It really is a shame "how they massacred our boy" - like he doesn't need to be META, strong, or a top or mid character but why oh why did they basically set him up for failure He's a fantastic and refreshing character with such depth, heart, story, and so many people love him for who he is yet all for Hoyo to give no reason to ever use or play him. Just so much missed potential
He's a four star and they're pretty much all set up to suck in most situations. And yes, that includes the niche supports. They might shine in their little niche, at c6, but they are lackluster outside of it. Faruzan? Meh unless you play one of two DPS characters, three if you count Heizou. Sara? I guess she has a Raiden team that basically nobody plays. Gorou? Bad for geo and the reason why Itto is as lackluster as he is. The shielders? 12s duration means they generally don't fit nicely into rotations, so people opt for Zhongli, whose has the same 12s recast, but a much longer duration. Once Hoyoverse realized who badly Benny and Xingqui warped things, they set certain design standards in place to avoid it happening in the future. Desired five star power levels, especially for the DPS types, was set high. Four stars are intentionally crippled so that they can do one thing, at an acceptable four star level. And the only ones that end to escape from that are the ones that are either super niche or provide good (enough) elemental application.
@@Axterix13Except 4 stars can still be good without having to put an unnecessary handicap on them, like those niche 4 stars you just mentioned do perform extremely well at what they do. Characters like Gaming or Chevreuse for example do have a niche but very much feel like complete characters (hoyo cooked for these 4 stars). While it is true that many of the good 4 stars (especially faruzan) are constellation locked, they do compete with 5 stars when said constellations are unlocked, which is completely fair. Do I think 4 stars SHOULD be mid/trash at c0-5 and godly at c6? No. Do I think they should still should have their power kept behind constellations? Yes, for game balance. Imo the best solution would be to provide gradual improvements rather than c5 mid c6 broken.

It's funny because my c6 Kaveh along with Nahida, Kokomi, and Nilou were the team that got me through Floor 12 of the Abyss for the first time.They were the team that felt the most powerful. But it turns out they are being held back by Kaveh. Wild. And I know it's true because, without Kaveh, the big blooms not only destroy all the bad guys, they also wipe out my whole team. Poor Nahida just goes "I take a nap right here" and that's it. LOL!
blooms self-damage is nuts :D the team cleared mostly because nilou is good, not so much kaveh, he was pretty much an active nerf; but yaoyao is a really great non-kokomi healer if you need one! :D
Baizhu is also a great way to survive bloom damage as he not only has a dendro shield that with good investment can tank multiple bloom core damage but also has teamwide healing often and on field healing too in burst.
I got so many Kaveh copies pulling for Navia. He's my only (non-traveler) C6 character. I was hoping for Ningguang copies since I wanted to try running her with Navia.
Ngl, I just use Kaveh as my Alhaitham support. (Get Alhaitham + Mona to do bloom then pull out Kaveh and just use his skill) Idrc if he sucks. I WANT A KAVETHAM TEAM.
Kaveh's place in the game is on Alhaithm's arm as a trophy wife not on anyone's team. As for the two people complaining about how long it took for him to get a rerun, I'd take y'all seriously if you didn't have him at level 40 with two instructors artifact pieces and sacrificial greatsword on him.
I actually had him double crowned, lvl90. XD I'm at a point where I can easily 36 star most Abysses. I use Kaveh when I want a challange. XD Also hyperbloom is seriously broken.
I have him c6 triple crowned on serpent spine and 4pc FoLP.. tbf I wasn't really complaining about how long it took since I was able to get c2 on first banner and c4 during his down time, but regardless. He can still act as a viable dps if you build him right. Maybe just not on a bloom team (even though that's his entire kit)
It's a shame that his burst doesn't allow his Normal/Charged/Plunge attacks to detonate the cores, that would've at least justify the Energy cost to a certain extent. This boy doesn't work on Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and also Spread cuz the burst is abnormally expensive that it's better to use Bennett C6 to do Pyro plunges.
@@usmanya5110 Yeah but that's every 3s, I meant that *each* hit detonates seeds on his base hit. He also needed a constellation that either gives him a 2nd charge of his E or at the very least reduce the CD every time a seed detonates or something. As it stands right now, his C2 and C4 should've been part of his base Burst cuz what Juice pointed out (his DMG boost is a joke in comparison to Nilou/Baizhu's)
I found Kaveh to be better in regular bloom or fridge teams. Nuking bunch of frozen enemies with his skill has been sort of my guilty pleasure recently. Whoever wants to try playing him for fun (with decent damage output), put him with Nahida, Kokomi and Rosaria or Layla.
@@martin.0827 Could work. You just have to do normal attacks to proc rainswords. It won't be as comfortable as Kokomi version but it should work. I suggest trying it in Deepwood/Guilded domain. All 3 enemies will rush in melee range for some glorious bloom damage.

