Thanks for the review Vic! Just got Falcam's Zhiyun Crane M3 quick release plate and quick release mounting plate for traditional tripods. I've heard great things... That set up with the monitor would be incredible! Cheers mate.
Love Falcam products. Started with F38 stuff and then F22 parts make it all work. I have the cage for my FX3, A7III, and A7C. I do have complaint, the top side won't allow a Godox flash trigger without some file work.
I think you're using the allen key wrong, it might help if you use it with your thumb and middle finger gripping the long part, and the long part is what is pushed into the slot. So your thumb and middle finger are holding it in and aligned, then you just turn it using your index finger. then you just use the shorter end as you are to tighten once its pretty much done.
Dude, WOW. I watched all the way through on this one. When I've cheated with a 2nd Party I've kept it to one. Here I see you are bolder than me. Now I'm confused (even for someone from the States) rhetorically speaking of course.
Thanks for the review! I originally came to your channel to get some tips and tricks for my Sony ZV-1. I now switched to the Sony A7C. I have invested in the claw system BUT I have the zhiyun crane m3s and would love to use the falcam f38 system. What do you think? Should I switch?
For A7iv I own the Niceyrig cage and it is the absolute worst. Ugly (unimportant) and blocks the mode switch and lens release button (inexcusable). Do not buy! I replaced some months ago with the Falcam cage and it's really nice. It looks cool, too, which is a bonus. The cage looks as cool as the camera is. My only "gripe" is that the top handle - identical to the one you demo here - is not very grippy. The handle scales are almost slick to the touch where I expected a rubber texture. Although now I don't even notice. I've also found the side rail that sits offset from the camera on the left side works as a secure one-handed grip. The top plate functions in the same way - I find myself hooking my fingers around the rails when I pick up the camera, which gives a secure feel.
PLEASE.. how do you edit Sony footage on iMac..????? Why is it mp4 and not mov... I have a 2019 iMac 27inch with Ventura... trying to edit in DaVinci Resolve 18.. I'm only familiar with Z Cam S6 files... they are .MOV... I can find the Sony files... but when I play them, they are black.. but the sound plays.. I'm lost here... didn't realize just playing the damn file would be a challenge.. smh..

Thanks Ryan 🔥 yeah. They’re stuff is really well made to be honest.
Great review. The hot shoe mount is offset on the ZV-E1, do you think you can use the Sony ECM-B1M with the top handle?
Thanks Julian - You can as far as I recall, but I might be wrong .I'll double check.
Keen to know if this is the case too

Agreed. I’ve a few f22 bits for years and they’re still as good as new.
Don’t lose the screw in the bottom of your cage. Falcam/Ulanzi does not sell them separately. It’s a real challenge to find a replacement.

Vic, what are you doing? I bought SmallRIg cage on your recommend, and now you have a new squeeze?

@@VicBarry I know. Love it. Just kidding around 😉

Vic, would that falcam cage for the ZVe1 fit the ZV e10? interested in the f22 system but they haven't made a dedicated cage for it. Thanks
which one do you prefer? smallrig or falcam cage?
I love the grip on the smallrig. But the falcam is just that bit more functional and speedier with their f22 release system

Ca you use a nato clamp on top?
There's definitely no mounting screw options on the top of the handle so that's a no.
There is a nato rail mount that you can add to the top of the cage. Not sure if you meant on top of the handle or the cage.

Hmm.. think I'm good.. I'm getting visuals through VLC Player
Different cameras shoot different formats / containers etc.
No cable clamp protector? Kinda useless without this.
That would be nice.
I'm a smallrig guy
