i learned the hard way going from grade 5 to grade 8 shear pins actually does the opposite than you would think you would think since it's a higher grade bolt it would be tougher but actually a tougher pin will actually shear faster cause it doesn't have the flex of a softer pin!!
This is all secondhand information there is someone in our area that spreads water treatment line it is supposed to be fast acting and it is cheaper but it doesn't last as long as regular lime alot of growers do this with short-term leases Hope this helps
That shouldn't have been too difficult as long as the lime was not too wet. When you gotta close the door down that much for a 1/2 ton it causes feeding problems with wet lime. My experience anyway.

@@FarmerMD if that's true then u need to fly up here in Canada as it Legal to smoke or have a small amount. i think its a 30gm u can buy at the smoke shop. but u need ID to enter the shop, we, me and twin bro got our uncle to get us some last year 1 can or 3grams it was $10, we were 16, first time smoking it, well as it looks like we will have those 3 grams for quite a long time, neither of us 2 like that feeling.

How fast are you going and How far open do you have your gate?
I'm at about 1900rpm 6.8mph with about a 6" gate opening. Look at 11min35sec mark to see the gate opening.

I had to spread lime at a half ton per acre on 60 acres. I equated it to trying to spread a sock full of chalk dust evenly on a foot ball field.