The only good thing about Kaveh is that this time aroud, he's on Nilou's banner, which means that someone going for his C6 might get a C1 or C2 Nilou, which in turn might just be enough to make him look good. Other than that... he looks cool I guess

This is not a hate comment and i know this dosent fill in for some of you but.... I dont really get characters to help me deal some crazy amount of damage or their playstyle. I get the character because they have a good character, good personality and is really one of my favourites. I have been waiting for kaveh rerun for quite a long time. And i knew from the start he isnt really a good character in terms of damage or team play. I just like him and yeah. :) But this is a nice video for people who want kaveh only for gameplay.
First time having him, but oh boy he's so bad in overworld and abyss scenarios. Most of the time, the enemies had left the bloom radius before I detonate the second one. As the main driver, you can't even swap to other characters such as Venti and Kazuha to reposition the bloom cores because his burst doesn't persist. For me he's decent to be a quickswap unit (swap-detonate-swap) although very mid damage. Nilou is miles better and easier to use compare to him.

Just a general comment, but, why do we have to say "if you don't care about the meta..." specifically Like, yeah, most characters in any game can't be meta, considering the meta is what are exclusively the best units, strategies, etc. But I'd hope in a gacha game like this, Hoyo would at least have characters be effective and usable to some extent outside of being babysat by extremely powerful 2 or 3 man cores! Like, Kaveh isn't just "not meta", his kit design is terrible!! It makes no sense!! It's not an issue of strength, it's the design! Which sucks, because I LOVED him in the story so much. I think you explained very well why his design is so... wtf.

literally. people will cry 'metaslave!' but then why does nearly every bad character have MUCH worse sales than GOOD ones? why does EVERYBODY want characters like kazuha & furina? story, yes of course, but venti/zhongli are also archons but their ownership rate is so much lower than furina because she is just so insane for almost every team in the game. people do subconsciously care about how good their favourites are whether they address it or not, otherwise dehya sucking would've been fine, no? wanting characters to simply have a BIS spot or a workable position isn't even that egregious of an ask, because if they're bad at everything, then why the heck was their kit even made...?

@@Juice-chan There's a difference though between "This character is lackluster. Here is why" and "This character is not the best, therefore they are COMPLETE UTTER TRASH!" Often, your videos lean toward the latter. That's part of your channel's identity, makes it stand out from others, but it is only natural that that sort of take will cause people to lash back. Especially when the COMPLETE UTTER TRASH aspect is often factually wrong. Also, a lot of the overly niche characters really should be slammed for how worthless they are outside of their tiny little niche. The ownership thing is something we don't know. The only time you see it get tossed around is for Abyss team usage, and that's pulled from a website where people have to input their info. Meaning the info comes from people more invested in the game, as they bother to use a website outside of the game to input info, and we don't know how accurately they input said info (niche four star support ownership rates in particular are probably off). The banner sale stuff was slightly more useful when we had it, but also definitely questionable. That said, yup, power matters. For a variety of reasons. One is that, while everyone has waifus/husbandos, those characters need supports, and you're looking for quality there, to make the waifu/husbando shine. Another is that, if you are an Abyss clearer and you want to use that waifu/husbando, you might need more power on the other side to compensate. Then there's the matter of just how many waifus/husbandos you have. Once you are sated in that regard, that aspect diminishes for your other pulls. And then there are just things like having to struggle with A, or A not pairing well with your newest shiny toy, leads to you drifting away from playing them. A character being strong out the box means you can enjoy them more easily right away, while a character that requires more overall investment can therefore be more off-putting, and that matters for newer players (who won't have the team building options already) and non-spenders (who can't easily vertically invest in weapons and constellations to ramp up the power of a weak at c0 character). And, lastly, that liking a character isn't based on a single thing, but instead a mix of things, so a character being weak in one aspect of that naturally hurts their overall enjoyment factor. Like how there are people who find Neuv boring to play, and so don't use him despite his power.
Kaveh is a Driver. He is not supposed to be strong. Your off-field team is the one doing the DMG. His job is to sustain heavy DMG, and he is very good for that (Sustainer).
That's the problem, even as a driver he isn't that good. Slow dendro app because of claymore hitlag, burst can't persist so can't swap to re-apply buffs/skills or reposition cores using anemo unit, and Nahida/Baizhu/Yaoyao exist. "He is not supposed to be strong. His sustain heavy dmg is good." Bro you're contradicting yourself lmao. His damage is mid at best at c0, hyperbloom is 5x much better in sustained damage department. Stop the glaze bruh.

