- It’s been a while since I’ve edited my favourite character in The Walking Dead and just in general. I tried to make this edit as dark as possible for Rick Grimes. Instead of going with the usual action sequence with kills on the beat I focused a lot more on the power of speech and showing certain scenes a bit longer than just quick cuts. It was a lot of fun to work like this for a change and I hope you all enjoy this editing style too.
“I’m not the good guy anymore” is one of the most important quotes of Ricky and perhaps even the most important. It’s so pivotal for his entire story arc going into season 3 and further where he is the darkest (my favourite). That’s why I used a picture of season 3 Rick for the thumbnail with this text. The original text was “this isn’t a democracy anymore”, which is cool too. But it’s less significant in my opinion and I focused less on leadership in this particular video. I made the text "the good guy"white on purpose while leaving the rest stained in red to create some sort of tainted by blood vibe. The good guy, he isn't anymore.
The music is a remix of In the House in a Heartbeat by Ariesys. Original soundtrack by John Murphy.
The Music had a perfect build up and menacing tone that allowed for a powerful yet sinister tribute for our favourite ex-sheriff.

The beauty of the storyline where rick basically becomes Shane as soon as he takes that knife out and pierces his heart is something in tv and movie history that can’t be matched and is so amazing. @UXD_duppers This is an amazing way of putting it. When Rick has his hallucination with Shane I feel like it shows this storyline so well. This show is great.

I miss Shane
While I like a darker rick, I wished that he hadn’t gotten so cocky about it in season 6. Mid-Season 4 to Season 5 is my favorite of the WD due to Rick just becoming a savage.

I like seeing the dark side of rick not just what he's overcome but the craziness he really has but even at his darkest it's not just his survival it's about his group making it
Rick is as real as it gets. I doubt we ever see another leader cut from the same cloth starting out with a little town group leading them into the devils den. They become warriors, leaders he was so loyal i just can't explain it if u haven't watched u have to theres no other explanation. He was just on a different level.
There's very few characters in media who have a prescence quite like Rich Grimes.
And now he's gone, the show feels so different...

Seriously mid season 4 to season 5 Rick is a goddamned savage. No nonsense, ruthless, cold blooded, calm dominant leadership style. Telling people how things will if they don't listen to him and then just letting situations happen(turning everything to shit) becoming last person to be able to solve it and seizing power.
Rick's story and character progression is incredible. he went from "officer friendly" to a mass murderer and cold blooded killer with eyes like daggers, all for the sake of those he loves and protects. it's a shame Andrew had to leave the show, his character really was the heart of TWD and it's not same without him.

It's interesting how much his character changed as the series went on. Went from being all nice and soft to more aggressive and brutal.
In this world of chaos there is a so thin line beetween the good and the bad. Shane, Governor, Gareth and Negan all of them were normals/goods guys before but the apocalypse zombie take the best part of them and make them lost their mind. Rick too sometimes, could be a hero and a monster.

Phenomenal edit! It seems like no matter what the crew endures, somehow someway history continues to repeat itself. Rick is constantly stuck between being the good guy and a monster.

Thing is, Rick was always the good guy. Sometimes the lines just arent that clear, especially not in a world like this, but he never crossed it and became something else. He just didnt hold back when protecting his family and friends, and kept surrounding himself by good people. He even influenced those around him to become better and stronger.
In ssn 10 and 11 u can *see* so much of Rick in the others, especially Gabriel & Carol, just to name a few.
Best character in any TV show I've ever seen.

As much as I love Daryl, Rick will always be my favorite character. As dark as Rick goes, you can never question that he loves his family and would do anything for them.
I also love having a MC that isn’t a hero, not really a villain, but morally gray that is fluid depending on the situation.

I remember when The Walking Dead was a great show with a small fan base and the stories and charcter development was better than any other show. When I was a kid and watching this weekly every October, November then February I think it was. I'm still watching it. But it's sad how downhill it's gotten and characters that aren't likable or developed and are forced upon you. I wish i could go back ten years and watch it all again.

The thing that makes Rick different, even when he gets to the point of enjoying killing he always reigns himself back in. He keeps a small part of who he was so his kids don't turn into Negan's, Governor's or Shane.
