Assembling Plastic and Metal Figures

This is a beginner friendly introduction to making the plastic and metal models or figurines, used for miniature wargaming.
If you're an old hand then move along, nothing to see here! ;)
That said there may be some odd tips and tricks you haven't seen before so may still be worth a viewing.

I have some Persian soldiers like this, and a set of Romans and North Korean forces too. Have you ever heard of Airfix models? I have some in my room I want to do some day. I have an Airfix model shop straight up the road from me. Sometimes when I look online for Viking, they have horns. The Vikings didn't have horns, it was a mistake made during translation, the Saxons wore horns on their helmets, but the myth still exists today. If you go to Whitby or Blackpool and look at the toy Viking helmets, they always have horns on them! I imported some aluminium soldiers from France a few years ago, I'm also on the lookout for old lead toy soldiers too. Someone called Jim Price hand carved historical figurines from blocs of lead back in the 50's! He was quite good, I wish I hade some of them! BMC toys in Scranton US sells toy soldiers, so does the toy soldier depot and many other sites too like armies in plastic and trains and toy soldiers! What is you're opinion on police figurines?

Hi thank you for your comment. Yes I have used Airfix models as toy soldiers when I was a kid. Hours of fun as a rugrat with them. Yes the Hollywood depication of vikings with horned helmets is a bit of a cliche. @@kapitihobbies9360 Do you live in the UK? Because we have the English heritage, my parents are subscribed to it. I think they do historical re-enactments. I've been to a few and their so much fun. I went to a Viking festival in my old town in Derbyshire on it's first day of opening. I love going to these sorts of things where you can taste medieval food and put on armour instead of just looking at them through a piece of glass. Have you ever been the the Yorvick centre in York? I buy their battle axe bitter from there, it's an old Viking museum but they also uncovered a few Roman artifacts as well. You seem to get a lot of Americans going there too. I've been to old castles, forts, abbeys and monasteries. Many fond memories of my childhood!