@@whatisbow2865 You guys didn't even read what i said. He is a SUSTAINER. You can use him in teams without healers/shielders. (Nilou, Kaveh, Nahida, Yelan). This team will deal way more dmg than a normal team with a healer (except Baizhu).
Strongly disagree with the take on Layla. Fantastic unit second biggest shield with buffs and a good amount of application. As for the other 4 stars of Sumeru. Agreed all bad outside of Faru and Yao Yao.
There's a lot I want to rant about Kaveh as playable character to sell with his combat kit, but this spark a more interesting question: Would Mihoyo dare to revamp Kaveh's kit similar to how Honkai Impact releases SP version of the characters that synching with the existing kit leveling? As even Honkai Star Rail is going to do that with March 7th (alongside released 5 star versions akin to Dan Heng), on top of Trailblazer already have multiple paths to switch? Genshin needs alternate version of characters that just crafted horribly but able to gain retrofit upgrade that makes these characters potentially functional if not even good Also Silverwolf & Bronya being different characters of the same Mihoyo's most popular personality archetypes/iterations, Kaveh's really frustrating kits deserves the aforementioned revamp/retrofit with those really underwhelming blooms that would even taking more time to finishing HIlichurl-type enemies
Hi! Kaveh main here! He's the first character I pulled and as I read his story and discovered his persona, I grew attached to him! I tried to make him shine like the star he is and stubbornly put most of my ressources on him, stubbornly always took him on exploration and to fight the big bosses. Despite all my best efforts, his playstyle is FAR from intuitive and rewarding at low level investment. Imagine my AR 16 self, struggling, wondering how tf use my princess Kaveh. I had no weapon nir artifacts that could provided sufficient ER, so I NEVER USED his burst. It's really awkward to have a character rely so much on his burst, but then give him some heavy ER problems. I only learned at AR 35 how to use him properly and believe me it was freeing, mindblowing, eye-opening, astonishing, etc...
The only reason im building him is because of receiving lots of bloom damage in bloom teams. Yes kaveh's damage is 100% underwhelming but on nilou teams, you're not really doing straight up damage with any character except nilou anyways since the entire team is carried by bountiful cores. Not raw damage. The reason to pull for kaveh. Self sustainability. Look im pretty sure most people don't wanna spend 200$+ just to pull kokomi or baizhu (healers shouldn't cost over 100$) so kaveh is a good option since he heals after taking damage from dendro cores (bountiful cores are also counted too). That's the main reason for using him. Most of the damage done on kaveh bloom teams are carried by bountiful cores so kaveh's true role of healing himself makes it where you won't die. Yaoyao has mediocre healing even if you build her solely to give her as much HP as possible. And building kirara is not worth anyone's time. I bet most people don't even have her built so i can already assume her shields are worse than yaoyao's mediocre healing just by the fact that no one uses her. And she can't use the kaveh excuse of being gone from the game for an entire year.
Those "healers" are a sizeable increase to those teams aswell as being viable if not good in lots of other teams to the point where its absolutely more worth investing in them than kaveh, also 5 star characters don't just straight up cost money you can actually save primos for them and kirara and yao yao both are already known to be good for all dendro teams wiith yao yao literally being refered to as a good character in this video and even able to sustain even nilou bloom so it must be a personal lack of investment as to why you feel that way about them.

Kaveh doesn't even cost money as long as you can pull him in a ten pull, which is obviously a lot easier than pulling a 5 star. Unless you're just unlucky. Do you think im ever gonna save up over 8k+ primos just to get qiqi on a baizhu banner? Absolutely not. At this point, I've used up most of the f2p primos when i was saving up for arlecchino. So atm i don't have many ways of obtaining f2p primos except from events and dailies, at least until natlan releases. So in my circumstances, 5 stars do cost money. 100$ or more just to do a 50/50 and if i lose it, then that's another hundred down the drain. I've been playing since version 1.1 so i don't many ways of getting f2p primos anymore. My yaoyao has over 40k hp and yet she can't even heal more than 2k health per radish. That's awful. Im running 3 artifacts with HP% as the main stat and im using the dialogues of the desert sages (aka her best weapon), and she still has mediocre healing. Do you know how much damage bountiful cores do to your characters? Kirara doesn't even seem good knowing that literally no one uses her, and she's overshadowed by yaoyao, who is a mediocre healer who can't heal more than 2k health per radish. Or is yaoyao only good at c6? Cause most of the banners she's on are all awful banners or feature a 5 star unit that i already have.
@thechocowizard You used f2p primos? I used f2p primos on arlecchino. Now i can't get many f2p primos now except from dailies and events. I wouldn't waste f2p primos on a 5 healer. Good for bloom but not soo much for anything else cause kuki>baizhu and kokomi.
I beg to differ. I use him in my duo-character abyss comp and I keep clearing with him in the team. You should check your calcs. My comp is: C6R2 Neuvillette, C1R0 Kaveh. edit: The strategy is basically just use Neuvillette while Kaveh gives moral support.

I build him with Xianyun Plunge which makes him decent, Xianyun makes any Claymore user somewhat Viable due to how the weapon type's NA multipliers work with plunging.

