- An advanced high-performance mobile suit developed by the Kingdom of Foundation using ZAFT technology. It utilizes many advanced technologies, such as the new Femto Technology Armor to defend against beam weaponry. It uses a two-seat tandem cockpit arrangement with the pilot at the front, and the rear gunner controlling the suit's weapons.
The Cal-re.A is heavily inspired by the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam, and mirrors many of the latter mobile suit's abilities. In C.E.75 The Cal.re-A was deployed at the height of the Foundation Conflict. It was piloted by Orphee Lam Tao and Ingrid Tradoll, and escorted by several AMO-01 Ziggurat to fight Kira Yamato and his ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II. The combined assault of the Cal-re.A, the help of Shura Serpentine's NOG-M1A1 Shi-ve.A, and various support ships pushed the the Strike Freedom to its limits, not only destroying many of its weapons and draining it's energy reserves in the process, it also forced Strike Freedom Phase Shift armor to deactivate.

Speaks volumes of the amount of effort required to take down Kira in the SF Type II. Ironic considering Orphee mocked the SF Type II as being old-fashioned yet he employed that much resources and even had Shura (and Ingrid) to tag team with him, in order to defeat the SF Type II

The Dragoon system is overall the highest form of mobile suit weaponry, this guy not only has Destroy gundam calibre dragoons, and a BUNCH of them, but he also has 3 remote controlled warships just waiting for laser targeting designation. SF so strong in Seed Destiny that it has never been scratched til this movie, then again it would be a different conversation if it was a one on one match.
@@johnpaulgonzalez9016it mirrors the Provindence Gundam in terms of Numbers. Providence has 11, 3 Large and 8 Small. same thing goes to Calrea. 8 (3 beam guns/blades each) and 3 Mega size Dragoons (Zigurat)

They even put Femtek armor on the Dragoons! Beams can't shoot them down. Kira has to use railguns to destroy them.
All of the black knights were hard countering kira since they DID see him as both the biggest threat and a failure who couldn't become their equal.
That gives me an idea
They learned their lesson since Kira defeated Rau and Rey’s dragoons
which is very clever on the director to make that idea
The Black Knights' weren't just designed to counter Kira and the Freedom. Foundation designed their mobile suits to counter all modern mobile suits because everyone had their own version of phase shift armor and that forced all the militaries to upgrade to beam weapons.

I agree. I find it pretty amusing (despite it being unsurprising) that Rey and the Legend Gundam, as the final boss of GSD, was nothing but a walk in the park for Kira.

It is based on SF after all. They managed to get a hold of SF for a while and study it in and out.
BKSシリーズの最上位機種で、オルフェとイングリット専用機。
機体名とは裏腹に白に金の装飾をしているのが特徴的なデザインのMS。
SEED FREEDOMにおけるラスボス機。
ファウンデーション版ストフリのようなもので、専用ドラグーンと付属の大型ドラグーン・ジグラートを駆使した戦法を得意としている。
劇中ではシュラのシヴァとの連携でストフリ弍式を追い詰めるが、マイフリになった後は逆に追い詰められ、最終的にフツノミタマの一撃で撃墜された。
尚、本機はSEEDシリーズ初のガンダムタイプではないMSがラスボス機を務めた機体でもある。

The power of Seed's gundams have come a long way.
LMAO, I remember WAY back, while watching the early episodes of Seed. I scoffed and said: "Man, the Gundam Wing guys would pulverise Seed guys."
Now, just Kira could probably solo the Wing team.
While the Wing Gundam series did has better protection against beam weaponry, Seed Freedom machine will absolutely own them. I'm actually would love to learn more about the Frozen Teardrop era Gundam so that we can compare.

Its Buster Crossbow is actually a twin-barrel type, was named "Seven Dwarves". It can fire, via special nanomachine magitech cartridges/canisters, a different elemental shot (yes really; fire, electric, water, wind, ice, etc) from each barrel, which can react with each other to do magitech stuff.
Firebird - Fires off a vaguely bird-shaped mass of fire that can home in on targets.
Blue lightning - Can cause a lightning storm in the local area of impact, or combine with another shot to make a massive electrical beam.
Ice swan - Can instantly freeze anything within the AoE.
Black tornadoes - Creates a localized cluster of tornadoes at the target point, which can tear off armor panels on enemy units and damage nanomachines.
White emp storms - Creates a localized EM storm at the target point, which is powerful enough to disable comms and short electrical systems.
It has an earth-themed round that drills through cockpits.
It has an ammo type that binds you and causes your weapons to damage you if you use them.
It has an ammo type that shuts down enemies.
It can combine the elemental ammo to create unique and devastating effects.
It has enough power to outright put a hole in the moon (and reportedly does so).
The armor uses advanced nanomachine technology that would put the Turn A and Turn X to shame; being able to repair damage almost instantaneously (like DG Cells in G Gundam or Machine Cell Mecha in SRW). Snow White was NOT damaged by 3 POINT BLANK shots from weapons MORE POWERFUL THAN THE TBR.
It's so fast, it can create afterimages with speed alone.
It's immune to enemy nanomachine tech and anti-nanomachine tech.
Has a more powerful Zero System.
Some speculation based on poorly translated excerpts imply that the SW's Zero System is now able to actually show the future in short bursts; instead of just showing the immediate predicted possibilities, it can also show the aftermath of said possibilities.
Just as an extra, Warlock (Deathscythe's successor) is also borderline BS.

