- I met Micah while visiting California. While at first he seemed quite nervous to sing, but he felt compelled to sing anyway because this is an important part of his mission. According to Micah, it's up to musicians to use their powers to get people to think deeper, understand each other, and treat each other better. In this video, he works through his nervousness to sing his song.
This video happened at a large yearly musician's trade show called NAMM. I later find out that Micah has been a contestant on America's Got Talent Season 9 (2014).
As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me for Free" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

He basically dropped one of the best sounding performances of this song people are ever going to hear and it was live in the street. This man really sang from the heart in such a beautiful way. I was thinking about the words he was singing and that the world is changing. I'm talking more about the people than the leaders.
The fact that we are watching a collaboration of two strangers on social media is something that didn't happen decades ago. That's a big change. To me musicians are such a great example of people who know how to cooperate versus compete. You can't make music with another person if you don't know how to cooperate. Reggie has a gift for bringing people together and I'm so glad he does this. He has a beautiful spirit of cooperation and caring for others. You can tell when he just looks down at his instrument and the ground and not the singer. The bar was instantly raised, so Reggie stepped up and focused on his playing.
Reggie loves to bring the hidden voices and joy of singing out of everyone, but he completely disengages from his "encouragement mode" when this guy starts to sing. Every guitarist finds it hard to resist that trancelike musical nirvana when presented with a singer who obviously has the same passion for their instrument as the guitarist does for theirs. Then it's just about trying to focus on making the most profound music he can to intertwine with the singer's voice and produce something really special. Where every note has to be as sweet as the notes that singer is hitting.

Something I really appreciate about guitaro is that he doesn't swoon over the amazing singers any more than he does the everyday singers. If you mute the sound on one of his videos, you can't really tell when someone with amazing pipes is on the screen, because guitaro treats all his singers the same. I think that is such a big part of why so many people walk away from his mic feeling empowered.