8:18 the Hyperbloom issue can be managed by not C6 ing him. Run him with a Fav Greatsword to mitigate his Er Issue and get some CR in substats. Kaveh is bad, but I’ve found that him C4 with Fav Greatsword, a decent Collei at 70 with a Sac Bow, a well built Xingqiu at 90 with a Sac Sword, and a DPS built Nilou with her Weapon can clear most content. Bear in mind Kaveh is at 70 so he isn’t exactly maxxing on his kit. Swap Collei for a C4 Kirara if you can. The shield helps to avoid Nilous Blooms killing your Teammates. C4 gives more Dendro. If you don’t have Nilous weapon then compensate by going all in on her HP stats. I built mine as a DPS so her HP investment on artifacts is pretty low.
hi, the kaveh utility is as a main fielder in nilous team (kokomi is a 5star) • and baizhu does not boost 200% he boosts 100% at 50k hp nilou bloom teams are comolex when you want to max the dmg of the blooms cause of who in the team is making them, kokomi and kaveh solve this problem, kokomi being the one creating the blooms with 2 dendro units with hard dendro application like nahida and collei, being kokomi the one with the max em and flower of paradise, kaveh being a 4 star help us know who is doing the dendro blooms in the team too, kaveh with a hard application dendro character like nahida let us know that the hydro character like xingchiu is the one doing the blooms, kaveh with a soft dendro application like kirara we know that the one doing the blooms is kaveh or in a 3 hydro team kaveh will be the one doing the blooms. kavehs ult makes all team party members blooms, this do not limit us on which character have to do the blooms to get the buff cause all of them will, so for example in a team like kaveh nilou xingchiu baizhu, deoending of how much dendro baizhu and kaveh apply xingchiu would proc the cores going with flower of paradise and em, and if xingchiu hydro application is stronger kaveh will be the one with flower of paradise, even like that both kind of teams will get the (13lvl) 58.4% dmg increase and an onfield character that have a way of sustain. and you can get a good 4 starts team for nilou with character like kaveh nilou xingchiu and kirara knowing that kaveh will be the one doing the blooms, that solves the problem of nilou quick swap teams have.
I wish they did some retouches to old or non functional characters. Specially characters like Kaveh that are so loved in the community, any minor improvement would be celebrated. An easy fix would be to make all the exploded blooms by kaveh's ability damaging, removing the usual restriction
"Ermmmm these 5 star meta units that you probably don't even have are better than Kaveh🤓👆" Is what this video boils down to. Almost as if people can pull characters because they like them and not because they're required to one shot every boss in the game.

Kaveh would be amazing if his healing applied to entire party while off field , it would be a excellent healer for nilou bloom and burgeon teams , maybe even fridge

