 125 was and I thought it was cuz of the cdi (it was originally in the 125) They do last a long time Once it finally decides it needs a top end I’ll probably try going with a high comp piston and maybe I’ll give that z40 cam a shot as well. For now I’m gonna change up the gearing and see what that does
Had bad experiences with that new racing cdi, it would get wet and not run properly, cold engine would misfire to the point where it would start to run fine and still lose power on steep hills
I had a red racing cdi and was getting up to 70mph on my 125cc grom clone but it eventually stop working and had to go back to my original so but I might get another
Yeah I’ve had many people with the same engine say they hit much more then 40mph but it all comes down to where you live and the elevation. Makes a big difference
I don’t really know to much about CDI. I always ran factory CDI. I did this video to test the 5 pin racing cdi and see the different vs factory. There are good brands you can get from Tbolt USA tho. I’d reach out to them via email or call and buy a cdi off them
What really makes a difference from what I’ve heard is the gearing ratio and making the bike lighter
Yeah like aluminum swingarm wheels ect
Cool bro. Congrats for the video
Can't wait to see more videos on the pitster pro man
I have the 155 h.o all tricked out its my pic lol thing is so fast and fun 🤣
You also should get the kit. It comes with the new racing cdi, advanced ignition coil & a 3 electrode sparkplug it works great in my 125 quad & its not expensive
What's did he put a link for us to get the kit where is it bud
You got a link?

It may have something to do with elevation. Are you on the east side?
@@slavsquad ahh that could be a possibility.. im in the chicago area.
@@ZRZ71 yeah I’m up in WA so I hear y’all over closer to east will be able to go faster. So maybe this engine will go much faster in your area
@@slavsquad interesting 🤔
I had a piranha 140cc engine on my big wheel m-125 coolster and it does 58mph
15t and 37t
Runs great
17 Front sprocket, 2 stage air filter, mikuni carb, 27.5 jet, the cdi box.... will make a crazy amount of difference
How much difference you think?

Yeah mines the factory mikuni. That’s awesome
@@slavsquad I have the Rfz40 (aka dbz40) 11hp stock. And it's technically a 55mph bike. Now it's way past that
@@jamesbriley8738 do a top speed. I’m curious!
i need a cheap CDI I can put on my lifan 125 it doesn't have a rev limiter and i feel like its overrevving
@Jack Song yeah I have no clue when it comes to wiring I’m terrible but I can buy a adapter that makes it to a 6 pin for the cdi and do it that way?
@Jack Song I have like 7 pound wiring kit of eBay so I dunno if I have that I do I?
@Jack Song yes the same as his

How has the reliability been on the 140? and what carb are you running
Running a factory carb
And been a solid engine so far
@@slavsquad 22mm carb?
@@RippinandfishinI got a 28mm and it’s a beast!
Do you have to change out your spark plug

I think the anodized blue adds another 10cc on top of whatever cc your bike already is hahaha
Definitely haha
Go up a tooth or two on your front sprocket for higher top speed.
Thanks! Someone told me last week about that. I got one with 2 more teeth in front and 4 less teeth in the back. So much better!
thanks save me some money
My 140 piranha in a crf50 is insanely quick but only hits about 40 mph bouncing off rev limiter in 4th... any ideas?
Try putting a 17t front sprocket and a 35 rear. Will get you probably 10mph more for pretty cheap. You’ll lose some low end torque with this tho
Bigger carb port more fuel more bang more powaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH
Bro 47 for a 140cc is bad my 70cc automatic mini pit hit 43mph stock on flat road
Yeah I’ve had many people with the same engine say they hit much more then 40mph but it all comes down to where you live and the elevation. Makes a big difference
I'm going to upgrade to the after market cdi. My stock cdi goes 1mph too fast!!
😂
What best cdi for 110cc

Is the cdi 5 or 4 pin
5 pin
Was it worth it to go 1mile an hr faster 🤦🏻
1mph slower lol
Lol
My stock 125 cayo hits 62mph
Those cdi are only for the rev limiter that’s it
You’re better off changing your sprockets
My cheap minibike does 50 uphills 😅
Put a 18T front sprocket on it. My 125 pit bike will do 62mph with the bigger sprocket
Yeah I put a 17 front and smaller rear. Now it goes 60
Nice one 🏍👍
It’s supposed to give you more low end torque 😂
🤷🏻♂️
It doesn't ,keep stock
Yeah it doesn’t help at all
