It's a very holy symbol in Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism.
Moustache guy didn't change its meaning . He always called that hakencruz , or Christian hooked cross . But after ww2 european Christian nations named it as swastika so that church doesn't get bad name.

Bulle shah was a great poet and philosopher, who lived in 1700s. This is an adaptation of his poem into a song. The poet is referring to himself wherever 'bulla' is used in the poem as well as the song.

Bulle Shah (nick name- Bulla) was a poet in Punjabi. And in Punjabi poetry, when a poet writes, they refer to themselves.. Something like "Waleska doesnt know who she is". Now the poem is still written by Bulla, so his name is still in the song/poem.
Bulla kee jaane main kaun - is a poem and therefore why it is so beautifully written
And he was a direct descendant of prophet Mohammad (a sayyed)

Bulla refers to the great Sufi philosopher/poet Bulle Shah (circa 17th/18th century). Amazing song and rendition by Rabbi Shergill. Check out the video of the same song from the 2012 movie Jab Tak Hain Jaan with SRK.

You should check out Tere bin and Challa(avoid the video it's just going to hurt Efra seeing Srk "playing"the guitar 😅) by Rabbi Shergill as well. And also Saadi galli aaja and Pani da rang by Ayushmann Khuranna.
With regards to the song Bullah ki jana, by Bullah he is referring to Bulleh Shah a 17th century Sufi poet and philosopher, he had a great impact on the region of Punjab

Bulla ki jana mein kaun was a big hit . Dildarriyaan by Amrindar gill is my college time favorite year 2004-05. Amrindar gill is very good human being n down to earth. Both songs are the emotions for the youth of that time. Full of soul and pain of love . I am in early 40's still am listening these songs on regular basis when i am alone n i want to listen something soulfull. Needs proper translation to understand these beautiful songs

Okay, guys, don't worry, that's not a nazi symbol 😂. It's a swatik symbol used to symbolize auspiciousness in Hindu culture. Though they look similar, the nazi symbol is a mirror image of the swatik symbol. So basically, you guys don't have to censor it. And pls guys don't just push animal as just controversial film. It's a brilliant and a brave film.

The lyrics for the last one are basically the singer talking to his own heart. The whole song is like a self-conversation he has created to keep himself from falling in love. ("because in the end, he will get hurt").
The main hook roughly translates to -> "I have complains with you, my foolish heart, why did you fall in love? (even after I warned you so many times) "
It's like he is giving himself a warning and getting mad at himself (his heart) while inadvertently admitting that he has fallen hard for someone.
And yes, Amrinder Gill is equivalent to Diljit Dosanjh (not comparing but giving you a reference) when it comes to his popularity in main Punjab (both India and Pakistan). Multiple generations absolutely love him. I have literally been listening to his songs for as long as I can remember!
Fun fact: him and Diljit often did Punjabi movies together back in their early days!

Swastika (a sanaatni Hindu symbol) and Gammadion Cross or hakenkreuz are two different things. Hitler never called that symbol a Swastika, he was a right-wing Christian and he always called that symbol the Heckenkreuz. But deliberately Western historians link that symbol with Swastika and India to whitewash the black blot of Christianity.

It's definitely worth listening to live performances by Satinder Sartaaj too - check out Roohan Vala Geet. Other great songs by him are Sai, Kurriyon and Dardan Wala Des
Do check out Reshma for a more folk touch - she's sadly departed now but had a really unique voice. Her 'Haiyyo Rabba' is a masterpiece 😊
Another great Pakistani Punjabi singer is Ali Abbas (there are two with the same name) - if you look him up with the song 'Chudiyan da chamba'. There are two live versions of it. He's criminally underrated!! Hina Nasrullah singing 'heer' live is also awesome. I could go on 😂
One more advice if you really want to experience the original Punjabi music pls check out songs from 2000s and also from era of 2013-2018... It has best Punjabi songs full of feelings and emotions

I would expect this kind of ignorance from Americans but from Brits it's inexcusable. I'm not mad because they got our "culture" wrong or anything like that, we're here to watch music reviews not history. Recently one white guy suggested to me that Indians should stop using swastika to be sensitive to peoples suffering. And it's just one example i have many more. No - Bulle Shah is one of the Punjabi poets , philosopher - mystic 1680-1757.
His poetry is still as popular and produces hits till today. E.g. in this Rabbi Shergill super hit of 2004.
Like most North Indian poetry, the poet refers / signs his poem.by referring to himself in the 3rd person
He often calls himself Bulleya in his verses.
He was a landmark poet of Punjabi literature and consciousness

"Bullah ki Jana" refers to Bulleh Shah who was a great Sufi Poet. The song could also be called a Sufi song by the way. It was a great hit and extremely popular in Pakistan too.

Swastika is a religious symbol in indic religions way before ww2, Germany's dictator used hakencruz or hooked cross and west called it swastika, which it is not. Its tilted. Just like there is difference between + & ×, swastika and hakenkruz are two different things. But because west called it swastika and western viewpoint is popular, people started calling it swastika.
Since you liked Rabbi's song, I recommend checking out 2000's Pakistani music. That was one of the golden era of the industry imo. Would love to see you react to "Mehbooba" by Haroon, "Maahi ve" by Faakhir, "Boohey Baariya" by Hadiqa Kiani, "Sayonee" by Junoon.
Baba Bulleh Shah (Bulla) was a Muslim Punjabi Sufi saint and poet from Kasur Pakistan. It is one of his poems that Rabbi Shergil sings so well. Although there has been hundreds of renditions of this particular song over the course of last 250 years.