Lala is a sleeper her shield is stronger than Zongli and she has great cryo application all off-field she's constantly in my teams because she has way more Cinergy than a geo shilder and not a bow user like Duiona also she has stager defence so is grate with nuvelett
his progression from c0 to c6 goes from dead slot to you don't have another option. his c4 doubles a lvl 13 (crowned!) burst effect, that's how bad it is. with c6 and charged attack you can keep up with a 4* teams dendro cores. i think the most depressing part however is that he should be played as a onfield unit that doesn't have a healer in the team however dendro and hydro has such good healer options, that you can't make use of that talent. however i wouldn't fix anything about that but just increase his dendro infusion to have similar area coverage to noelle. then indroduce hydro 4* that prog with charged attack or make double infusion with candace a thing. nilou kaveh would be born out of this, it wouldn't be as good as nahida but still... also fix his c6 bugs
he's literally one of the best bloom drivers on field for this specific abyss, due to the pyro lords having pyro shields. team comp: nilou, kaveh, yelan, nahida. bro's immortal, you don't need a healer.
It baffles me when people pull for Kaveh and then get upset at the 5* character. To me he isn't worth it, and I am not even talking about the damage. I tried to build him but I couldn't get anything fun out his gameplay. For a 4* all I want is a fun kit and he just doesn't bring that to the table. Then again the only people that pull for him is for ship reasonings I am sure of
i’d say most people want him due to yes shipping or the fact that his story is pretty good. although i hate that he rejected so much money because he’s ‘such a good guy’ (come on bro, you literally want to move out…) like his event appearances are always pleasant; he cooks & cleans for alhaitham too so not a total freeloader & has a nice design & 3d model. probably the only tall guy that i would call ‘cute’ but everything in terms of meta…? nonsense. his kit idea was solid but the execution sucked, an al support would’ve been a much easier route to take that might’ve been better
That's interesting, because after trying him out when I happened to get him I ended up really liking his kit. Regarding his architect theme, his attack animations are fun, his skill and his burst are super cool as well, but I guess that's all subjective anyway. And I'm speaking as someone who hates all Genshin ships regardless. It's disappointing that someone with a kit as interesting as his is at the very bottom of the meta but it's whatever, all of my favourite characters seem to have that thing in common anyway
Good takes but the team can become better with Furina considering Kaveh can heal himself, it feels goated sometimes but that's because of Yelan and Furina, Kaveh barely does anything to the team.
He maybe have a lot of problems, but I like the character. I don’t really care about Meta too much so since I literally all soul and my bottom of my heart hate the spiral abyss. I just hate it. It’s not a fun game mode plus as playing with him in the overworld or whatever you call it it’s not that big of a deal for me. Maybe one day I can C6 him but not for now since I’m saving up for other characters and plus that man made me broke…so I guess that’s me and Kaveh have in common😅 Edit: This might be a controversial opinion but in my opinion he’s better off being a support I just never saw him as a DPS him being a support or healer just sounds like a better job for him.
had c6 kaveh since his first banner and his team - Kaveh, Xingqiu(c6), Baizhu(c4) and Kokomi was my favorite for clearing wanderer boss. Maybe it's the five stars pulling most of the weight idk
I get really triggered how everyone tries to sell Kaveh as a BAD unit. Sure he is not perfect nor the best choice in pratically any team comp (as expected by being a 4 star on-fielder). But the Architect is a pretty solid average mid, specially since he is DENDRO, a very strong element that can make any max level unit at least useable, even with a slow Claymore attack speed and purple rarity personal numbers. The only thing i agree being callout here is that absurd 80 elemental energy cost burst. Cuz if were 60, for example, would make the "4 star easy to use/build" more prominent in his kit as keeping it active all the time is very necessary for his gameplay to function. Also, if his ultimate ability boosted all type of explosions (hyperbloom and burgeon too) would serve him better (possibly a 5star material depending the bonus ammount) as he's self healing passive ability turns him into a driver like no other, pretty unique. PS: Sure Kaveh can pop some blooms here and there, but usually you got so many on the floor to spare anyways, that your kuki/thoma are already maxed out the possible damage so don't bother
his biggest issue is that other dendro 4 stars just work better than him in his own best team (Yao yao and Kirara) but he is serviceable, just not nearly the best or 2nd place option.
5 kiraras, 2 kaveh and 1 ning in 110 pulls I didn't need any 4 stars from this but this is the result I just wanted nilou and after guarantee I got her and early key
It's because people that do want character X will naturally be invested and chime up about X. But everyone else doesn't care, so doesn't say jack. And so the comment section can make it appear like there's a demand when there isn't. Really, if a character was in demand, Hoyoverse would re-run them in a reasonable enough time frame, because money.
kaveh is pretty eh ngl. compared to most dendro units he feels sort of bad, like It's even worse than collei(who's actually pretty solid). like pre c6 he is just a budget Al that feels clunky, at c6 he feels like budget nilou. His ER needs are high, his Skill Cooldown is too long. it would have been acceptable if his cooldown is lower and the bloom detonation damage should have been based on his em instead so you can focus on offensive builds for XQ, Furina or Yelan.
kaveh is actually good if you play him outside of bloom and play him in hyperbloom or burgeon because hes a decent dendro applier for f2p if you dont have alhaitham or any dendro catalyst, i 3 starred floor 12 once with him by playing him on hyperbloom
One of the few units who is 1 of the 3 elements for hyperbloom that manages to decrease the total dmg output of hyperbloom cores by LITERALLY being a thief. Geo units for god sake will probably do better, Albedo for 125 em or just anyone who doesnt mess with the cores's ownership.
Nailed it! I love Kaveh’s characterization very much, but I agree he’s one of the worst characters even after high investment. His skill cool down and limited dedro application really hold him back. Maybe he would have benefited from being a catalyst user for 100% dendro up time
I don't even care much about Kaveh. I just needed another Dendro unit since all I had is a traveler, a special sort of cat and an ex-victim of Eleazar.
his only purpose is to tank Nilou blooms but even then, just build Baizhu or Yaoyao or Kirara properly. Or learn how to swap and distribute damage among your characters instead of standing there tanking everything. and even if you use him at his designated role, your other non-Kaveh characters are still tanking strays from Nilou cores in their short field times, slowly reducing their healths getting you close to a one-shot.
This video is quite biased. I don't even like or main Kaveh, but you're showing a nasty point of view. Kaveh is not a budget Nilou, he is indeed designed to be a viable on fielder for Nilou. You praise Faruzan and Gorou for being amazing 4 stars, while they DO rely on their C6 to be competitive, Faruzan is literally relevant only because of her C6, and they both are locked and restricted to specific teams... Just like Kaveh is mostly suited for Nilou. Among all 4 stars, he's the one that provides QoL for that specific team, especially his C1 would allow you to drop a defensive option for a more aggressive one, since he can kind of sustain himself on field. Again, it was somehow pathetic that you were displaying gameplays of him without Nilou, when she's kind of his best teammate. Go and show us a gameplay of Faruzan outside of her core teams to see if your point is still valid.

