Day owl backpacks are awesome! got the biggest one and I sewed patches onto it to make it fit my style. I can easily seam rip the patches off and put another on on if I want and the company will repair it for you if it breaks. It works great for literally every scenario, fits a ton of stuff, and isn't bulky. It's easily my most used birthday present.

Love the shirt! I bought the exact one and it is great! I was so happy with myself that when I went to San Francisco and Yosemite for a week I did it all in a carry one and backpack. Wearing hiking shoes on the plane saves a lot of space, I just had them tied loosely for easy removal. But I agree some sort of packing cube makes a whole difference. Great vid!

I love packing cubes, especially if you're going from place to place. It makes it easy to organize everything quickly. I also use some fabric drawstring shoe bags. I made a few myself, but those fabric bags that sheet sets come in also make great shoe bags. I also use random zippered bags to organize my toiletries into categories - shower stuff, medications, face stuff, etc. Does airport security hassle you about using stasher bags instead of quart-sized ziploc baggies?
I have always used my own personal clear bags and have never had a problem. I’ve even been through security sometimes and they don’t even care to see my liquids 😂
I was looking at the Day Owl backpack too but ended up with the Topo Core Pack because the Day Owl didnt have a water bottle pocket!
actually one of the side pockets can fit a water bottle or umbrella. It doesn't fit anything super big but I can fit my 16oz bottle with room to spare
