ahhh Louise Linton, the woman famous for making fun of the poor. Glad she's still able to flaunt her wealth for us peasants 👍
Hey Adam. Just wanted to congratulate you on this past year of shows. I know it must have been tough to let go of Bryan and Gina, but Chris is doing a fantastic job with the news and the whole atmosphere so much better.
Why did he fire the big titty chick?
He didnt have a choice, he had to save money for his divorce settlement, Lynette got him for like $30,000 a month.
People should not be writing books or commenting on culture they don’t know, or have been decades away from. Ok. Watch me direct a movie about something I’ve never done before. I love the logical consistency. 👏👏👏
Dana, I was in the military, it was like being in prison, and we used to say we'd done our time. So.. Yeah, I got that reference, even when my uncles and dad came back from Vietnam.
Yep. Even if someone wasn't idiomatically aware, they ought to get the double entendre intuitively, especially a highly rated writer.
Every time Dana is on, it is a treat. Does he have his own podcast? Dude is just funny 24/7
He's had one for years. The episodes aren't as long and magnificent as they were in the early years, but he still puts his heart into them. The first few years were especially great. I revisit those. They were long, hillarious variety shows. He had interesting guests and told stories of behind-the-scenes/seedy Old Hollywood stuff. Since Trump got into politics Dana has developed a annoying case of TDS and goes on the occasional lefty tirade. I've always loved Dana, so I forgive him that sap and hope that he comes to his senses someday.
My feelings exactly

@orangemanok5800 Yeah, very annoying that Dana had an issue with a convicted rapist who is currently on trial in 4 felony cases. I'd say Dana was the one who saw through this criminal and Adam is the one who is deluded. Trump could get convicted in all 4 cases and you and Adam would still vote for him. What does that say about the Maga crowd?
Tommy Shaw and James Young said they did a lot of blow on that tour in 1983 just to go on stage every night- that tour broke up Styx Mr Roboto Tour 1983 was the end of music pretty much to me 1967-1983 were the best years in musical history
I think Tommy was the one on drugs.
Great episode!!! Dana and Adam going on tour and doing a "Show with 2 Heads" would be phenomenal.
Ye Ol Dawson must be high AF this morning. And that Psycho sounds insane
it was about a soldier coming home from Andersonville Prison in the Civil War and he was going to Pennsylvania. He told his girl in a letter, "I'll understand if I should stay on the stagecoach. But if I shouldn't, tie a big yellow handkerchief on the big oak tree outside of town
Before Gavin Mccloud was Capt Steubing, he was murray slaughter on Mary Tyler Moore in the 70's, and before that he was on McHale's navy in the 60's as one of the PT crew. He also had recurring roles after love boat. He looked the same his entire career from his 20's to his 80's.
FYI: I think Louise wants to talk about MOVIES.
I LOATHE BENNY & AND THE JETS
I’m coming home, I’ve done my time NOW IVE GOT TO LEARN WHAT IS AND ISNT MINE . If they didn’t yak through the next line, they could have moved on to another topic
Ol can be used as a word that refers to something that we are all familiar with and have respect for
Yeah. Like "my ol' lady" meaning my wife. It doesn't mean she's literally an old woman.
It's still an abbreviation of old though. Even if your not literally meaning she or it is old, it's still "my old lady".
Yeah man, I'm always saying to my wife, why do they play the same songs constantly, someone who started a station based on obscure songs that you never hear,it seems like it would be a fn hit.
We have a classic rock station that plays bsides. Even the whole side of an album.
Ace i live in San Francisco and cannot tell you how many folks I know claiming to be "taking care of dad" when they are really just trying to be first in line for the million dollar property dad bought for $30,000 in the 1970s. 😂 Dad is usually heathier than the drunk drug adled adult children. Makes me root for Dad to outlive them all!😂
😂 I was just thinking about that the other day. My wife and I have done all of the hard work of showing up to work and paying off the mortgage and our kids and their spouses are just going to get it handed to them some day. Seems unfair.