My point stands, try to put Faruzan in a Hyperbloom team or Gorou without Itto/Noelle to see if they're as good as she try to convince us. He's obviously not an OP unit, but he does what he's designed to do decently. Not to mention, I'm also a Kaveh C6 haver, and even when I had him C2 before this banner, I tried him and it wasn't as horrible as the liar in the video depicts.
Then you clearly didn't udnerstand the video. "He's not supposed to be a budget Nilou" when his kit is based on buffing Bloom exactly like Nilou, just infinitely worse. "His best tteammateis Nilou" he actively makes her team WORSE, she is his best teammate because she makes the team work entirely by herself despite Kaveh actively ruining it by wasting Bloom cores.

I'd agree with you 100%, but there's a thing you're forgetting: Nilou and Kaveh don't share element, so they don't overlap and they can be played (and players are encouraged to do so) in the same team. Nilou's and Kaveh's buffs *DO NOT OVERWRITE* each other, unlike hyperbloom where the electro unit bears the whole responsibility of the final damage, in pure bloom teams their buffs stack. So yeah, good luck finding a dendro unit who can tank and self heal to negate the damage of dendro cores, who gives interruption resistance to avoid losing uptime when detonating cores, and who brings to the table their own buffs to bloom cores that are added on top of that of Nilou's. Yeah, Baizhu, but go and use him on field and tell me it's not copium lmao.

You mentioned Baizhu and proceeded to explain everything that makes him better and then said that's copium? And you don't even need Baizhu, Yaoyao also heals and provides good dendro application both on field and off field, more importantly, her creation and the natural detonation of bloom cores with Nilou allows for more damage as more cores will actually do damage for being detonated outside the reaction ICD. Combined with her healing being more constant than Baizhu's for example and you have a good unit there. If you need more area of dendro application, then dendro Mc is there, and they will naturally get a bigger area of aplication with their burst combined with hydro, buff EM on top of it which will give a boost to the bloom cores, and even frees some need of EM that way to focus on ER on them or more HP for Nilou. Again, the thing is, even in the place he is supposed to be BiS, Kaveh is still not good compared to everyone else, his buffs are too low, his dendro application is slow, his detonation mechanic works against the reaction he is supposed to buff, he is just not good. He works, because Genshin doesn't have much challenge to begin with, but when everyone else does the same thing, but better, why bother?
People who are so “anti meta” are such try hards. They’re the type to run the random Imaginarium Theatre teams with 3 on field dpses that have anti synergy just to take 20 minutes to do their daily commissions and be proud of it. Just accept that Kaveh is absolutely fried.

It really is a shame "how they massacred our boy" - like he doesn't need to be META, strong, or a top or mid character but why oh why did they basically set him up for failure
He's a fantastic and refreshing character with such depth, heart, story, and so many people love him for who he is yet all for Hoyo to give no reason to ever use or play him. Just so much missed potential
He's a four star and they're pretty much all set up to suck in most situations. And yes, that includes the niche supports. They might shine in their little niche, at c6, but they are lackluster outside of it. Faruzan? Meh unless you play one of two DPS characters, three if you count Heizou. Sara? I guess she has a Raiden team that basically nobody plays. Gorou? Bad for geo and the reason why Itto is as lackluster as he is. The shielders? 12s duration means they generally don't fit nicely into rotations, so people opt for Zhongli, whose has the same 12s recast, but a much longer duration.
Once Hoyoverse realized who badly Benny and Xingqui warped things, they set certain design standards in place to avoid it happening in the future. Desired five star power levels, especially for the DPS types, was set high. Four stars are intentionally crippled so that they can do one thing, at an acceptable four star level. And the only ones that end to escape from that are the ones that are either super niche or provide good (enough) elemental application.
And then comes neuvillette who is the best variant of bloom destroying abyss 14 in the future
@@Axterix13Except 4 stars can still be good without having to put an unnecessary handicap on them, like those niche 4 stars you just mentioned do perform extremely well at what they do. Characters like Gaming or Chevreuse for example do have a niche but very much feel like complete characters (hoyo cooked for these 4 stars).
While it is true that many of the good 4 stars (especially faruzan) are constellation locked, they do compete with 5 stars when said constellations are unlocked, which is completely fair.
Do I think 4 stars SHOULD be mid/trash at c0-5 and godly at c6? No. Do I think they should still should have their power kept behind constellations? Yes, for game balance. Imo the best solution would be to provide gradual improvements rather than c5 mid c6 broken.

It's funny because my c6 Kaveh along with Nahida, Kokomi, and Nilou were the team that got me through Floor 12 of the Abyss for the first time.They were the team that felt the most powerful. But it turns out they are being held back by Kaveh. Wild.
And I know it's true because, without Kaveh, the big blooms not only destroy all the bad guys, they also wipe out my whole team. Poor Nahida just goes "I take a nap right here" and that's it. LOL!
blooms self-damage is nuts :D the team cleared mostly because nilou is good, not so much kaveh, he was pretty much an active nerf; but yaoyao is a really great non-kokomi healer if you need one! :D
Baizhu is also a great way to survive bloom damage as he not only has a dendro shield that with good investment can tank multiple bloom core damage but also has teamwide healing often and on field healing too in burst.

