My mother tongue is Portuguese, I've been taught American English since I was a child and it was hard for me to try and speak with the British accent, but after I've started learning German, it felt more natural. I've noticed similarities in some aspects and sometimes it is easier to pronounce certain words with a British accent instead of the American one. Thanks for the video, it sure helps a lot!
Thanks so much Izzy for inspiring me. I am a not native but I’m hardly practicing through your videos and I’m thankful for that. Looking forward for more British pronunciation videos.
Thank you, Izzy! Coming from a north American accent and natively a SE Asian, I find it difficult to learn to change my voice placement. Listening to this and practicing those phrases led me to finding the right one *fingers crossed* ; now, my journey to consistency begins!

This is how English should be spoken ... for me when I hear Asians speak English , but then sound American .. it just sounds wrong! It would be better to learn English from an English person , rather than an American ...🙏
@@chrisb.h4605 I'm Asian and I tried to speak both accents when I was learning English. However, I always feel I can't completely lose my Asian accent when I speak British English, whereas I don't have that kind of problem with American English. Not sure why, maybe it's just me.
All have done evil “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) The penalty for sin is hell (Revelation 21:8). Because of Gods love for us Jesus Christ came down from heaven to take the punishment for our sin on the cross in which he was spat on, beaten, mocked and laughed at. Christ died for the sins of the world and The third day God raised him from the dead (Praise God). This was done so that those who believe on Christ will not perish (hell) but have life everlasting (heaven); be justified by Gods grace through redemption in Christ (John 3:16) (Romans 3:24). The blood Jesus shed on the cross washes away our sin if we Believe in The Son of God and his finished work (ordained by God) on the cross. When this happens the believer receives the righteousness of Christ in place of their own unrighteousness (all sins are forgiven) and this makes them saved (going heaven) and they are born again as a Christian. Hello Izzy Sealey, I hope you are doing well. Thank you Izzy for teaching me these 7 words pronunciations to sound in British accent. I really love to speak like a British. These pronunciation is important for me to learn. You have best teaching skills Izzy. Thank you always

Thanks for your suggestions although I'm afraid I'll never be able to lose my American accent (however a polite one). Hi ! Great lesson ! Thank you Izzy. I love it. I couldn't resist to stop the video for three minutes at 6:06... to look deeply into your heart. You are talented, warm-hearted, and optimistic, and you look so charming when you smile
Thank you for the beautiful explanation. Basically the "-er", "or" sound at the end of the words in British pronunciation (RP) is a soft "a" similar to the "-er" sound in german but in german is a hard "a". That is what sounds to me as a portuguese native speaker.
I first saw your video by the one teaching modern RP, and since then, you became my role model!! I love your accent💕and thanks to you, my British accent has improved a lot! - I'll keep trying hard on it with your videos!
Hello Izzy. I come from Indonesia. I've watched your previous video "How to Learn a British Accent". Thank you so much. That video also this really help me understand how to practice British Accent. When I heard your explanation in the beginning I thought wow the way you saying so fast for me...😅 But after listened umpteenth times I understand. I need video like this cause when I learned English at my college mostly my lectures taught American accent.
You're incredibly eloquent, did not expect to enjoy watching these so much! I could probably listen to you for hours; I'd love to see you doing a medicine related channel. 😁 But the term "RP" really bothers me, as it suggests this is the most prominent accent. Unless someone can give me hard evidence to suggest otherwise, I'll be very surprised if that's true. I've only met a dozen people in my life who speak RP. They're usually either retired or went to private school and/or came from a wealthy background. Most of us speak like total commoners. "Hey, s'up pal? 'Ow ya doin'?" 😂
Great clips! I always want to learn the "secret" of the noble British accent. This one is, by far, the most comprehensive clips. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! You are good!
Oh Izzy! I literally LOVE your English, especially your pleasant & beautiful accent ❤ Love your accents & videos♥️✨ Keep making such informative videos✨ And, I'd request you to make more videos on British accent bcz I literally LOVE British accent!!❤

I really love watching your video teaching about RP which is in line with what I studied in the past decades (ref. Hornby's Advanced Learner's Dictionary). I live in Indonesia and am an English teacher. ❤❤
Very great video! In school in Germany we just learned the American accent, because our teachers just can the American accent but I like the British accent much more.
At school more than 60 years ago, our headmaster would not allow us to say "Hello". Instead, we had to say "Good morning", "Good afternoon", or "Good evening", followed by title and last name, or by "sir" or "madam". I can still manage a reasonable imitation of his pre-war Oxford drawl.
As a French native speaker, the r sound is very tricky to do, as the r in French is a bit weird and can be accidentally done if you try to say it with a British accent. I try my best to not sound French, so this video is very helpful! Thank you :)
This is presented very well and easy to understand. I have also noticed that some words ending with a vowel or consonant almost have an "r" sound such as, "drawing," which sounds to me like "drawering," or "idea" which sounds like "idear." Thank you!
