Don't ever change the way you plant Steve, your neatness gladdens my heart. I've tried Strulch after a recent video of yours. Thank you! I only have a small kitchen garden and have had zero slugs since applying the mulch. Also, it looks so tidy which is definitely my thing 😊
As I always say, tidy is efficient, it just makes sense. if you've got a lot of time on your hands then you can try untidy gardening techniques like polyculture, but if you want to grow a lot of high quality food in a few hours a week tidy wins : All the best - Steve
Another great video, Steve. Glad your seeds arrived in time. My goodness, you can see the clouds of whitefly zooming around in front of the camera! Ive been quite lucky this year, but that whitefly killer is a great tip. I didnt realise there was anything for them. I also figured out to harvest sungold a little bit early, much better, no splitting. Im surprised how long they last in the house in a tub with no lid. Theyre still good 4 weeks later! I didnt grow late tomatoes because ive no greenhouse, but were still eating sungold from the polytunnel and have a few weeks supply left. The green ones i harvested are ripening up nicely and are providing a good staggared 'harvest' hope they taste as nice, ill soon find out. All the best- Alison
Let me know! Last year I spent about £9 a week on tomatoes from October onwards, so I’m enjoying an unexpected windfall, should easily pay my greenhouse bills for winter at this rate, ignoring any other harvests
I’d just sprayed the plants, which is why the whitefly were in flight, they usually just stay static in the leaves. Anyway now, they are about 90% reduced!
@@SteveRichardswill do. It's such a bonus to have tomatoes this late. I'm so pleased. It's the first year ive grown sungold and they are proving to be wonderful, they're definitely a keeper. The tumblers I harvested green, are ripening up, but definitely missing the flavour, still good for cooking though, it seems to intensify the flavour somehow.. All the best- Alison.
There’s only a few days a year when I’m not in shorts, the ideal clothes for me as I switch between swimming, hiking, cycling, gardening and yoga : all the best - Steve
Sungold are so sweet and they are a good late variety. I didn't sow mine until May and they've been great, they do split though, Honeycomb are similar and split less : All the best - Steve
@SteveRichards thank you👍🏻 I'm growing outdoors amd start March 1st👍🏻 I tarped over a few times but other than that, down South they had all the elements! (No pesticides, just a headlamp slug removal from pot growing!)
@SteveRichards sorry, seeds in pots 1st March, outdoors when ever the temperature warms up/ Easter time/1.5ft tall. The "hot" has been in May June so its maximising that window.
Looking great tfs sylvi 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Good to see another short wearer! My Mrs gets annoyed with me for wearing mine in winter!

Are you going to fleece your beans?
not against the cold, I sometimes fleece them to stop mice getting them.
