  • I had the fantastic luck to get my hands on the Noodler's Ink limited release "Lucky Shamrock" fountain pen ink! This ink is a limited release of only 288 bottles! The label is quite cute for this ink! This is a St Patrick's Day themed ink in a bright teal that becomes a deep shade of green when layered. I decided to try the ink in my Pineider Avatar UR with a "Medium" nib. The ink writes very nicely in this pen and it tends to write a little on the drier side. This ink is another wetter ink from Noodler's with some bleedthrough on the back of the paper where it pooled. I quite like the color and think I will use it for this month to change up my usual ink.
    Giveaway is Closed.
I will be giving away one bottle of Noodler's "Lucky Shamrock" ink to one lucky winner!
    1. Just comment about something about fountain pens below!
    2. The contest runs through St. Patrick's Day, March 17th 2024.
    3. I will tag the winner in the comment section to notify.
This contest is given by me and is not sponsored in anyway.
    Supplies Used:
    Pineider Avatar UR
    Tomoe River Paper Notebook
    Onion Skin Paper Notepad

This color is so unique and beautiful!
I'm in a phase where I've slowed down on buying anything new and I'm enjoying using what I already own. I'm getting to know which inks I enjoy in which pens.

Noodler's black is my go-to for long writing sessions. I'm in to dip pens (glass & steel nibs) as well as fountain pens and that ink works well with both. On nice paper I like a medium nib (Platinum 3776) and on regular paper, I use a Pilot Metropolitan or fine nib so I don't get bleed-thru or feathering. Honestly, I could blather on and on about fountain pens!

You might give Noodler’s _Texas Black Bat_ a try. A Dromgooles exclusive, it’s a great performing, nearly pure black ink (seems like it uses grey undertones only) that is second only to the unobtainium _Proctor’s Ledge_ (also from Noodler’s) in terms of darkness.

hi, I am newish to fountain pens & as my ink obsession grows, most of my sample choices are green & purple. I like broad nibs (& double broad) I adore all things Ireland & St Patrick's is my favourite holiday of the year. I am in Australia so I hope your contest includes international 😊 This ink is absolutely beautiful !!

That ink is gorgeous! It's cool they incorporated blue in there - little nod to historical accuracy 😂 I've been troubleshooting a Monteverde Ritma recently, so I've been appreciating my Pilot Prera more and more because it's never caused me any grief and its pleasurable to write with

That’s a very unique ink. At first, it looked like two different inks! I think that would go nicely in my nahvalur voyage Miami pen. So, my son just moved down to Virginia Beach, we’re in Michigan. I visited and went to a pen lovers paradise. I told her I found her shop because I watch you! She was delighted. I’m going back in April, I think I need a new blue passport tn!

Recently, I have been trying to expand my colors when it comes to ink. Im a fan of dark saturated inks, so I've typically gone with blues and blacks. Lately, purples and greens have been grabbing my attention, and this ink looks beautiful!

Right now my favorite go-to Ink Is Noodles Wampum purple in a Lammy Safari with an extra fine nib. I think I've settled in as Noodles being my go to ink company, not just for the value but I just love the variety and all the different properties like forge resistance, bulletproof, eternal. Plus I enjoy the fact a lot of their colors are based on things. One of my absolute favorites that is always in my rotation is it blue black that's an exclusive to a in NYC store, it's matches the same blue black ink that the people on Ellis island would use to sign their name. How cool is that.

Just got into fountain pens and ink! As an artist I love using different tools and so far using a fountain pen is something special. I haven't got to try a lot but I want to use different inks too.

I just got this ink for my wife to use in her Benu 4 Leaf Clover Talisman. I put it in my Noodler’s Charle pen to play with. It’s an amazing ink! The shading is fantastic the way it changes from a green to a blue depending on where the ink is thickest. Noodler’s really outdid themselves on this ink.

This is a beautiful color! This looks like it might be my favorite Noodler's limited edition lately. My favorite fountain pen-related thought is that I find myself preferring medium nibs over fine nibs lately. They just write nicely and you get more of the color. The only downside is they often feather too much for some of the cheaper paper I come into contact with on a daily basis.
Thanks for the video and the look at this beautiful ink!

I'm really surprised how much of a colour gradient comes from this Lucky Shamrock ink. Thanks again for the demonstration.
My current fountain pen thing I've been doing is trying to locate a new bottle of Sheaffer Skrip Red, because, apparently, that line has been discontinued. They've replaced them with the smaller 30 ML "vintage" series. Finally did track one down in England today.

Thanks for this. I started getting into fountain pens in 80's as a young lawyer who still did some drafting by hand on legal pads. There has been such a revolution in inks since those days! A wide variety of colors. Lots of "indie" manufacturers and international ink brands much more readily available in the United States.
I'm thinking Noodlers Lucky Shamrock might make a good match with my green striped Pelikan M800.

When the syringe is starting to feel “tight” that prob means it’s time to get a new one since the black rubber part that moves up and down is getting worn out. You can prob keep the blunt tip part if you want. But typically harder to find the plastic parts of the syringe separate

Such a stunning colour and I love the variation. I can only imagine what it looks like irl 🤩
    • One thing that I appreciate about my fountain pens is the joy that they bring me when writing with them. It's probably a bit clichéd but I enjoy the experience of writing as opposed to simply picking up a pen as a tool.
    • Also, the fact that we do not need to use the most expensive "best" pen to get such joy. I adore the writing experience of my humble Muji Fountain Pen because of what the pen means to me. It is not the "best" pen in my collection and is one of the cheapest, but it is one of my favourites.
Thank you for sharing with us, Logan. You have such a great collection of pens 😊🤩🤤

I'm tempted to pick up a bottle. Too bad that it requires a shipping premium. On that note: I've been experimenting with larger-bodied pens lately, particularly pens shipped in from China. The Jinhao X159 made me realize that the writing experience is more comfortable with a larger pen, and so I experimented with the Jinhao Dadao 9019. The 9019 has quickly become a favorite, in daily rotation for the last few months. I'm now researching other large-bodied pens, realizing that this is my niche and preference. My Lamys and Faber Castells are going to be mostly abandoned or sold; I never want to reach for them anymore.