Illusion system that can create tons of mirages like the moon, giant rabbits and clones. Only limited to the pilots imagination. Works better at night.

Uses nanomachines of its own. It has used them to make 50+ clones and tens of thousands of bats to destroy enemy units.
MSF can solo entire Wing series lol.. Lightning attack is enough. No one survived unless the mobile suit is made of rubber (Hello Luffy)

前回は技量未熟な相手だったからこそ圧倒できたものの今回は同格以上の相手になり、まさにストフリ自体が抱えていた欠陥が表面化したと言っていい戦闘でした。

レイも含めてシンもかなりの腕だったし、ミーティアがんがん使って要塞まで落としてる。ピーキーな所はあるが火力は当時最強クラス。
今回はインフレしすぎと、新型からの飽和攻撃を受けてダウンしてるだけだよ。
一瞬でいいからカルラのビームライフル二丁持ちやビームシールド使ってるシーンを見たかった

Does the armor hold up against other beam weapons like the twin buster rifle or other gundam wing weapons since they function differently
Kinda depends on distance, the longer the range, the more energy it require to shot since the beam can disappear after reaching it maximum range

Rau was truly something else. He is the kind of villain that speaks only pure untwisted truth he reached himself instead of what others put in him like Orphee just kept blabbing and believing someone elses justifications for cruelty. He'll always be the ultimate villain. The 1 that scarred Kira the most.
So Cal-re.A is a play on the word Kāla; meaning inevitable death or referring to an avatar of Shiva and Karura, the Japanese title for the Hindu deity Garuda; king of the birds and God of strength and vigilance. So if put together in a way, Cal-re.a literally means "Bird of Death" which is quite sick as hell.

1:26 ウイング展開時によく見ると左の一番上のドラグーンが無い。撃ち落とされた一機分やね。
カルラのドラグーンってよくみると、スーパードラグーンは接近攻撃で撃退してるんだな。同様の武装はストフリにもあるらしいけど、初使用がコピーされた物の方とは（コピーとは厳密には言わないだろうけど）。二刀流なのはストフリは二刀流が多かったから、その戦闘データを反映させたからなのか。
こいつはブラックナイツの機体で一番かっこいいと思ってる（コンセプトがストフリに近いのもあるけど）

If you watched the movie, you should remember that the Strike Freedom have been destroyed in the Freedom’s incident by one black knight MS and the black knight after destroy the SF, they also got it information
And especially the fact that the enemy can read Kira’s mind, Kira know this so he didn’t risk his chance using the beam saber
With the new backpack, it possible to defeat the enemy 1 on 1 since the new backpack beside recharge and cooldown the battery, it also increase the firepower for all the weapon the SF have

What was Kira's intention exactly? He could have stabbed the center of the cockpit, but he pierced the right side of it, slicing Orphee's right arm. xD
doesn't help that Athrun we're initially used the Freedom as a diversion against Shura, and by the time Lacus was saved, the latter knew the exploits against the Freedom
사실 오브에 레퀴엠 사격각 잡을때도 그랬지만 정신만 잘 챙겼다면 마리덤 자체가 나올일없이 깔끔하게 게임끝내는건 파운데이션에겐 가능했다 못해도 기회가 3번이상은 있었을터에 순간순간의 분노에만 치우쳐서 말아먹은게 컸음

2식이라고는 하나 스트라이크 프리덤 성능이 저때도 그렇게 넘사는 아니지 않았나요? 라이징 프리덤보다도 안 좋다고 들었는데
그닥 별로 사기도 아닌데.. 그동안 무장 업그레이드도 안하고 뭐했는지 ㅋㅋ 마리덤 상태로 광역기 쓰는거 빼고는 계속 쳐맞고 죽을뻔 하다가 아스란 때문에 산거지.. 무장도 블랙나이트 카룰라에 비해서 압도적으로 밀림
