Daryl the Texans of this times are really badass. Keep them coming!
A very interesting episode!
Was sort of surprised that more value was put on a mule then a horse but then again probably a lot of feral mustangs you could catch
I surveyed land out of victoria in 2011 during the natural gas boom. Port Lavaca to Kennedy up to about Giddings. Had no clue of the history, I didn't know about the battle of Goliad until I moved from there. Love this channel, now I want to go back and appreciate it more than before.
Maybe this can put into perspective how cushy we all have it these days.😀
That dute Turban must of been a rough ol' cob. Shot six times at one time. Then died years later with seven lead balls in his carcass. He'd never be able to get on an airplane, setting off the metal detector, that's for sure.
Kuykendahl is pronounced like this Ker-ken-dahl
Coe wheel uh
Major Kerr looks like a happy bloke.
James Kerr was my 4th great grandmother, Patience Wells, first cousin. James Kerr’s mother was also named Patience Wells. John Henry Brown was my 4th great grandmother’s uncle. Patience was born in Kentucky and was married to my 4th great grandfather, Peter Sapp and lived in Missouri before coming to Texas about 1836 to stay with James Kerr. She brought her two children and in 1838 she married Samuel Shupe, who fought at San Jacinto. They lived in Lockhart area.
@Frank Schnuriger very cool having such prominent pioneers in your family that you can trace and read about
Looks like The native Americans did recognise the impact of the massive immigration to their lands
They were so xenophobic.
I guess they didn't realize that diversity is our greatest strength.
So not only did the immigrants have to put up with trespassers but also murder and thievery, even though they offered friendship those poor colonists had to fight back.
Yes they would be subjected to continuous warfare and have to give up cannibalism.
@@TheCoon1975 If they knew Putin was coming they'd have baked a cake.
It’s Pronounced “kur” Kendall
Can't imagine what it would be like to walk around with seven musket balls in one's body
Shot seven times 🙂don't know if he was lucky or unlucky 😋
I believe the rifle wasn't the best at this time..
Just one little thing: When you mention that no photo exists of such and such historical person, especially persons from an earlier period like this, you need to include the fact that the reason is because photography hadn't been invented yet. It's not that I don't think that YOU know this, it's because the level of historical knowledge of the average person these days is pretty low. I'd guarantee you that there are probably people out there who think that photography was a thing during the founding of the country in the late 1700s. Conversely, I'd also be willing to bet that there are people who think that photography didn't exist until the invention of Polaroids, or even smartphones! If we're talking about something/someone from before about 1839, well, there's no photo of them because there are no photos of ANYONE from before that time!😁
