OMG - such a great pianist.... silver medal winner in the 2015 Warsaw Chopin Competition.... the best performer of the Chopin's sonata ...... in such a poor hall..... what a world we are living in......
Apparently Kim Kardashian's arse can fill more illustrious venues than Charles Richard-Hamelin's fingers. *That's* the world we're living in - bit of a bloody hellscape really.
In my childhood I was listening this ballad performed by Svaytoslav Richter. Now I compare everyone's performance with Richter's (this is an imprint in my mind and I regard it as an exemplar performance). This performance is the closest to Richter.
A fantastically unique rendition- etched in drama. The contrasts in his sounds are mesmeric. Really wish he indulged in those slower sections in E flat major a bit more!
Audio (and video, too, for that matter) that is unworthy of this outstanding pianist. I suspect there’s a great interpretation buried somewhere in this mess of a recording, and I hope Richard- Hamelin will get the chance to make a quality audio-video recording in the future. ☹️🎹
Tempo and dramatic pulse is far too slow and weak. This peace is not about peace. So, better hear Horowitz, Rubinstein or Rafal Blechasz. This peace is about a dream of a better world which is not existing.
It's a great performance that won a silver medal in the most prestigious competition

Such a poor audio recording quality. Did the person, who edited it even listened to the end product? I hear shoe movement and breathing all the time.
Yes, you are right. I paid attention to the premises as well...

When someone plays this ballade's intro THAT good, you know what will comes next.
Le Grand Charles Richard-Hamelin! Bravo!
Que gran pianista. Interpretación maravillosa y original con un gran dramatismo. Bravissimo pianista donde los haya.

Listen to Neuhaus; I believe some parts are better than Richters
i like Yuja Wang's better, what do you think?
wow how impressive. It's so refreshing to see a ballade played so well. Just the intro annhilited 99% of other covers from youtube.
All the best from the Northern suburbs of Laredo, TX, corn tortilla capitol of the entire Laredo industrial complex
interpretazione meravigliosa, bravissimo

Anyone think he plays the forte sounds a BIT too loud? Still bravo great performance.

I would prefer to see his hands, not his bulk.
