Mercede radio saves audio setting configs per device/input so you have to program it after the 1st use and it will keep the setting. Ie. Bluetooth and radio may have different bass and treble settings etc. I have had to adjust a few times.
Do you always have to pair it with the device or does it automatically connect to your phone when you turn on your car? I have the same thing in my car but I got a Bluetooth that connects to the aux cord but I always have to reach over to turn it on. I’m looking to pretty much switch to this device.
When using bluetooth audio, make sure that the audio on your main audio device is almost all the way up.

The volume on your phone was probably low . If you had it all the way up on your phone it would of sounded as loud as the radio did
