rim brake road bikes are beautiful!
I agree, disc brakes on road bikes is so dumb 🤦♂️
Agree
Then we all agree!
Always amazes me how badly people maintain their bikes no matter how cheap or expensive. Cheers.
This bike had simply been ridden hard, we love to see it🧡
Just been riding the hell out of it
Garage queens are for the garage.
Usual spectacular job of servicing this. Cool felt road bike.
Thanks for the support, glad you’re enjoying all the videos🧡⚙️
Top drawer job as always. Nice to see a bike used and enjoyed , with a service crew keeping it on the road safely.
Our thoughts exactly. Ridden hard and serviced professionally, that’s the dream life for a bike🧡⚙️
appreciate the tiny detail of lining up the BB shell logos. Very few will ever see that, but you take the time to do it anyway 👊
This is the way! Thanks for the comment 🧡⚙️
If I were to install this same BB, I'd align it so that when the bike is upright, the logos are on the 12 and 6 o'clock points, instead of lining them up with the seat tube.
Great video as always. Interesting brake track on those wheels. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the inboard cable clamp on Shimano rear derailleurs as you have to cut the cable short so it doesn't foul the spokes. Gone are the days when you could easily remove inner cables and lube the inside of outer gear cable.
Exactly! It’s a shame because you can’t take them off the bike without recabling the bike which to us is a terrible design🧡
Usual quality as always guys ! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you from both of us🧡⚙️
Lovely bike, lovely job👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!🧡
Wow, great service. The rear brake position is a shocker, not a great design by Felt. Thank you again for your great videos.
We have another one coming next week believe it or not! Rare chances getting two back to back like we did 🧡⚙️
Nothing like the satisfaction of ready to roll bike 😎…..simon👍
Agreed 😎🧡
Great video and love the attention to details!! I’m a bike mechanic and when I’m working on bikes it’s those little details that the customer may not ever notice but it makes the bike ride way better.
We find it’s those details that they do notice and that’s what we’ve built our reputation on! We really try set every bike up like it was our own, thanks for all the support🧡
learn new things about bikes everyday, didn't even know rim brakes could be mounted in that location.
It’s a system that has its flaws, definitely traditional rim brakes will serve you better! Thanks for watching🧡
A nightmare on one of my bikes. Hard to adjust and get covered in dirt.
I have a 2007 Felt F2 w/ full Dura Ace that is still my favorite ride to this day, definitely faster than I’ll ever be but so much fun to ride. She gets cleaned, detailed, adjusted regularly and add to that the frame, wheels, brakes and anything else within my reach gets a ceramic coating twice a year and she looks phenomenal!
Wow that’s great maintenance!🧡⚙️
Another fine service. Because of your videos im much more confident stripping and cleaning my bikes. Thanks 😎🇫🇮
That’s great! I’m sure you know your way round the giants nicely now after a couple years of videos!🧡⚙️
@@Bikespeeds true, I had the cranks off at the weekend to clean and degreaser 😎🇫🇮
Lovely job, I know internal gables are a bit of a pain to work on but no rubbing on the frame is a bonus
We have a nightmare nightmare bike for internal cables coming next week! That one is proving a handful🧡
Always a pleasure to see a service episode...!
Glad you enjoyed it, we’re having to ease off the videos at the moment for a refit of our shop but should be back to regular servicing soon🧡
Nice videos, great detail as always 👍👍
Thank you very much Robert!🧡⚙️
Nice one
Our pleasure, thanks for the support!🧡
Fantastic this bike really needed service. Can we have more videos like this please ❤👍🏾
Absolutely!🧡
I bet the bike owner had a learning curve when they got that bike back. Great watch, thank you for the video.
Like a different bike this one!🧡⚙️
I’ve also got a 2020 Felt Fr road frame, what a pleasure to see a magician take care of it ! Still amazing videos, perfect job !
This one goes out to you then! Thanks for watching Max🧡⚙️
Muito bom os vídeos um fã aqui no Brasil ❤
Thanks for watching!🇧🇷🧡
Love the videos. Is it possible for you to weight all the components before you clean it and then weigh it after? It would be nice to have some sort of comparison to see what amount of buildup a bike gets.
