      @thickbrianq 5 місяців тому

      @so_cal8057 the Mekko makes a water and herb based Medicine that you fast and then drink, it cleans you out both orally and in other ways. Since the Medicine is drank its called taking Medicine.

    I'm Chikashsha, and man you Mvskoke are blessed! We no longer have any medicine men, green corn, medicine, or many of our old traditions regarding tobacco, yaupon, cedar, etc. I don't like to complain, but it's just tragic. But ya'll are our brothers! Good to see the old ways still being celebrated by ya'll. Yakkookay, chipisala'cho!

      Wiggins Mvskoke descendant here...definitely hear what you're talking about with the influences! I thought I was the only one! I've been saying this to everyone and they're all like, "what're you talking about?"...oh well, anyway, I would also go further to say that melodically, rhythmically, and counting structure-wise as well as vocals, I'd say this music and its contemporaries IS the template on which multiple branches of American music are based - blues, rock and roll, gospel, jazz, even to a lesser extent country and western... American Indian music IS American music

      The tribes shared songs and there ways with each other long ago, many of the tribes still use these songs today as theyve been passed down for generations. It suprises a lot of people to hear the same songs from differnt nations but they fail to realize our ancestors traveled all across the continent north, central and south america so there is a lot of history between the nations.

      cards only help us get counted by the feds really if our tribes would really act upon sovereignty we wouldnt have to eal with it but some things are still stuck in the old days.....but if you're recognized than one benefit tho not the greatest you can go to indian health service anywhere in the country an get care. if we had some better leader representing us things could get alot better but we need to wake our tribal citizens and unite them for real change to happen. thank you for commenting... please dont forget to subscribe an hit the bell to stay updated on the latest
