What an old old far Eastern European place as it gets. While the Soviet Union wasn't officially considered Europe, it's actually far Eastern European in nature to a certain unknown point probably east of where Moscow is located. While there is a debate on whether Georgia is European, it's clearly a far flung area of old Europe.
Hi Gabriel...happenstance on your vlog. There something about your genuine authenticity. I enjoyed your Iceland vlogs, was there serving in the USAF 30 years ago at Keflavik, reminds me as if I have not left. Loved your Albanian vlogs as well. Keep it up.

Chiatura looks almost like a nice place in this video. I've been there one cloudy day in the end of winter, with dirty rests of snow and nothing green around. Nevertheless, people are very kind, the food is good and cable cars are safe. If they were not safe, local people would not let their kids use them every day on the way to school :-)

Good line (as usual) - Feel like we're in a ghost town but there's still people living in it - I could never have gotten my wife into that rusty old cable car. It was hard enough getting her into one of the modern ones they now have in Sarajevo - which, by the way, I see they also have in Batumi. Maybe on your way to Chiatura you passed through Gori?, the hometown of Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili ... you know, Stalin (I don't know if Gori and Georgia are proud of that or not). Cool you buddied up with Daien, another cool Californian - you guys do get around!
Your best video. The crumbling town frozen in time, the dilapidated cable cars, your cool Korean friend, absolutely loved it. I checked out the Kara and Nate video (had never heard of them) and it was a reminder why I love your videos. The 'over the top' style of vlogging is VERY annoying, they had some nice drone footage but I found myself fast forwarding a lot.
Hi Gabriel!!! Great group of posts from Georgia! Especially the trams! Question about your camera...you are now using the Go Pro Hero 7, right? I seem to remember a couple of times you did tech reviews, or at least comments on your old cameras including a Earlier model Go Pro. You mentioned and showed the fisheye effect. I see on this new one it is still fisheye. I understand that can be disabled. May I ask why you don’t disable it? When you pan a shot it becomes very distracting....just wanted to know why you’d choose to keep it. Thanks so much and keep up the great work👍
Yes, I'm using the GoPro 7. However almost all of this video was filmed in the linear mode, which is the narrowest angle possible with the GoPro. The one exception is the clip when I'm in the second cable car and then point the camera out the wind and point it at myself, which was filmed in superview. Otherwise I'm almost always filming at the narrowest angle with the GoPro.
@@RoScFan I haven't tried that camera, but I have a Sony RX 100 VI that I use sometimes. The problem is the stabilization isn't very good. Same thing with my phone, plus it's a pain to hold and film with, too awkward. The gopro is much easier for filming with and the stabilization is amazing so it creates super smooth footage.
I can imagine that the building on the second stop up the cable car was beautiful at one time. Always sad to see special places get run down. What was mined there? coal?

I really have no idea but it's not something I worry about much. Since I've never gotten food poisoning in my life it's not something I'm too concerned with.
