Smokey has some of the best shots of trains, in this case steam tractors, that I think I have ever seen. I am positive i've said this about hmmm... 3 times? but keep up the great work Smokey! It makes me happy to still see these types of youtube videos, I have only ever found two, including this one, which I think is the best :D
P.S. - Also thanks for video on the Durban Rocket in WV. My wife and I will be riding it next week for the first time. Really looking forward to the trip. We have previously riden the Cheat River Flyer out of Elkins and the Cass RR. The fall foliage is suppose to be near peak next week in that part of West Virginia, so it should be a great time to make the trip. Just hope it is not a rainy day as it was the day you made the video. But the wet cool weather that day did make for some great steam and smoke shots. EFrankB
Great video. I visited Townsend twice many years ago with my parents (probably 1960's when I was a teenager and again in the late 1990''s) . At that time there were only a few items on display. But those visits sparked my interest in the New River RR. I've always had an interest in shortline mountain railroads because my mother grewup in Habersham Co. Georgia a stones throw from the Tullaluah Falls Rwy. In fact one of John Kollock's paintings is of the TF station at Turnerville and my grandfather''s (J.R. Shore) general store across the tracks is in the picture. The family lived in the upstairs above the store where my mother was born with the help of a midwife in 1928. I grew up in the Atlanta area but we frequently visited relatives in Northeast Georgia. I have found memories of the TF from my childhood. Small display on TF Rwy at the Cornelia Station. Thanks again for the Little River video. FrankB
My Dad and I derailed the pumper car there a few years ago when we hit a spot out of gauge due to a rotten tie. Where clicking along and went on the ground😂
If 2147 is a Little River locomotive it could be moved to Coldwater Mi where the Little River Railroad is located. Just an idea that came to my mind.
Oh my word! Dorothy looks amazing!
They did a great job, just needs lettering now

Oh yeah! I really like it! Glad we could meet! 0:41 lol it’s me.
It was great meeting you too
@@TNRailProductions_01 Absolutely!
I've passed by there before and I saw the locomotive
I’m glad they cosmetically restored 2147. She looks really nice.
Cool!
Nice
I've been going there about 2 or 3 times a year since I was a baby and I'm supposed to have my name be put on one of the bricks

It derailed a few times this weekend too, not exactly Class 4 track lol
Is there any plans to restore the shay anytime soon
No, its not in great shape mechanically and even if it was there's nowhere to run it
My birthday is tomorrow