Tony Orlando's first hit was written for him by Carole King halfway to Paradise in 1961 on Saturday nights I listen to Curtis Seisl the guardian angel guy and Tony Orlando has a show put on WABC just before Curtis's show anyway Tony Orlando minus dawn said that Elvis liked that song not sure if that's true or he just said so I have a Siri about the music program on that station it's like all early sixties like I think probably appeals to the owner operator I only have music programming on Saturday and Sundays not that you care about programming on WABC
GET. IT. ON.
Only if there's a mandate.
The “done my time” is a phrase a LOT of Vietnam era vets would say. Trust me.
A romantic comedy can be categorized as a chick flick. Remove the comedy and you are in hard core chick flick territory.
The song is about a prisoner but it’s been adopted by military wives to celebrate their husbands coming home.
And I think they used it later for Iranian hostages
No, it's about Viet Nam. Why would anyone want to let the whole neighborhood know you had a felon in your house?
That Louise Linton was unnecessarily difficult. 👎🏼
Here's what ChatGPT says about 'ole': "The word "ole" is not a standard English term for "yonder." "Ole" is often used as a colloquial and informal spelling of "old" in certain dialects, as mentioned earlier. The term "yonder" is an old-fashioned or poetic way of saying "over there" or "at a distance." It is used to refer to something that is not close but still within sight or nearby."
Ole Miss has it's origins in slavery. When there were two missus in the house to take orders from, the Ole Miss was the older of the two. How miserable is Mississippi that they not only named their school after a slave master but still refuse to change it.
Dana is one of the funniest people on the planet. I can't get enough Dr. Z
I love Dana. If I watch this do I have to listen to Adam say Derek Chauvin didn't do anything again?
Best Song Ending?
“LOVE IN AN ELEVATOR” - Aerosmith 🔥🎸
It's probably all the preservatives in our food. We're slowly embalming ourselves.
😂😂😂
She's a dope
Time is the lyric because it rhymes with mine. I thought he was in prison too but the military makes more sense now.
THANK YOU for not forcing Dana to do Huell Howser the whole time! I love hearing him just talk.
Booooooo!
That was the most lame comment of the day on PooTube.
I could hear Dana be forced into that by Adam any time. Pure hilarity!
Just here to say-The Great Dana Gould brought up that psycho song, the Elvis Costello cover in 2008 on a music Monday on the radio show during a therapy themed round-and it was great then too!
Beasts of Bourbon have the best version of that song
16:27 in defense of Dawson, I live in the middle of BFE in the Midwest, I've heard "Ol'" my whole life and almost never in place of Old. Usually in the context of another way go say "That dude" or "that thing" when the name was unknown or wasn't coming to mind. "Isn't that ol' boy dating so & so?" or "You know who I'm talking about, ol' boy up the street," "Who's gonna do something about it, ol' boy over there?" etc etc. Almost always a clear difference when referring to one's Old Man/Woman, old truck, dog, etc. 😅
They put Anthony Hopkins in a Cheesecave. LOL I want a T-Shirt with a picture of Hopkins as Lecture, and Brian Cox uttering the words, "They put him in a Cheesecave."
SO true what Adam said about such a small window on how children are raised, in those "vulnerable" yrs, which will impact the remaining MANY yrs to follow! 👏 I'm SO bitter about how I got "shafted", that I'm constantly at odds with My mom, who tries to NOW give Me "life coach advice"! 🤬
She's lucky you're still in her life. Maybe You are codependent or have Stockholm syndrome.
What a crock. Ol' is a contraction for "old." End of story.
Incorrect.
Horrible guest of the year. Poor thing... so sad. She so scared of being herself.
Eddie Noack!!!!!
Psycho is a great country song
Written by the great Leon Payne
Sweet Maddam Blue
Great last full show of the year with Dana and Louise.
Nam songs:
Clarksville (Kentucky/Tennessee border) is home to Ft Campbell and the 101st airborne.
