- Watch more hedge trimming on this property: • Trimming Loads Of OVER...
My first time trimming this clients hedges, this beech hedge in the front yard is just getting a very light pruning to tidy it up as specified by the customer. We used battery hedge trimmers for this work. This was part of a full days hedge trimming job, more videos of the rest of the property coming soon.
The hedge was checked for any nesting birds prior to work commencing.

The perfect day to start any job, tomorrow. The Marvelous day ever invented, tomorrow. There's nothing a man can't accomplish tomorrow.
Beautiful!
👌
Can’t stop watching your vids 😂
@@mid.bike.crisis nice one cheers 👍
Amazing job
Cheers 👌
Mesmerizing!
👍
Love my Makita stuff it's really come onto its own recently with all the trimmings lately... Love the blade speed for some of the fine hedges like the Buxus and Taxus etc
Yes the blade speed is great, goes through the finer stuff with ease. They are definitely a joy to use for the light trims 👍
@@RJLgardens so much less fatigue after a day of trimming aswell 👍🏻
@@joshuabush2569 Tell me about it, i was using both of these all day at this job and i actually felt okay the next day 🤣
@@RJLgardens feels like a proper workout with some of the heavy petrol kit doesn't it haha. It's nice not stinking of fumes and not having a headache at the end of the day 😀
I have always wanted to do this. It looks so fun. I'm sure it's harder than it looks
Its not that fun after awhile, trust me 😅
I have long hedges like this and I'm a girl
I cut them for 24 years. To me it's easy but I've paid people to help and they couldn't do it.tiu need a good eye and do the same arm movement.
Amazing work. Which hedge fence plants are the best that will last for years and not end up drying/woody/no leaves?
A thorough job on a lovely-looking hedge. How long would it take a hedge to grow to that height from planting 3-4 foot bare root plants? I’d love to plant a beech hedge but fear it would take long years to grow.
Thanks, yes it would take many years for it to thicken up depending on how bushy they are at first. Hedges always take ages to mature, so get a big a size as possible to start with is my advice 👍
@@RJLgardens That’s great. Thank you.
@@HannadayFLO Thanks for that advice Hanna. It’s very reassuring. I’m going ahead with the beech hedge.
How do you get the sides of that hedge so dense? If I cut mine on the sides as you are doing I would have exposed branches everywhere.
Regular cutting is key, and it will thicken up
Probably a silly question, but was there any specific reason you used battery hedge trimmers for this job? Noise?
Yeh, noise, weight, ease of use etc. Its less tiring when doing a full day hedge trimming, plus its was only light growth so perfect for the battery gear 👍
@@RJLgardens Thanks.
What model of makita the shooter one ? but in general battery toolnot lighter the gasolin and olso very noises.... mabe more than gadoline
As usual 👍 you picking the battery gear over petrol for trims yet?
Yeh mate battery all the way for the light stuff now, dont think ive got the energy for petrol kit anymore 😅.
@@RJLgardens 😅glad you got there 👍👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd I think the battery single sider has made the biggest difference for me, its so light and flies through those straight hedges. 👍
Hi, can you tell what materials you are working with petrol or electric? And which brand?
Makita battery 👍
I have used Bosch Hedge cutting equipment in the past, but been a bit disappointed recently. Do you consider Makita kit to be a step above Bosch - I have never used Makita. Thanks for the video..
I haven't used any bosch trimmers so cant comment. I imagine this type of makita kit would be better though. 👍
Great job what's the machine your using
Cheers, its a makita duh754
Thanks
Miss the leaning two stroke
Yeh it doesn't sound quite right does it 😅
Nice one buddy
Cheers 👍
