Don't fall for the hocus pocus of all the commercial products, putting it in alcohol or glycerin or processing it into concentrates or whatever. Elderberry cooks beautifully, heat inactivates the cyanide in it (just like for apple seeds, cherry pits, etc) without reducing its potency, and it tastes amazing. You can make jelly, syrup, or pie out of it, and you can dry it and use it as an herbal tea. It has the second-highest concentration of antioxidants of any fruit in the world, and grows so easily in such a variety of conditions that you can find it growing wild in ditches along highways all over North America. It has virtually no pest or disease problems and doesn't need to be babied, so you can stick it in a garden just about anywhere. I'm very pro-elderberry but anti-expensive herbal products. This is not an obscure herb you need to pay through the nose for. It's just an incredibly healthy, versatile, easy-to-grow berry with a ton of culinary uses that we'd all benefit from introducing into our diets.
Elderberry does not have cyanide . Yes the compound it in SOUNDS like it has cyanide BUT it does not...wives tall tail .. nothing more

‘Elderberry was shown to stop viruses multiplying in a petri dish’...... viruses don’t multiply in a Petri dish, they need a host. Do t get me wrong, I do Elderberry jam every year but the ladies comment and understanding is questionable.

Lol I find this funny because for the last 2 years I’ve been making my own elderberry syrup/medicine. I make so much for my family I offer some to my mom/Dad/sister. They never wanted any until they noticed people on the news talking about it during the coronavirus. Now they each have a large jar and take a dropper everyday 😂😂 And it actually tastes better then any medicine. It’s like blackberry syrup a little tart
How do you make it

5 cups: water
1.5 cups: dried or frozen elderberries
2 fingers of fresh ginger root (finely chopped)
2 teaspoons: cinnamon (or 1-2 cinnamon sticks)
2 teaspoons: cloves
1.5 cups: raw honey
2 tablespoons: lemon juice
STEP 1: add all ingredients to a stock pot besides the honey and lemon.
STEP 2: bring pot to boil, then reduce heat to a rolling simmer.
STEP 3: cover and simmer for one hour. Remove from heat then let it sit for a hour
STEP 4: mash the ingredients together inside the pot with a large spoon. Then strain the medicine into another bowl, (I use a cheese cloth but even a washcloth, t shirt or pillowcase will do as long as it’s clean.) I then squeeze the ingredients in the cloth over the bowl to get about 3 cups worth of medicine.
STEP 5: mix your honey and lemon together, then pour elderberry juice and honey and lemon into a jar with a secured lid. Then refrigerate, this will last from 3-6 months. So make sure you label a date.
Lastly when you take the medicine make sure you shake the liquid well. Because the honey will sink to the bottom overtime, and it’s much sweeter when shaken.

I think I will work on mixing with another berry to get the sweetness rather than the honey or sugar.
Honey is actually very good for you and your only taking a tsp or two a day so it's not gonna really up yer blood sugar much either especially if you space out the teaspoons you take like one in the am and one in the pm.

@@celisesookhan5439 Master Tonic: clove of garlic peeled without skin, ginger peeled, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, turmeric, red onions raw horseradish root pure, black pepper, organic raw honey, hot pepper (ghost pepper or scotch bonnet or jalapeno peppers) Top off jar with jalapeno pepper in a large jar. Let jar sit for 2 weeks in a dark place. Add some food when cooking and take a spoonful when needed.
add more ingredient to jar as it goes down.
Elderbery tonic: take dehydrated elderberrie with filtered water and simmer on stove. May add a bit of colloidal silver instead of some of the water.... Only take one spoon because more will keep you in the toilet. Hope this helps