"Cause I'm leaving in the morning
and i must see you again
We'll have one more night together
Til the morning brings my train and i must go
Oh no no no
Oh no no no
And i don't know if I'm ever coming home"
-monkees, "last train to clarksville" 1966
(Gulf of Tonkin was 64 and LBJ went all-in with rolling thunder in 65)
Tie a Yellow Ribbon is definitely a prison song, not a Viet Nam song: "Bus driver please look for me, cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see. I'm really still in PRISON, and my love she holds the key... etc." yw.
Seen Ace on Gutfield last night!
We don't have enough time for Mr roboto
Dana ALWAYS brings it! Great shows this year Adam. Chris is killin’ it ~ Mahalo!
60 yrs old smoke marlboros and a few joints everyday! Plus Six pack of Bud! Look nothing like that guy. Genetics?
A song for a sconces
Hence Thousand Oaks. Rim shot.
5:46 lmfao 37! Does he know about the magic number?
She is a coward
LOL Perfect Dawson moment at (16:30).
Love Serendipity
Tony Orlando found out the hard way that it's not a good idea to sleep with your coworkers, one morning when he woke up at the crack of Dawn...
The chandeliers and sconces and all types of fixtures and fittings are not left in a house because you'll never get the person buying the house to adequately pay for them as a lot. You remove them and sell them to one or more dealers who can get what they're actually worth.
I love this show so much.
Doing your time does refer to the military. Especially if you were drafted!
Never thought I'd say this but now I want to know what the fuck is going on in Zambia.
Benny and the Jets is and was a fine tune.. it just got fucked out.. like so many before and since
Deep Purple and Van Halen never played a festival nor toured with Styx, never...Journey played with Van Halen in the 78 Texxas Jam..Deep Purple co headlined Cal Jam 1 in 74 with ELP and Black Sabbath...
Bennie and Jets and all that Tony Orlando shit was 73 not 75
Get your fucking festival facts straight ..LOL 🤣🤣
Saw Montrose, van Halen and journey in st Paul in 78. Left during journey (pre-Perry) After Ronnie Montrose and Eddie VH, journey paled
There were two Styx.... Dennis DeYoung Styx and Tommy Shaw Styx.... The Tommy Shaw version did some decent-good stuff.... man in the wilderness, boat on the river, too much time on my hands, renegade, blue color man... The Dennis DeYoung version seemed okay at the time, but absolutely none of the songs held up more than a couple of years. If he hasn't expired already, he'll go out singing to crowds of little old ladies like he's been doing for the past 25 years.
Dennis, Tommy, and JY did a great job of complimenting each other. Renegade started out as being influenced by Alan Parsons Project. Dennis was the one who suggested turning the energy up. Also, for example, Dennis came up with the distinct keyboard intro for Blue Collar Man. As for Crystal Ball, Tommy wrote the song before joining Styx. It's on UA-cam. Dennis and JY also helped to make the song what it became. Just a few examples. On a side note, Dennis and Tommy's voices have aged very well. They're singing in the original key.
Well Zambia sounds absolutely charming.
Adam you are a rich dude now, are there any rich people that don't do cocain at all ?
Adam is so true about people not looking old these days. My grandfather died at age 57 in 1967, I saw pictures of him and he looks like he's in his 80s.
No one younger than 65 that grew up in America has lived during wartime. War ages people. I know people who had to eat chalk for calcium during WW2.
How come you guys did not trash : Copa Cabana ???
I've got a new theory, if you were born pre 9/11,you might be alright, if not you're probably screwed.
Might be on to something here. I'm wondering what it looks like studying people "born" before VS young enough to remember the day and feel the emotional impact, the terror, the unknown, and the way people came together. I've been thinking about this same comment for a while, and it is interesting to read that someone else is thinking on the same lines.
Haha! She thinks that people are aware that she wrote a failed book. I've never heard of this narcissist before this interview.
Way to hang in there, Ace!
