Usually Grian is the unhinged one but only when there are other responsible people around so the whole collab is even funnier when you realize Grian has resigned to being the designated Adult the entire time lol

Grian can’t be the gremlin because everyone else has stolen the feral energy
an example of the parent friend override, wherein there is nobody around to be a reasonable adult so you step up to the position even though you normally are the feral one

i think my favorite part of this collab is that grian is the mature rational one. meanwhile, in hermitcraft he's pulling shenanigans or starting wars constantly.
It’s all about context I guess lol, when surrounded by mature people he’s a gremlin and when surrounded by chaotic teenagers, he’s like a tired guardian

He only agreed to help calm Mumbo who was the only one who was originally supposed to come.
This is my energy though. Around my "adult" friends (I'm 22 so I'm an adult) I act like a feral child. When I'm around my "less adult" (friends the same age as me) I act like the guardian or more precisely the adult whose been forced to look after her sisters kids.

Usually Grian and Mumbo are so carefree and laughing, yet their humor is so serious when introduced to the dsmp people

I'm convinced that if the video had been longer that Grian would've lost his temper with Tommy. He was ill, and when dealing with a guy like Tommy, I imagine patience evaporates fairly quickly in that situation.
That said, I was actually impressed with Jack's attitude. Besides the tree incident, I think he and Grian would've learnt to get along properly.
Grian was very sick when they recorded this.
I have heard Tommy grumpy too whenever he got sick.

What got me about the grandma was that it was *specifically* a grandma in a "sexy maid" outfit.
I love how dead-inside Grian looks at the end. The look of utter defeat and bewilderment. Tommy broke him and he'll never be the same again.

Makes sense. Grian was sick and only joined for Mumbo. He was also forced to be the responsible one, which usually happens with scar, who's charming and you just can't hate, while Thomas can be a bit annoying when he yells all the time. Combined with them breaking their promise of not swearing, him being a bit miffed isn't shocking.

I find it funny that Mumbo clarifies to Grian that he didn't invite Tommy to HC like he would tell a manager or boss, despite Mumbo being one of the longest running hermits and Grian being one of the shortest running hermits.
Before you get mad, I know that each HC member is on equal footing with each other when it comes to server related decisions, the irony is just comical to me.
I love how in every animatic, Mumbo just gives off Escanor Vibes, is it the "menacingly buff gentleman" way or drawing him? Or his Moustache? I don't know
