I’m on section8 and if you think waiting on the waiting list is hard! It gets harder when you get the voucher and can’t find a home to secure in the time frame they give you. INMAGINE all the time waiting in the wait list and in the end you loose it cause no housing is available! I’m facing this right now it’s not easy at all it’s frustrating and very stressful

I had section 8 voucher and supposedly it's been exhausted and I have to exit my apartment after 2 yrs in Canoga park CA. Now if I can't get a another section 8 voucher,then I can get a motel voucher in Los Angeles I sure don't won't to be back on the street or a shelter. So I need who to in contact with. Apply for Section 8 and I had a social worker to call me up at 11:45 in the middle of the night tell me I got approved for Section 8 it turned out I did not get approved she did not know what she was doing long story short because it goes on and on I tried to change social workers and the supervisor over all the social workers there would not let me change and would not tell me who was over them and everytime I call she can't tell me that she don't return my phone calls but you are awesome and you tell it like it is and I love that about you thank you so much for sharing everything with us
In Alameda County, CA, I called the 211 number and got the CES screening intake. They said it can take 2 - 4 weeks before I get a call back for the CES/CoC questionnaire. 😲 The HRC doing the CES questionnaire doesn’t take calls, they call you. (56, disabled, homeless in vehicle.) I’ve been on the waiting list since like 2019. I applied via the CEL or COC for my state, they said they would put me on a list for emergency housing vouchers, and after 4 months I was told that never existed, and they won’t help with emergency housing. The best they can do is put me in a shelter, which puts me at risk for COVID as I’m disabled and at risk.

Thank you for advocating for people sort-of-speak. I wonder what I can do NOW, or in the future, as Santa Barbera, CA. Housing Authority told me "we don't participate in that program" asking "who do I hook-up with to get info about "First Time Home Owner Program?" Then, I replied "Well I thought it was a Federal program?" she merely repeated herself, like jackass and that was the Director. Also, inquired into their "Workforce" Program for 1-bed/Studio, if I was merely Seeking work. For those willing to "Relinquish" or don't have cars with the idea being "Eco-Green" using bus line, in the immediate downtown/beach area because really, they DON'T have parking. On that extra "check box" she said "You should not apply until your actually here"; All the Russians waiting for Section-8 move when they get the voucher after years of waiting on multiple list nationwide without actually ever being there.

Im in PB elderly housing in California and i have been trying to add my partner on my lease with me but was told i can only add a member if i married him or if he was my care worker. They tell me that adding a member at the time of your recertification is not the time to add a member. I updated by adding my partner to my application online before i was processed for a unit. there had to be a way to add a member..

I been waiting for housing for 13 years and I have been going down to the housing authority time and time again and I spoke to the housing caseworker and she telling me that I'm still on the waiting list and I ask her where I could get a housing voucher and she told me that she don't know where I could get a housing voucher for section 8 And plus I've been living with someone for 13 years and right now I'm still struggling and I need housing right now.

I am on SSIDI and currently. Homeless in Texas I can't seem to even find a application to get on a waiting list I still hold a mortgage on a home that I was illegally evicted from back October 21,2020 the lender that offered me a cash offer used my e sign from 1 page contract to buy my mortgage to have me removed with out ever paying me a dime.

Hi Thank you for helping all of us! I hope you can help me. I just moved back to SD from Vegas. Long story short had bad landlord in Vegas that rented me a condo with black mold I found out and bam Im getting a no cause 30 day. I stand up for my rights but its a money town and with a property man. that's been in business 25 yrs. Little man got kicked to the curb literally. Property management made it so hard to get my assets in the house I had to sign a settlement under duress YES. But my business was in there and our whole life savings over 250 k. We go to drive the Uhaul (which U-Haul rented us a truck with a bad exhaust system) About to go to arbitration for that. OUR U-Haul gets stolen the last night we were in Vegas. Now Im in San Diego no way to make money until I recently just got a job but doesnt start for a month. I have a son who gets out of a treatment center he was in for over a year and they just basicly threatened me to come get him, refused to transfer him to San Diego when the laws say you could do that. Im staying at a friends that I have to be out Aug 1st. and my son cant stay here. My son is out running a muckkk back in Vegas and needs help and is coming back before school. But I can't find a place that I can afford, its not a problem getting in one, but I need help. I've applied for section 8 and all the different lists. I have as interview with Salvation Army if they answer there phones. But my question is do I have to have a disability (I do) But my son has a huge one, and being that they just kicked him to the curb and needs help shouldn't that help me to get a EHV? Or I need to just buy a house through hud. So I need a appointment. if you can help I'm more than happy to pay you. how do I make a appointment??

I am very physically disabled with mobility issues, asthma, severe sinus infections and cannot stand or walk for long periods of time. I live in subsidized county housing but I am continually hassled my managers who IGNORE my disability issues. I will be calling you. I have been threatened with eviction because I cannot keep things as clean as much as they want & some are their issues are insane, made up arbitrarily as well. I have tried for years to get a caregiver but I either get no responses or people don’t want to drive 10 miles. I was in a bus accident six months ago that permanently damaged my knees. It’s why I cannot stand, walk, sit, clean, etc. without pain and screaming.
So sorry. Many towns have a type of 'Helping Hands' program for Seniors who are volunteers- who do handiwork, possibly even cleaning. Ask local town hall if there's anything like that for disabled. They may have charity resources that can help too. Also ask faith based groups. And consider Knee Replacement surgery - ideally 1 at a time (in case of a problem w/1 surgery).