@@criticalmoment3859 Daily/nightly show hosts need gap-fillers. That's all she was.
Where did I say, "sociopath?" Those terms aren't synonyms. Narcissism has relationship to psychopathy, but sociopathy is an entirely different category... like a retarded gangbanger, etc; someone on the outskirts of society.
Happy New Year!
trump now 11/10 @ PP, just sayin 😀.
*It's "Yonder" meaning "the" as in, there's only ONE and it's "that one, right there!" Get it???* 😳
No Heulls Jewels :((, but still great
OGs know Corolla's favorite band is The Who. Fantastic pick.
Most overrated band ever never thought they were that great
Guess we’re gonna just overlook the whole child porn thing since they “Rock”.😢
@@Sigmund1924 they were pioneers in more ways than one.
I love manhunter! I agree with adam. Manhunter is better than red dragon!
In the Bizarro World, “Tie A Yellow Ribbon” manifests as Social Distortion’s “Prison Bound”. Just fyi.
What a strong start to this show with Dana that as always is a great time with him and respect to Louise with her work filming. I just love these special guest who come on the show and learning about what they do thanks to Adam.
There’s actually an album from Nick Cave called Murder Ballads. It’s one of my favorites but I wouldn’t recommend playing a few of the explicit songs around your elderly relatives or Christian neighbors.😬
I want to know more about Zambia now lol
1:45:38 is this the first time Adam has admitted to being idiosyncratic? I remember years ago Bald Brian was trying to insist that Adam was idiosyncratic, and the Ace Man would not accept it. At the time, to me it sounded like Adam just didn’t really understand the definition of the word.
Style has a lot to do with people who look old. If you took 60 year old Hans Conried and gave him a makeover today, you could make him look younger.
Dana was also a great guest on Amazing Colossal Pod w/ Gilbert. Another not targeted at kids pod haha, all obscure and old old
Wtf is. Dey. N wmond
Jeez, Adam got fat.
is adam the guy that just perpetually falls out of bed on the wrong side literally every single effing day????
I have sold hardware to Liz at Liz’s Hardware on La Brea. Not a good experience. Her art gallery events are great however.
Recycle, it’s good for the bottle it’s good for the can,
A gem from the state of California.
Dana Gould. No thanks. Catch you tomorrow.
Good ep
"Seinfeld' van, is this seinfeld' van seinfeld' van"
I think I’m with Dawson
Fuck yeah Waddy Wachtel 🤘
Bla
Bla
Bla
Great guest 😂
Oh boy...
The great wrong way Feldman
Gilligan, nice catch
It became big due to the Iranian hostages in 79'.
And be quiet Dawson!
Carolla 2024!
She fine!😍
Louise Linton is married to a billionaire, that is how she is able to make films. No talent who-orrr
What a weird guest switch, between Dana and Louise Linton. She seemed like she was way out of her element and just trying to hang on to the conversations.
She's up there with Elliot Gould and Jane Goodall.
Adam throwing crappy comic's a bone is nice. Makes them funny for a moment.
hey, wouldn't it be cool if Adam made another channel about car stuff and carpentry and plumbing.... you know, man shit. wouldn't it be awesoime if there was a show on tv/cable just dedicated the ordinary man? wouldn't it be awesome if Carolla hosted it and maybe his buddy Jimmy Kimmel? Maybe, just maybe it'll happen.......
Ole Im with Dawson, it's something old and far away from you.
Ol' has many meanings. It can be ol' man Smithers - the boss. good ol' boy - your friend, Ol' oak tree - a prominent tree.
Ol' technically only has one meaning, it's an abbreviation of the word old, with the ' replacing the d. It can be used in all the ways you mentioned (except yonder), but it is always just an abbreviation of the word old. It's just used in an affectionate/friendly way.
Styx Equinox is a smoking album 🤘🏼
Absolutely. I knew Adam would be hard on Styx. Dennis, Tommy, and JY complimented each other very well.