I have him c6 triple crowned on serpent spine and 4pc FoLP.. tbf I wasn't really complaining about how long it took since I was able to get c2 on first banner and c4 during his down time, but regardless. He can still act as a viable dps if you build him right. Maybe just not on a bloom team (even though that's his entire kit)
It's a shame that his burst doesn't allow his Normal/Charged/Plunge attacks to detonate the cores, that would've at least justify the Energy cost to a certain extent.
This boy doesn't work on Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and also Spread cuz the burst is abnormally expensive that it's better to use Bennett C6 to do Pyro plunges.

@@usmanya5110 Yeah but that's every 3s, I meant that *each* hit detonates seeds on his base hit. He also needed a constellation that either gives him a 2nd charge of his E or at the very least reduce the CD every time a seed detonates or something.
As it stands right now, his C2 and C4 should've been part of his base Burst cuz what Juice pointed out (his DMG boost is a joke in comparison to Nilou/Baizhu's)
I found Kaveh to be better in regular bloom or fridge teams. Nuking bunch of frozen enemies with his skill has been sort of my guilty pleasure recently.
Whoever wants to try playing him for fun (with decent damage output), put him with Nahida, Kokomi and Rosaria or Layla.

@@martin.0827 Could work. You just have to do normal attacks to proc rainswords. It won't be as comfortable as Kokomi version but it should work. I suggest trying it in Deepwood/Guilded domain. All 3 enemies will rush in melee range for some glorious bloom damage.

The only good thing about Kaveh is that this time aroud, he's on Nilou's banner, which means that someone going for his C6 might get a C1 or C2 Nilou, which in turn might just be enough to make him look good. Other than that... he looks cool I guess

This is not a hate comment and i know this dosent fill in for some of you but....
I dont really get characters to help me deal some crazy amount of damage or their playstyle.
I get the character because they have a good character, good personality and is really one of my favourites. I have been waiting for kaveh rerun for quite a long time. And i knew from the start he isnt really a good character in terms of damage or team play. I just like him and yeah. :)
But this is a nice video for people who want kaveh only for gameplay.
First time having him, but oh boy he's so bad in overworld and abyss scenarios. Most of the time, the enemies had left the bloom radius before I detonate the second one. As the main driver, you can't even swap to other characters such as Venti and Kazuha to reposition the bloom cores because his burst doesn't persist. For me he's decent to be a quickswap unit (swap-detonate-swap) although very mid damage. Nilou is miles better and easier to use compare to him.
i thought it wasn't even physically possible to build a character so badly that he doesn't manage overworld enemies, but here we are. what did you give him, one 3* artifact?

Like, yeah, most characters in any game can't be meta, considering the meta is what are exclusively the best units, strategies, etc.
But I'd hope in a gacha game like this, Hoyo would at least have characters be effective and usable to some extent outside of being babysat by extremely powerful 2 or 3 man cores! Like, Kaveh isn't just "not meta", his kit design is terrible!! It makes no sense!! It's not an issue of strength, it's the design! Which sucks, because I LOVED him in the story so much.

@@Juice-chan There's a difference though between "This character is lackluster. Here is why" and "This character is not the best, therefore they are COMPLETE UTTER TRASH!" Often, your videos lean toward the latter. That's part of your channel's identity, makes it stand out from others, but it is only natural that that sort of take will cause people to lash back. Especially when the COMPLETE UTTER TRASH aspect is often factually wrong. Also, a lot of the overly niche characters really should be slammed for how worthless they are outside of their tiny little niche.
The ownership thing is something we don't know. The only time you see it get tossed around is for Abyss team usage, and that's pulled from a website where people have to input their info. Meaning the info comes from people more invested in the game, as they bother to use a website outside of the game to input info, and we don't know how accurately they input said info (niche four star support ownership rates in particular are probably off). The banner sale stuff was slightly more useful when we had it, but also definitely questionable.
That said, yup, power matters. For a variety of reasons. One is that, while everyone has waifus/husbandos, those characters need supports, and you're looking for quality there, to make the waifu/husbando shine. Another is that, if you are an Abyss clearer and you want to use that waifu/husbando, you might need more power on the other side to compensate. Then there's the matter of just how many waifus/husbandos you have. Once you are sated in that regard, that aspect diminishes for your other pulls. And then there are just things like having to struggle with A, or A not pairing well with your newest shiny toy, leads to you drifting away from playing them. A character being strong out the box means you can enjoy them more easily right away, while a character that requires more overall investment can therefore be more off-putting, and that matters for newer players (who won't have the team building options already) and non-spenders (who can't easily vertically invest in weapons and constellations to ramp up the power of a weak at c0 character). And, lastly, that liking a character isn't based on a single thing, but instead a mix of things, so a character being weak in one aspect of that naturally hurts their overall enjoyment factor. Like how there are people who find Neuv boring to play, and so don't use him despite his power.

