If I can’t locate this machine as it seems no one has one for rent, will a dehumidifier work? I have laminate flooring in a rental and the master bathroom sink over flowed and water went everywhere. Look for another, just as good solution.
The hose connected to our refrigerator ice machine leaked. Water got under the laminate tiles and leaked right through the plywood joints through the sub-floor into the basement. When you walk on the floor, water comes up between the laminate joints. Stopped the leak, but wondering if I should remove all the clickable laminate, let the floor dry and install new. It's a small kitchen -- less than 100 sq. ft..
Dealing with this in multiple rooms. I lifted three rows in each room and removed trim to get fans to blow under the floor. The floor is essentially lifting up with the fan pressure will this be enough to dry do you think?
I live in Los Angeles California. We had weeks of rain in the beginning of the year which caused water damage to some areas of my home which is all laminate flooring. I'd say 5 feet by 5 feet in from 2 different walls is completely starting to bubble up. It's been a few weeks now and I haven't done anything about it since. I don't want the mold to spread, but I'm afraid it probably has by now. Any suggestions? And if replaced with tile instead of laminate, does that create a stronger barrier or can tile be ruined as well?
Tile is better for water, your laminate should be removed! Let me know if you have any other questions! This method is only used if you catch it right away!
If it’s been a week, will this still work and prevent mold? This happened on my first floor (slab foundation) in the bathroom (wax ring leak). Thinking of removing the floor boards to treat the water.
I use color caulk from Lowe’s depending on your floor color. The caulk is called Dynaflex. I also use PL3X glue for natural wood colored flooring, put tape over out first, then cut out the hole from the tape, then fill the hole then remove the tape.
Dude why would you not put in how to fill the hole? I will never understand you fix it guys leaving out huge chunks of info like us novices know anything about this stuff.
Bro, that floor needs to be removed, it has and foan underlayment not allowing it to dry properly. How do you check the moisture under the floor? How do you repair the wholes you just put in that flooring? This type of work is what you get when the insurance company sends you "their people" they come do cheap work get paid and the claim gets closed. And guess what you will have mold growing under your floor.
ok great, but who at home owns one? im just looking at how to fix the floor, lift it, and dry up the water. lol simple home owners method . not spending 1000's of dollars to a contractor.
Great tip!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge :)
Thank you sooooo much!
How do you know if you got all the water out? Do you need to drill a hole in every plank?

I would recommend some sort of inject dry system!
A dehumidifier doesn’t tend to dry underneath the floor.
Thanks for your support!
Talk to your local water damage companies and ask to rent or have them set up their inject dry unit!
Thanks for your valuable information!

My area is about 2 by 4 ft. Do you think it's possible that I could drill some holes and use a Shop-Vac to pull out the water?
Probably will still need to do this method after wards
Dealing with this now! What is this machine called? And how do you repair the holes?
Inject dry machine,
Talk to your local water damage company’s
Use tape with colored caulk or polyurethane glue for repair

I’ve ran small rods underneath with fans blowing under, it works if you do it right! Thanks for the comment!

If it's been a couple of days and in a bedroom, would it still work?
I wouldn’t recommend this method unless it is same day!
Did you have any issue with mold underneath afterwards?
If you do this properly and track the moisture you should not have mold afterwards!
Will this fix warped laminate?
It will dry warped laminate but typically when Laminate swells up it’ll never be the same again. Thank you for your support!

In a bathroom you might be better off pulling it up!
This video was helpful because my washer just flooded my floor. However what can I do to seal the holes afterwards???

Pull the floor and put fans on the subfloor.
Where do you get that tubing?
It comes with the system if you buy it however it’s similar to water tubing from Lowe’s or Home Depot.

I can’t find anywhere to rent one.
Talk to your local dry out companies and ask to rent theirs it’s cheaper than ripping it all out.
Thank you so much!
