Thanks for the great revue. Just ordered one. Should be here tomorrow. I bought the Guild F1512e 12 string a few months ago and I love it, so I decided to get the 6 string version.
+Dan Glynn Thank you! I bought a 12-string Martin a couple of years ago and I'm really enjoying it. But had I not, no question I'd now go for the Guild. These new all solid wood guitars are a great value! If you end up posting a video of your guitars, let me know!
@@RickMcCargar I got my F-150 back around August 18th and I LOVE it! It's got excellent tone and it's built really, really well. I was wary of Chinese construction on ethical considerations alone, but this guitar is built with care and precision and that jumbo body just booms!
Very kind of you to say, thank you. You could do me a great favor and download my version of Duane Allman's "Little Martha" from iTunes if you enjoyed this. Again, thank you! geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/little-martha/id1071580118?i=1071580119&at=10lrZu&app=itunes
SWEET! Would love to hear this guitar in person! One of these days when I won't be embarrassed to play in front of somebody. We got to get together and play. I got Strats, Teles and 1 Les Paul. Also a Martin and an Ibanez acoustic. God, I am still a beginner and have too many guitars. No scratch that, you never have too many guitars. I want a Bass to noodle and a descent nylon string
+nursetom61 Right on Tom! No such thing as too many guitars. Maybe too little space, but not too much gear! Only one way to get over playing with/in-front of people....is to do it. People are usually pretty cool about it because we're all really amateurs compared to good guitarists. I'm thinking about a baritone guitar. Love the sound and the range, would be better for my vocal range too.
I am looking for a Guild GAD50 (all solid spruce Rosewood) or a JF30(Allsolid spruce Maple), both excellent guitars, but very difficult to find in Europe. Both those mentioned models were phased out and the new ones are not that good I feel tonally
Your Guild F-150 CE sounds gorgeous, esp'straight out of the box! Did the store do a set up for you? Wonder if they sell this model in the UK, where i am? Great playing too by the way, really enjoyed it, thank you.
I treated myself to one for Christmas, really enjoy paying it. To be honest I didn't know much about Guild until I got one, not the smartest way to buy a guitar I guess I got lucky.
I saw your videos with very pleasure.Mi really like this guitar. I would buy this guitar but no cutaway. You know that even if no cutaway may be binding on the fingerboard? In the photographs of the official website Guild, the F 150 no cutaway binding on the fingerboard is not seen. If you've been wanting to talk to me about this guitar, to tell me how it sounds, as you are, and how much you paid, I thank you. Sorry for my bad English. Greetings from Italy.
+ClaudioFiammenghi Thank you and greetings from Virginia USA! The guitar does have binding along the fret-board. So far, I'm really enjoying this guitar. Over the years I've been lucky to own quite a few really nice acoustic guitars, but they were also more than three times as expensive as this guitar. Just last week I re-played "Little Martha" by Duane Allman and submitted it to iTunes. It should be up sometime in the next week, but you can hear it here: soundcloud.com/rickmccargar/little-martha-by-rick-mccargar If you listen to that you will note that the guitar is starting to mellow a little bit from when I first received it. I think the original strings were just a bit too bright. I paid about $950 USD including the case, and bought it from MusicStoreLive.com on sale. I am very happy with this guitar. Hope that answers your questions. Best, Rick
I had one. They discontinued that when they came out with this....the old model had too many problems so they rebuilt it and left off the block inlays but made a better guitar.
I know this video is a bit aged, but to anyone considering one of the Guild guitars of this series, understand that the strings they come equipped with are very poor. I bought this same model, and I thought it was good for the price, maybe not as live as I might like, so put a set of nice Martin 12's on there, and it was like night and day. Mine is really live and sharp with good bass response. If you are playing one in the store, It won't sound anywhere near as good as it will when you get it home and put quality strings on it. Guild is really making a mistake by doing this. These things would sell like hotcakes if they had the good strings on them right off the showroom wall. They are really a great value.
Stock strings are terrible, though. Anybody who buys should change right away. With quality strings, it's at least as good as most of the similar Taylors costing nearly 3x as much.
reviera paradise is one the first jazz songs i fell in love with !
Great song!
Bought the F - 150 yesterday, I really love it
If you post a video, let me know!

Your playing is excellent, can listen to this all day long, Guilds are especially good for strumming as they have excellent string to string balance

+nursetom61 Really appreciate you doing that Tom, thank you!

Did you check out reverb dot com? reverb.com/marketplace?query=Guild+gad50

Thanks. I do my own setups because the stores don't know how I want them done. Have a good one.
Скажите кто знает этот гитара Guild F-150CЕ лучше по звучанию чем Taylor 214ce?
Great Stuff Rick. May I ask what that first song was. I recognize it but for the life of me can't remember the name! Thanks
+Mick Levanon Thank you Mark! The first part I played was a bit of Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Riviera Paradise".
What was the opening chord progression? Maybe a lesson on it? :)
That is Riviera Paradise by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Probably a lot of lessons for it already up on the web. Let me know if you can't find something.
Ok thanx :)

Wonder what happened with cool block inlays on this eras model, you can see some on ebay.
I had one. They discontinued that when they came out with this....the old model had too many problems so they rebuilt it and left off the block inlays but made a better guitar.
the F150RCE has the black inlays this is the F150CE

Almost three years later the top has opened up and sounds amazing. This guitar has the tone of a piano. Rich and vibrant.
Je possède cette guitare 👌
Good for you
Maybe its the mike, but I am not hearing any warmth tone in the 150CE. Maybe the strings needs to be changed.
It was a brand new guitar with brand new strings. What you are hearing is the result of the fact I was picking near the bridge.
Stock strings are terrible, though. Anybody who buys should change right away. With quality strings, it's at least as good as most of the similar Taylors costing nearly 3x as much.
