Perfect crochet project for beginners!
This is my version of granny square bag.
The bag is about 14 inches wide, from side to side, and 15 inches long from upper corner to the bottom center, when laying flat.
Recommended crochet hook is size 6 mm.

I am crocheting for the first time and this is the best project for a newbie.
Initial magic circle round might be a bit difficult, but I tried and undid it thrice; fourth time it was easy and even.
Reaching the corner after one side: 6:50
Completing the round and starting next: 7:20

Hello. Thanks for the video. Ive been working on the bag, and while i have made 9 rounds of the base, somehow it has come out to be only 7 inches instead of 11. DO you know why this happened? and should i just continue to make a few more rounds until it is 11 inches?
The size of your work depends on the size of your yarn, hook and crocheting tension. You can either switch to different size of hook/yarn or add rounds, yes.
I love the yarn you’re using but none of the craft stores in my area carry it. Could regular 4ply yarn be used for this project?

I've seen the backpack made in regular yarn as well, so it should work too!
I loved this bag but I do have 100% cotton yarn and it is not as thick as yours do you think I can crochet this bag with my yarn?

Hi, I didn't use all of it but I don't have exact number. It's always recommended to have extra amount of yarn just in case.

This bag is beautiful! I’m trying to make it following along with your video. I’m having trouble getting it to lay flat / something is off and it keeps waffling. I’ve tried 3 times and the same thing happens. What am I doing wrong?
maybe try changing the hook size. We all have different tensions. Hope this works for you. It wont change the quality of your bag.. may vary slightly in size.

How do i get the written instructions

After doing nine rounds, I only had 32 stitches. It would have been helpful if you could have mentioned how many stitches needed after each round. Now I’m tearing the whole thing apart. Lots of avoidable wasted time. Frustrated.

Please follow the recommendation of yarn amount for this bag. I don't have exact number of grams and every crocheter would use different amount of yarn.
