Legend has it, that his toms still ring to this day.
🤣
Like they should
Brandon. That was awesome. More please. I am 67 years old and still learning new tricks from you young guys. The six stroke roll was never more exciting. I now gotta go practice. Thanks.
Ray Timms I am 58 totally blind and started drum lessons 1 1/2 months ago… Totally loving it!
@@butterflylady8875 wow.. I thought it was me.. but total respect to u.. drum really make my day shining from morning back to morning again.. this Lockdown really give me chances to know more about drum..
personaepikTV it feels so magnificent to follow your heart… I wanted to take lessons when I was about 14 although my parents vetoed that idea… Never thought much about it over the years until I had a dream in January 2020 and started lessons February 12… Went to the music store to buy a practice pad and ended up with an acoustic kit… Much more fun on the kit LOL… Hats off to you as well for following your dreams👏🏼❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦

Omg why do old dudes on youtube always start comments with telling you there age.
Watched this video about 5/6 years ago and it changed almost everything about my playing.
Thank you Brandon ❤
Dude, I watched this lesson like 4 years ago and it completely changed the way I play. Watching this never gets old. Thanks Brandon you are the man.
Man that is so great to hear. It definitely changed the way I play for sure!!! Such an awesome rudiment!
the password to my computer is a six stroke roll lol. shhh dont tell anyone.
rdavidr too late .
rdavidr if
Hahah
Well, i can say that you literally changed how I look at a rudiments. I play drums about 7 years, but I have never thought about using rudiments on a drum kit like this. All of these time I just used them at snare drum. Thank you man!
I'm a 69 year old rock drummer from Cape Town ,South Africa ,,and to say the least ,,you have given me plenty of new ideas ,,thank you ,.
I think you are a great teacher .some people try to sound to technical but you explain everything in a way i can follow .i hope you make endless videos.
Love your work Brandon. You take simple concepts and make them sound great! It has sure helped my drumming!
Brandon, love your teaching bro... And playing is freaking awesome...
Brandon, I'm 53 and was a Bonham freak my whole life and a few years ago I discovered the whole rudimentary thing when I progressed to learning more jazz grooves and it changed everything for me. Just wish I would have realized that earlier in life but when I started there were very few options for learning and no UA-cam. Your teaching style is refreshing and your humbleness is a good thing...rudiments can be a boring for most drummers (that's why I think so relatively few drummers work on them) but your approach to them is inspiring. Peace, Bob M.
I'll out do you on the age I'm 54 and returning to drums after a break (drum roll) of 25 years. Agree with you that back in the day learning drums was not assisted by youtube and as such rudiments just appeared boring. Now I've picked up the sticks again its a whole new experience and loving learning rudiments (albeit very slowly). Good stuff Brandon, keep it coming.
Watching your first lesson in August 2019 this guy deserves more subs!
Keep the lessons coming bro👍
6 stroke roll is my favorite rudiment. It had so many uses, and fits musically in so many situations. Great job on your first video lesson
This is a great video dude. Very simplified and well explained, you really know your stuff. I've been playing for 15-ish years and this really helped me!
by far the most helpful thing I've seen on UA-cam so far. Thank you tons!
Keep going with the tutorials, you're doing so good and you make it looks so easy. Thanks.
Awesome channel Brandon, keep up the great work!
Thanks this was helpful! Been in a rut so I thought I'd explore rudements, it's really opened up a new world. I can't wait to try this.
I came across your channel this week, and I came across this video right now. Your progress is such an inspiration! You OTOH haven't changed at all lol. Even the way you teach today is the same, which is remarkable, really.
Great vid!! I was also one that resisted rudiments. I first learned the paradiddle about a year ago. My eyes have been opened. You are going to help and inspire so many drummers out there. I mentioned to you before.....I look forward to watching you on your musical journey. Keep the lessons coming! I LOVE DRUMS!!!
