It is always fun to take defective aircraft parts apart, particularly if you did not have to pay for the replacement part because the old part was not from your airplane. Judging from the video, it looks like the major resistance was due to the worn contactor ring. It rotates and you could see some very thin contact areas on portions of the ring. My best souvenir is a $400 3 inch vacuum pipe elbow that attached to the vacuum pump on my O320 engine. I have it in my desk drawer and occasionally take it out to marvel at how expensive the new one was.