It would be a very very small difference, maybe a few grams if even
@@allenincabra it is just as a comparison, the weight in itself doesn’t matter. But it would be interesting to see if using oil based lubricant or wax lubricant makes a significant difference. If the comparison showed that a ‘clean’ looking bike also had the same weight as a ‘dirty’ looking bike then it would help people understand that regular servicing is more important than they realise.
Just before Covid hit I bought myself a Rockrider ST520 MTB. It was at the cheap end of their range but I liked the look and it fit me well (I'm 1m90)
It came with a "free inspection" after 3 months of use but A) Covid hit and B) no way I was letting those spanner boys near it. I saw the way they treated other customers bikes and how they spoke bull 💩 to them and me.
As it turned out, it didn't get used much and I will be doing my own service in the coming weeks. I trust myself a lot more than anyone in that particular shop.
Enjoy your time working on it! Good luck with it all🧡

Thanks, I only got the confidence from watching you at work.
Excellent service, just in time by the looks of things.
Couldn’t have come sooner!🧡⚙️
This is the last channel im subscribed to that brings me joy
Thanks Nick we really appreciate the support!🧡⚙️
stunning job
Thank you!🧡
Welcome back, you guys set the golden standard for service 🎉
We really appreciate it Martyn!🧡⚙️
Crackin' job yet again.
Thanks John!🧡⚙️
Nice work as usual 😊👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much!🧡
I’ve never seen that carbon weave before-you sure did restore her to her full glory ❤
Glad to see you still enjoying the channel! Thanks as always 🧡
Would love it if you did a freehub sound check on each bike 😅
Freehub sound check 😂 Noisy hubs remind me of my childhood days when we used to peg a playing card on the seat stay to flick against the spokes to sound like a motorcycle 😂
Or a bottle wedged on the back tyre 🤣
The B screw probably needed adjusting because the toggle link (Shimano call it the 'bracket axle unit' Y3E998020 for Ultegra) was too high and not against the stop on the hanger. Its easy to tighten them in the wrong place because the action of tightening the derallieur attachment bolt tends to pull the toggle link up like it has here.
Great job as always 👍👏👏
Thanks very much!🧡⚙️
I’m Second comment then😜
Loved this one and always a pleasure to watch you work,Also annoying that I have my own Mountain bike that’s been Convalescing for months since the Hydraulic brakes just stopped working and I know it more than likely needs a new Chain and Cassette but there’s no Bike repair service like yours close to me and I just don’t want to have a DIY go and Mess it up🙈
Good luck with getting it solved! Thanks for all the support🧡⚙️
@@Bikespeeds Thank you Sir and
Ironically I’ve Found a Repair Service and it’s Close to me But even though I’ve lived here nearly 11yrs I honestly never knew he was there🙈 (oh and he does a pick up/Drop off Service😮
great vid, love the bike .
Great purchase for the price!🧡
As always perfect 🎉
Too kind thank you!🧡
Amazing transformation.
Thank you!🧡
I love my FELT road bike! Great video! Steve in Minneapolis.
Thank you Steve!🧡
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!🧡
Wow. Another cracking job and what a difference from before to after 🎉👏👏👏 Wanted to ask about the b screw, adjustment, what is it you're looking for a d adjust too when you make the adjustment?
The B screw adjustment is down to the gearing you are running. It will bring the jockey wheels closer or further away from the cassette to help guide the chain across the cassette more positively. I always perform this in the easiest gear the bike has and then check the chain length in the two smallest cogs to make sure it doesn’t need shortening after the adjustment. I recommend a distance of around 5mm between the jockey wheel and the cassette in the easiest gearing.
@@Bikespeeds thanks very much for the insights Lee 🙌 love this channel
Wow perfect
Thanks!🧡⚙️
Nice job! Can you show us you do which part is which nm? Next video. For example: Brakes 6 nm, pedals 20 nm etc...
Thanks!
great looking bike
whats your opinion on DRY lube vs normal lube?
im experimenting with Finish line dry lube. seems cleaner and less build up and sticky
ill get an idea about wear after i put more miles on it
In general, dry lubes aren’t great but that’s not to say you might not have found a good one. We find that they end up in a grinding paste so keep an eye on build up 🧡
Is the vinyl tape that you sell on your website the same as electrical tape? Are they two different things?
