I'd happily take either of these, possibly lean toward the honor, thanks for the review/comparison. I live about 10 mins from where you filmed the comparisons, recognised straight away!
For me the S23+ falls short, so much it would be useless. I've had android from the S2, 11 years of android. That means 12 years of experience, apps , photos, videos. 256gb isn't enough. My phone is already at 210GB used and I've had it 1 week. That and the 50% extra ram means multitasking would be better suited before having to resort to "virtual memory" which also eat into your available storage. The battery on the Honor is nothing short of amazing. My Previous phone, Xperia 1ii had great battery management, this is a whole new league. I forgot to plug it into charge last night, it's still in 33%. And I'm a moderate/heavy user. Took 80 photos yesterday for example. And the fast charge (included) means it would be full in 1/2 hour. I got mine for 850 with £200 earphones, fast wireless charge stand, extra 2nd case and screen insurance included. For that it wipes the floor with the Galaxy. Just to be clear, I have no brand loyalty and swap brands to what I think is the best at the time. I''ve had Samsung, HTC, Sony and LG. I got the honor because the offer I got, there was nothing close to the value. At the same price and same inclusions I'd still have gone honor. If the s23+ has 12gb ram and 512gb storage it would have been 50-50. As the only Samsung phone with the same ram and storage is the S23 Ultra at 50% more, again it's no contest. If you were also to buy the Samsung: charger, headphones and wireless charger I got included with the honor it would cost £1800+. Its not even close in value for money. One thing I may have missed in the review was the 3d face map. Same as IPhone. It's fast as hell. Uses the same type of setup, 3d face map. It will be unlocked by the time my eyes on the screen. Honor isn't a brand with much recognition, which is fair enough, and is no status symbol. But value for money on the deal I got, there isn't anything close.
I got the same as you £849.99 but got an extra £68 ( £781.99)( cash back ) off with First Xclusives company I work for GWR and I sold my S20 ultra for £260 with few cases and a charger so the Honor Magic 5 Pro cost me £522+ £500 of free gifts 😀 the face unlock is unbelievable so fast
I have both phones, the S23+ has a good flat screen, in the Honor the only thing that bothers me is the cutout on the left side of the screen... Apart from that, the phones are comparable, the photos are a slight plus for the Honor, the battery is also for the Honor, but the overall feel of the system, configuration options for Samsung.
For me, the Honor should be compared to the S23 Ultra instead of S23+. After few months you can find the S23+ for around 900 euros. The Magic 5 pro costs 300 more than that... It should be wiping the floor with the S23+ for the price difference.
The only thing the honor lacks is one more year of os and 8k recording, but it beats Samsung at everything else, even the camera was rated number 1 on a smartphone and also has honor magic desktop to Samsung dex desktop
The 5 Pro has been at about 830 euros now as a slashed price for a little while now though, and it goes for 799 euros with 12/512 base on black Friday/cyber Monday. Most Android phones go for a few bucks less after a few months. The Ultra on the other hand at 8/256 starts at 1329 euros and I havent seen it go down at my local retailer or online yet.
Honor magic 5 pro is my next got 2 month left on my s21 ultra contact and gonna upgrade early. Worst phone I've ever owned battery, storage, speed, charge speed lag p30 Pro 4 years ago was a better phone. Chinese is the way
the comparison is excellent but I think that about the battery you may have been wrong, because more than one comparison showed the battery of the s23+ better than that of the Ultra and even that of the Iphone 14 Pro Max, after all, the battery charge capacity is not everything, and Apple's history against androids that says so, always being more efficient and with less battery capacity. A hug, friend!

This smartphone does not actually have much to envy to an S23 Plus, and from a hardware point of view it is even above. I agree except the pillshaped cutout. It's placed perfectly as opposed to the Iphone's which is way bigger and centered. I have the Magic 4 pro and believe me, it is not at all intrusive when watching content exactly for being placed where all the selfie cameras should be...in the corner rather than in the center on the horizon line, where the action usually is in movies or tv for example. Just my opinion, respect.
@@Felix21411 It is clear that the position of the selfie camera is really more a matter of habit and taste, on the other hand, it is really 3mm too low, which means that even without zooming in a 21/9 video, it crops a little in the picture, I never zoom when I watch a video, that's why I like smartphones with very big and large screens (6.7-6.9'') Ps: I prefer the pill 💊 on the right, like on the S10 Plus, it allows you to have the selfie camera unobstructed when playing in landscape mode or during a video call in landscape mode.
