@@Jaywrapstarwhere do you order you vinyl wrap ? I have a couple of weeks off from work and would I like to practice on my second car as a new hobby. Do you know of any good cheap vinyl that I could start off with
My father used to say: 'To reach the next level, you have to make mistakes. Otherwise, you stay at the same level!'. He was damn right. I learned a lot by making mistakes. Good luck brother and sister, Nico.
the knifeless tape works if you use it twice on every line, so lay 1 piece down cut with tape lay more tape then the next layer of vinyl and cut again! XD which overlaps the vinyl :)
Always fun to watch the newbies try wrapping, interesting watching u make the same mistakes I did in my career. A tip of my experience... wuda worked fine if u kept the car intact and yeah, the hood needed to be sanded and resprayed.
This reminds me of Eric the Car Guy posting a video of trying to bleed his brakes, and having so many issues. Only to find out he installed the calipers on the wrong side. He had a great message about how everyone makes mistakes, the key is to learn and do better next time. Keep grinding!
Every time I watch a car wrapping video, I'm like yeah, I'm still not convinced it will come out to my liking. That green colour looks really nice, I'm sure you both will get it done well before we see the 💪👕 again!🤣✌
Hahaha I am not a huge fan of wraps due to the amount of texture that you can see. But it is great for people who like to change the color of their car frequently
Its a lot easier to wrap the bumper on the car. Post heat the wrap before you use the tape so that there's no pull back. For the roof... you should knifeless tape once for the original underlay then add the tape over the underlay ( line it up ) then wrap over that and knifeless cut it again so that you have a smooth barely noticeable line.
you stated early in the the vid that the vinyl is designed to adhere to metal only, an then you did the side skirts. Does this mean that when and where ever you get a wrap done, the plastic pieces will pose premature issues vs the metal parts?
The vinyl is meant to stick to smooth surfaces, it doesn't have to be metal. But we did wrap the nose panel that had the e-coat on it as well as the front bumper that was not painted. I am curious to see how these parts will hold up over time.
Hey really enjoyed the video, so much that i watched it twice. I know its been a year but updates on how the vinyl held up, also can you share the link to where you bought your vinyl roll ?
Looks like you're going this route; but the most logical (IMHO) thing to do with the hood is sand and paint "good enough" to the point the paint is smooth and properly adhered. Just a good rattle can job and that's that. BTW, braver than I am; no way in hell I'd try wrapping a car!
Unfortunately I was most interested in the side skirts! How did you do the upper ending at the rubber seal? Looks quite clean on yours, but in the other hand the rubber as well as your base are both black. So that'll probably blend in easily.
As someone who wrapped their own E46 at home. You hit the nail on the head with every panel. The front bumper sucks. I did mine outside during a windy week. I did the prep the first 2 days and wrap the ther 5 days. I ordered my wrap from metro restyling.
@@ShopLifeTV yeah! It's held up pretty well so far! But there are spots that have come up. I ordered extra to be safe because of the shortages. I went with Magnetic burst blue from Avery.
Hey bro , what could you recommend I try for my 2000 323 e46 , as it’s a m52 auto and between 3 to 4 gear I will need to let off the gas or just gas through it for it to change as has a little trouble getting into the last gear , would usually be bang on around 80km per her also
hello hopefully someone reads this and can guide me in the right direction i have a e46 2000 5 speed blue sticker throttle body i keep going into eml and dsc limp mode and getting throttle body codes replaced with reman and then new oem reset the adaptations and still it goes into limp mode also replaced the IACV i checked the connector of the throttle body and it looks good checked my DME connectors also looked good I'm pretty helpless at this point.

Nice work, guys. Your first attempt appears to be going really well. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Thanks Rich! I am more curious to see how the wrap holds up with the various different surfaces and bad paint over this summer.

I’m with you on that. It will be interesting to learn the real world effects, down the road.
Man that was a great video!!! Just don't understand how anybody could abuse a car like this, especially an M3.

Yaw definitely motivated me good job

Thats awesome! Doing it outside must have been rough, I could only imagine the amount of debris that would get on the panels while wrapping lol!