Much different. It’s first of all more sticky so doesn’t peel up like electrical tape which to us is far more pleasing. And it’s also brings the depth of paint even in the black. So it doesn’t stand out like electrical tape and even glosses up with a layer of polish over the top. If you like your bikes to be mint it’s that last 10% of details that takes it to perfect 🧡
@@Bikespeeds Thanks so much. I'll. buy some.
Thank you Leslie!
Gorgeous transformation! Did the brake pads still have life left in them? They looked well knackered in the before shots.
Yes they did! Thanks for watching🧡⚙️
Having worked in as many groupsets as you have, which wouldnyou say give the most useful features for the money to a non competitive cyclist?
I run 3x8 speeds, and have older 105, sora, deore and altus on different bikes. The seals and bearing race quality, as well as the springs and "wiggle" tolerances, are significantly different. So, out of the latest incarnations, would you recommend, say, tiagra/alivio or have they not benefited yet from trickle down tech improvements? (I daydream of _a perfect setup_ more than I'd likento admit.)
Thanks for keeping this channel, it's quality content and you have honed a great formula for your videos. Cheers!
There are so so many different variants of each range I don’t have an answer that even comes to mind. In terms of “wiggle” anything up from ultegra is perfect and everything down from there is about how much you’re willing to spend and how much it matters to you. Having said that 105 is very durable and offers as good value on the low end as ultegra on the high end 🧡
Curious where this person rides their bike as was there grass in the rear derailleur and left crankarm? Interesting rear brake location as it reminds me of early mountain bikes that had that design. Just curious if press fit bottom brackets are more trouble than they are worth. Another great service, thanks guys.
We actually have many of the plants you saw stuck in the derailleur locally, so just about anywhere is the answer to that one. We rarely see this brake set and now we’re doing another one for next week! And yes press fit bottom brackets can be an absolute nightmare, they’re low quality and occasionally we end up replacing ones we’ve fitted through no fault of our just poor manufacturing!🧡
Nice job buddy 👍🇬🇧
Thank you Leslie! We appreciate you coming back to the channel across all the years 🧡
Lovely stuff. Just wonder though, how come you never take the peddles off the cranks so that you can put the whole crank in the ultra? Wouldn't that be easier to clean?
Great video as always!
However is the quicklink the right way around?
Hi
As always a very informative video. Thanks. Now can you provide the name of the bearing puller you used for the bottom bracket and cup removal?
This was bought many years back so unfortunately I have no idea where I got it from sorry!🧡⚙️
Who decided it was a good idea to put the rear brake on the chain stays where it's constantly bombarded by road grit?
The marketing department that also put the holes in the rim.
It’s not the most popular system that’s for sure⚙️
Do you have the torque spec by make/model available for download?
👍
Thanks James🧡
Hello Lee,
What Liquid do you use in the ultrasonic cleaning machine?
Greetings from Brazil.
We use a water soluable degreaser🧡🇧🇷
What are your thought on chain waxing?
Check out some our videos on it! We love it, it does require some cost for regular maintenance but if you’re serious about your riding it’s the way to go🧡
What do you think the bottoms bracket brake ?
For mechanics, that's a bad idea. It's much trickier to work on than a seatstay-mounted rim brake.
Yes, it’s tricky and doesn’t offer much benefit!🧡
Wednesday’s ritual saved
Haha our Wednesday ritual is a massive edit and a late night headache lol!🧡
awesome cleanup, but i don't understand how anyone can let their bike go this dirty and worn.?.??..
Hard riding! We’ve got nothing but respect for a dirty bike 🧡
@@Bikespeeds couldn't agree more, but i do the same and i maintain my bike regularly and i never get this mucky
dragging front rim brake. Does this rider even deserve Zipp 404's? lol🙈
First comment?
Thanks for joining us!🧡
Can't believe people can't service their own bikes....i can literally build one from scratch (Just a frame) in less than an hour including brake adjustment and indexing 🤷
Awesome🧡
WOW!
A dirty bike is so ugly
We love a dirty bike, they make for a great video!🧡
People who treat bikes like this need to have their 2 wheel ownership card revoked….
