- Supercomputing, scientific computing, and high-performance computing (HPC)...all cool buzzwords, but what do they actually mean? What is a supercomputer? How does it work? And why do we use them? Find out in the first video of our Supercomputing Series!
Thanks for making me understand what supercomputer is in a easy and understandable way
oh, fun.
always nice to see new names in the top 500
Please post more high level security related talks! I love the public outreach but your channel used to be so good for more cerebral, long form content. Did you start a separate channel for that stuff?
Hi there--there is still a plethora of very high-level content of all subjects on our channel--we suggest you go to our channel home page to peruse for something that may be more on your level. You might like some new videos that we recently added, which you can find in our 'Castor Symposium playlist', or check out our 'CGSR' playlist.
plz tell where these computers are used 🙏🙏
Parallel processes have so much in common,
it's a shame they're never gonna meet...
Ha!
Finally a good video about supercomputers. My question is this: if our brain is superior than a supercomputer why is that we can't process so much information or solve complex calculations,
So in terms of science, technology, engineering and math
A supercomputer is better than a human right ✅???
Super computers are not superior to the human brain, they perform calculations which we can do too, it's just that there are billions and billions of calculations we simply don't have the time to do all that, that's why we need super computers, for example you can try to dig the whole United States with a shovel but it would take 100s of years or you could simply get an excavator to do that, now you tell me is an excavator intelligent enough on its own to innovate and build new tech or, it's not even capable to know what to dig and where to dig if we don't tell it, same goes with super computers, they are not intelligent they are just the most powerful calculators humans ever invented.
Our brains are processing information and solving complex calculations all the time.
A computer doesn't know what a number or addition is, it just runs the calculations as it's told. In contrast, you can understand these concepts and put them together in new ways.
everything and including everything=complete... 40 times per page 10^94 volumes.
This is great! 🥰🦋🌈✨
thanks
"bro I'm lagging" bros computer:
Get rid of the music. Very distracting.
Fun video but ignores the reason why these systems were built or what they are mainly used for.
Why netconnection
Nice and informative but the music washed away what she was saying. I could not finish it. :(
I could finish the video, but I do agree that the voiceover was not as clear as I was hoping for.
Now raspberry pi as supercomputer
and as andreas
I love this topic, and think your script is great. However, the visuals do not match what is being said - if you want people to understand (meaning the majority of people...not just us fellow wonks here in DC) you have to show visuals which actually depict the concepts being articulated...otherwise your views experience "cognitive dissonance" (for example, showing stock images of a macbook when you're speaking about high-level concepts - showing imagery of the smallest particle in the system while you discuss the high-level is confusing and distracting...this is exactly the type of thing which makes viewers close a browser because nobody wants to admit to themselves they don't understand...they just say to themselves "bad video" and move on.). Better to proceed with full animation because then we can provide moving inforgraphics and stunning, logical visuals to depict, reinforce, and enhance upon what is being said. We've already worked with DOE (through Edelman) and we'd very much love to discuss how this content could be so very sharable.
Then why corona is not ending???
exactly. medicine seems to move so slow compared to the computer industry.
cancer, still here. injuries and invasive surgeries still here. Old age still here.
wish they would speed things up.