We bought a rental property and ended up putting our daughter in it after her divorce, we want her to get HUD, can we get the home HUD certified and her to get a voucher to pay for her rent? Second our county will allow us to build an ADU on this property that we have a friend in need of housing who has a voucher. I had a section 8 voucher and path program put me in a 2 room duplex but in the process they were trying to change my section 8 voucher from los Angeles to Inglewood, well in the process they let my voucher expire so they list it and now I have no section 8 but path is paying my rent for 2 years . After the 2 years I'm done and probably back being homeless . What can I do.

Apply for Section 8 and I had a social worker to call me up at 11:45 in the middle of the night tell me I got approved for Section 8 it turned out I did not get approved she did not know what she was doing long story short because it goes on and on I tried to change social workers and the supervisor over all the social workers there would not let me change and would not tell me who was over them and everytime I call she can't tell me that she don't return my phone calls but you are awesome and you tell it like it is and I love that about you thank you so much for sharing everything with us
In Alameda County, CA, I called the 211 number and got the CES screening intake. They said it can take 2 - 4 weeks before I get a call back for the CES/CoC questionnaire. 😲 The HRC doing the CES questionnaire doesn’t take calls, they call you. (56, disabled, homeless in vehicle.) COC program takes 35 days , so what your saying is highly accurate. Make sure you have the right answers ,they have many clever ways to disqualify a person .

I’ve been on the waiting list since like 2019. I applied via the CEL or COC for my state, they said they would put me on a list for emergency housing vouchers, and after 4 months I was told that never existed, and they won’t help with emergency housing. The best they can do is put me in a shelter, which puts me at risk for COVID as I’m disabled and at risk.
I think you got scammed , COC / CEL would tell you instantly if approved , there is no waiting list.

Housing Authority told me "we don't participate in that program" asking "who do I hook-up with to get info about "First Time Home Owner Program?" Then, I replied "Well I thought it was a Federal program?" she merely repeated herself, like jackass and that was the Director.
Also, inquired into their "Workforce" Program for 1-bed/Studio, if I was merely Seeking work. For those willing to "Relinquish" or don't have cars with the idea being "Eco-Green" using bus line, in the immediate downtown/beach area because really, they DON'T have parking. On that extra "check box" she said "You should not apply until your actually here"; All the Russians waiting for Section-8 move when they get the voucher after years of waiting on multiple list nationwide without actually ever being there.

I've made it until now . I live on Maui hi because I kinda have too . I paid my November rent. Had to go to California asked my if I could pay my rent by casheare check like before. I paid nov and got on a plane 11/16/22 the next day he though all my belongings out

Once you get the voucher in a different city with a lower list wait can you port out right away and if they say no is there a way you still can

Long story short had bad landlord in Vegas that rented me a condo with black mold I found out and bam Im getting a no cause 30 day. I stand up for my rights but its a money town and with a property man. that's been in business 25 yrs. Little man got kicked to the curb literally. Property management made it so hard to get my assets in the house I had to sign a settlement under duress YES. But my business was in there and our whole life savings over 250 k. We go to drive the Uhaul (which U-Haul rented us a truck with a bad exhaust system) About to go to arbitration for that. OUR U-Haul gets stolen the last night we were in Vegas. Now Im in San Diego no way to make money until I recently just got a job but doesnt start for a month. I have a son who gets out of a treatment center he was in for over a year and they just basicly threatened me to come get him, refused to transfer him to San Diego when the laws say you could do that. Im staying at a friends that I have to be out Aug 1st. and my son cant stay here. My son is out running a muckkk back in Vegas and needs help and is coming back before school. But I can't find a place that I can afford, its not a problem getting in one, but I need help. I've applied for section 8 and all the different lists. I have as interview with Salvation Army if they answer there phones. But my question is do I have to have a disability (I do) But my son has a huge one, and being that they just kicked him to the curb and needs help shouldn't that help me to get a EHV? I am very physically disabled with mobility issues, asthma, severe sinus infections and cannot stand or walk for long periods of time. I live in subsidized county housing but I am continually hassled my managers who IGNORE my disability issues. I will be calling you. I have been threatened with eviction because I cannot keep things as clean as much as they want & some are their issues are insane, made up arbitrarily as well. I have tried for years to get a caregiver but I either get no responses or people don’t want to drive 10 miles. I was in a bus accident six months ago that permanently damaged my knees. It’s why I cannot stand, walk, sit, clean, etc. without pain and screaming.

So sorry. Many towns have a type of 'Helping Hands' program for Seniors who are volunteers- who do handiwork, possibly even cleaning. Ask local town hall if there's anything like that for disabled. They may have charity resources that can help too. Also ask faith based groups. And consider Knee Replacement surgery - ideally 1 at a time (in case of a problem w/1 surgery).

We bought a rental property and ended up putting our daughter in it after her divorce, we want her to get HUD, can we get the home HUD certified and her to get a voucher to pay for her rent? My current lease is about to be up and I’m currently unemployed and have been due to Covid which has resulted in my savings basically nonexistent and I been trying to get on section 8 for nearly 2 years here in AZ and I’m basically freaking out right now cause I got a kid and we’re not from here so we don’t have any resources like family and stuff to fall on during hard times like this when needing help

I had a section 8 voucher and path program put me in a 2 room duplex but in the process they were trying to change my section 8 voucher from los Angeles to Inglewood, well in the process they let my voucher expire so they list it and now I have no section 8 but path is paying my rent for 2 years . After the 2 years I'm done and probably back being homeless . What can I do.