Awesome lesson, I’m focusing on these concepts right now. Thanks for this! 😍🥁
This video has me using them all the time. Throwing them into the highhat in the middle of a groove makes it so funky.
Congratulations!!!! You're off to a great start!!!! This is a terrific video lesson--clear, concise, informative, entertaining and most of all, USEFUL!!!! Thank you for sharing your talent with those of us in the unwashed masses.
You did a good job. A lot of drummers don't understand the value of rudiments in kit playing. The six stroke roll can create the illusion of complicated fills. Nice to have in tool kit. Thanks young man.
You're awesome dude. All your videos are well explained and to the point. Thank you
I know I'm late but...
RIP Carmera,
you will be missed.
I agree, rudiments played all over the set really adds a lot of different spins on just one rudiment so just think how many possibilities there are the more rudiments you can play. I was in drum corps as a younger version of myself and it was the best thing I ever did for my drumming. I really need to start practicing a lot more. With kids, work and other things I have let it get in the way of drumming. Thanks for sharing! You're inspiring me to get my 50 year old bones down in the dungeon and playing around with rudiments on all the drums and cymbals and other stuff.
Brandon such a good lesson, I just hit a wall in my drumming and I just didn't know what to do but this really helped me get back and continue practicing and now I'm going to explore all rudimentary drumming. Cheers!!!!
Great lesson by a great drummer with an extraordinary kit! Thank you bro
I love the sound of your kit.
Just found your channel! Great video. Loved your casual approach approach to the lesson! Made it funny and enjoyable to watch. Your back story on your ignorance to rudiments as a young player speaks all too true aswell!
Great work man, look forward to seeing more!
Awesome video man! Defs one of my fav rudiments
That was great for a first video drum lesson! Keep 'em coming :)
Saved this one in my Browser. Great Video, and great job to be your first video. Awesome Cymbal Selection too! The whole kit sounds great.
i like it man , that was cool. I feel the same way about rudiments they're just fascinating. I hope one day I'm able to play like you and all the other great drummers out there. appreciate the tips and lessons
Once again young Yoda, you can teach. So thankful I stumbled across your your channel. Continued success on a job well done 👍🏼.
You are on fire!! Keep it up, cannot wait to see more of you!!
Please do more lessons like this one. It's just great!
Dude absolutely the same experience with rudiments :) this is getting me pumped! I'm practicing this!!! Thanks for the vid
Of course Justin! Hope you're enjoying your new Meinl cymbals :)
That was great and awesome Scott👍
One of the best explanations of a six stroke roll. Been playing drums for a while and only more recently realised how essential rudiments are. Lol I used to think why do I need to learn this.
Good Job dude, since now you have a new subscriber in Spain. Great lesson and great explanation. Keep on with the lessons. Very helpful !!!
Awesome job man love it, you got good taste in grooves.
I have known what a 6 stroke roll is for a long time, and I have seen several...?...well, actually "many" lessons on the roll/fill, and "you say this is your first lesson? Great job dude, keep up the good work.
Great instruction; great video work. Great drumming.
Nice playing man. Actually never looked at the 6stroke this way. So many ways to exploring with it. Thanks man!!
Outstanding video dude. The six stroke roll is my favorite rudiment too. Thanks for this
Greetings from 2020 the shitty future Brandon- just came across your vid and this was terrific whether it was your first or your thousandth lesson my man!
You're a great teacher! Keep it up bro!
Great job! Keep the lessons going bro!
You're really awesome Brandon. You remind me of JP so much and IT MAKES ME HAPPY
Awesome lesson! I've been messing with the 6 stroke roll for a wile thanks for some new ideas!
I like the piece on the right. I’ve been thinking about adding a hot water heater to my kit. Good vid, keep it up.
Ah but how much do you fill it ?
@@chopperking007 and how much does one use it in a fill??
😉
sweet listen dude you really broke it down reminds me of old Mike Johnson lesson with the same rudiment
Great first lesson bro!
