Well everyone starts from somewhere. I'm still a newcomer to the Mechwarrior fandom in terms of channels. It takes a while to build up trust with the audience.
I’m brand new to the BT universe and your vids have helped me so much with MW5 and learning about the mechs as a whole. Thank you so much for these videos, looking forward to seeing them all.
No problem, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Create a new comment for each question rather than replying though as I'm only notified of brand new comments rather than replies.
Thank you, yeah, I like this one quite a bit. It isn't fancy, but that's what makes it great for people who are newer to the game or people who just want something that works and doesn't require a humongous amount of skill to pilot.
@@GitGudFox I think you did a good job. It's a good balance of lore, mech lab and showcase. It makes for a unique and entertaining style that seems very accessible for new players. Will definitely be leveraging a lot of your concepts in my playthrough!
Another great guide! I use the Rifleman much in the same way but with a pair of Heavy Rifles instead of AC/5s to focus sniping enemy mechs down as quickly as possible.
In my first play through i had 3Ns coming out my ears and had 6 in my rotation during the midgame. My latest i was wanting to try some variations but have only gotten 2, and one of those is the energy variant. The 3n is for sure in my too 5 mechs and this is the refit i have used since starting. Its just solid.
I really like this build we extensively used a version of this during our Full Live Playthrough earlier on. I can see why you picked the ac/5-bf I like both personally. Is there a reason though why you opted for the ac/5-bf over the standard ac/5?
BF is very good on small bore ACs like 2s and 5s. You already don't deal that much damage per shot which then might get spread out on ranges beyond 500m. But that is compensated by the high rate of fire. Large Bore ACs are better with a single shot, as that concentrates the damage into one hit. And anybody who has ever found himself on the wrong end of an ac/20 will attest that, that is a lot of damage.
@JPG.01 yes definitely agree. I do think there is a time and a place for the opposite. Sniping with standard ac/5 is very very powerful in an open battlefield. And vice versa the up close capability of the extra damage provided by ac/10-bf and ac/20-bf can be devastating.
@@GitGudFox the binary lazer is amazing im currently running an awsome with 3 of em and its tanking lmao i run 2 ppx on the crab lol thats fun too ha ha
I wouldn't say it's a sniper. It's a long range direct fire support. Originally intended as a heavy anti-air platform, the Rifleman is not a line combat mech but 3 succession wars made people use 'Mechs where they are not intended which gave the Rifleman a bad reputation. It's effective in it's job when allowed to do it's job. For proper sniper you would have to field the Diana hero mech variant.
Long range direct fire support Mechs are classified as sniper Mechs: www.masterunitlist.info/Unit/Details/2697/rifleman-rfl-3n I go entirely by their rating.
Yes, and while I agree that perhaps the Rifleman is a more specific kind of Sniper since one thinks of a heavy long range rifle as a "sniper" I didn't want to get embroiled in arguments on classification. To simplify it, I just always go with the Catalyst (the guys who run the game) decision on what the Mech's classification is. Example includes the Panther which is classified as a Brawler. Some would argue it's a Sniper. I chose Brawler because ultimately that's what the Alpha Strike rules card says it is.

This channel is so under appreciated

The timing of me salvaging a rifleman just as this video dropped can’t be coincidence.
It is an auspicious omen!
Hey, man! Big fan of this video style. I've been getting back into MW5 unmodded, and this has been a blast! Definitely agree with the build doctrine.
Thank you, yeah, I like this one quite a bit. It isn't fancy, but that's what makes it great for people who are newer to the game or people who just want something that works and doesn't require a humongous amount of skill to pilot.

Yeah I like the heavy rifle model too.
Arrrhhhhh......The Rifleman. I remember using this Mech back in the MW2 days on my mates' DOS computer.
It is the unseed now reseen!
This is 95% the same set up I use. The AC 5 does not suck in MW 5, I like that.
AC5 is probably my favorite weapon in MW5.

Yeah, it's not fancy or sexy, but it just gets the job done.
Good advice. First video of yours I've watched. Enjoyed it, fun history and enjoyed the character.
This was an easy video because it required little research. This Rifleman build is one that I use in basically every playthrough.
Loving the content. Ready for more!!!
Working on the Banshee next. Some Mechs aren't insanely powerful, but they deserve to be documented none the less.

I don't enjoy it as much. I prefer BF on AC2 and AC5 and single fire on AC10 and AC20.

what an amazing video u sir are a true knight of the realm :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The new PPC-X might have created another beginner friendly model, but this one is still quite good.

Love my Rifleman
Not fancy, but it gets the job done.
just got a rifleman in my newest play through im gonna build this
I use this build frequently when I stream assuming it isn't a challenge playthrough where I have to use specific Mechs.
@@GitGudFox no probably my 5th playthrough so maybe i should consider that that!