Love your snare sound 👌🏽
Great first lesson! Good tips and funny presentation! Really enjoyed it and learned some cool stuff! Thanks!!
Your sound So Good. Especially on those hi-hats!!
Awesome!! I'm thinking about getting a kit right now!!
Dude, that was a great lesson, especially for your 1st. I use paradiddles about as much as u use the 6. Now I’m gonna go explore the 6 thx to u. Peace to u bro!!
Great attitude, enjoyed the vid. Thanks!
awesome lesson man...you did a great job and thx for sharing the knowledge...cheers
Excellent instructions. All love no Ego included. Thanks
Thank you very much for your inspiring vid toward rudiments and sharing your talent with us.Yess
Congrats!! I love your lesson. This is your first video and hopefully not the last one. Keep doing it, you are a great drums professor. Rudiments used to terrorize me, but after this class not any more. Thank you kid.
Great, great drum lesson! Thank you so much.
By far the best lesson on six stroke roll
Great video lesson! i love it. and your passion for rudiments.
Really nice job on the video! Great info, presented well. Keep it up!
Thanks dude! I'm a composer but not a drummer myself, so I didn't know about any of this but now I can incorporate it into my writing for drums
Watched this video about 2 or 3 years ago and liked it but didnt really practice it. Just saw it again now by chance and somehow 2+ years later this rudiment is my absolute go-to in every situation😂 great stuff
Thank you for this lesson and please do more. This helped
Me so much!!! keep up the good work!
Brandon thanks for the lesson! This helped a lot! Loved that you mentioned to throw that left hand lead in there! ¡Muy Importante!
Gotta say I really dig your approach to incorporating proper technique into one's playing. No matter what style of music somebody's into playing, your tips and tutorials are executed and explained in a manner which one can vastly apply to many different styles and feels. Having been a drummer myself for 30+ years my suggestion feed on YT is bombarded daily with videos like these from you and many others, and I view tons of em'; but RARELY if EVER will I actually hit the subscribe button. But today I'm happy to say Thank you for what you do and as your newest subscriber I'm lookin forward to being notified of more content from you and not ever again having to ask myself the question of "what to practice" \m/O\m/
"ghost notes are nice"
funny dude and great lesson.
This is great stuff man! Subscribed!
Great lesson man. Thanks!
Thanks for the lesson. Been messing with 6th stroke roll all week.
thanks man....love this.....
You have personality man! Don't change in your future videos! *thumbs up*
Thank you for giving me this knowledge and breaking it down so it's easy to understand (rare) keep doing lessons on cool stuff like this cause people are frothin over it! From Tassy, Australia
Excellent video! I learned alot.
I’ve been watching your newer videos.
I stumbled across your “first video lesson” and it was fantastic. It felt like I was watching a current video, just not as streamlined (it was the first one 😂-makes sense).
You have not changed one bit! Same guy. If there’s been any changes, it’s for the better!
Same here! I love that there is a water heater in the background. Making it happen with what ya got!
you have made rudiments alot more fun! thanks alot man, keep them coming :)
How to Make a video like Brandon:
Teach
Show sick example
Insult yourself
Repeat.
LOL awesome video!
really good idea! you are really passionate about drums man.. cheers
I came and got just what I was looking for...👍🏾! Gonna be stroking all day!
Nicely done. This is the first ruddy I ever applied to the kit.
"Ruddy" is that drum talk?? Sweet!!! Lol!
This is awesome stuff too man! The hardest thing about rudiments is trying to slip them into your groove and making them feel in the pocket and really part of it all. Or else it's just like "groove groove groove FILL groove groove groove FILL.".
My new favourite drum teacher. Cheers pal
that is perfect cymbals set for me!
Great video, super helpful!
Great first lesson! Your a natural dude :)
Great lesson dude !
This is great, thank you for the ideas!
Great lesson,man!
great lesson!thank you!

Only few drum lessons on youtube are interesting.. They are often useless, but yours is different, i like it!
Good work :)