Your off-field team is the one doing the DMG. His job is to sustain heavy DMG, and he is very good for that (Sustainer).
That's the problem, even as a driver he isn't that good. Slow dendro app because of claymore hitlag, burst can't persist so can't swap to re-apply buffs/skills or reposition cores using anemo unit, and Nahida/Baizhu/Yaoyao exist.

His attacks felt slow and clunky, and i find that his dendro app doesn't feel good. his personal damage sucks if i wanna play him on hyperbloom or quickbloom. i remember benching him after i got yaoyao since i prefer quickswapping or a pretty strong on field carry. and you can't swap out of kaveh and his dmg is bad so... nope

Would Mihoyo dare to revamp Kaveh's kit similar to how Honkai Impact releases SP version of the characters that synching with the existing kit leveling?
As even Honkai Star Rail is going to do that with March 7th (alongside released 5 star versions akin to Dan Heng), on top of Trailblazer already have multiple paths to switch? Genshin needs alternate version of characters that just crafted horribly but able to gain retrofit upgrade that makes these characters potentially functional if not even good
Also Silverwolf & Bronya being different characters of the same Mihoyo's most popular personality archetypes/iterations, Kaveh's really frustrating kits deserves the aforementioned revamp/retrofit with those really underwhelming blooms that would even taking more time to finishing HIlichurl-type enemies
Hi! Kaveh main here! He's the first character I pulled and as I read his story and discovered his persona, I grew attached to him! I tried to make him shine like the star he is and stubbornly put most of my ressources on him, stubbornly always took him on exploration and to fight the big bosses. Despite all my best efforts, his playstyle is FAR from intuitive and rewarding at low level investment.
Imagine my AR 16 self, struggling, wondering how tf use my princess Kaveh. I had no weapon nir artifacts that could provided sufficient ER, so I NEVER USED his burst. It's really awkward to have a character rely so much on his burst, but then give him some heavy ER problems.
I only learned at AR 35 how to use him properly and believe me it was freeing, mindblowing, eye-opening, astonishing, etc...
The only reason im building him is because of receiving lots of bloom damage in bloom teams. Yes kaveh's damage is 100% underwhelming but on nilou teams, you're not really doing straight up damage with any character except nilou anyways since the entire team is carried by bountiful cores. Not raw damage.
The reason to pull for kaveh. Self sustainability. Look im pretty sure most people don't wanna spend 200$+ just to pull kokomi or baizhu (healers shouldn't cost over 100$) so kaveh is a good option since he heals after taking damage from dendro cores (bountiful cores are also counted too). That's the main reason for using him. Most of the damage done on kaveh bloom teams are carried by bountiful cores so kaveh's true role of healing himself makes it where you won't die.
Yaoyao has mediocre healing even if you build her solely to give her as much HP as possible. And building kirara is not worth anyone's time. I bet most people don't even have her built so i can already assume her shields are worse than yaoyao's mediocre healing just by the fact that no one uses her. And she can't use the kaveh excuse of being gone from the game for an entire year.
Those "healers" are a sizeable increase to those teams aswell as being viable if not good in lots of other teams to the point where its absolutely more worth investing in them than kaveh, also 5 star characters don't just straight up cost money you can actually save primos for them and kirara and yao yao both are already known to be good for all dendro teams wiith yao yao literally being refered to as a good character in this video and even able to sustain even nilou bloom so it must be a personal lack of investment as to why you feel that way about them.

Do you think im ever gonna save up over 8k+ primos just to get qiqi on a baizhu banner? Absolutely not. At this point, I've used up most of the f2p primos when i was saving up for arlecchino. So atm i don't have many ways of obtaining f2p primos except from events and dailies, at least until natlan releases.
So in my circumstances, 5 stars do cost money. 100$ or more just to do a 50/50 and if i lose it, then that's another hundred down the drain. I've been playing since version 1.1 so i don't many ways of getting f2p primos anymore.
My yaoyao has over 40k hp and yet she can't even heal more than 2k health per radish. That's awful. Im running 3 artifacts with HP% as the main stat and im using the dialogues of the desert sages (aka her best weapon), and she still has mediocre healing. Do you know how much damage bountiful cores do to your characters? Kirara doesn't even seem good knowing that literally no one uses her, and she's overshadowed by yaoyao, who is a mediocre healer who can't heal more than 2k health per radish. Or is yaoyao only good at c6? Cause most of the banners she's on are all awful banners or feature a 5 star unit that i already have.

I wouldn't waste f2p primos on a 5 healer. Good for bloom but not soo much for anything else cause kuki>baizhu and kokomi.

I build him with Xianyun Plunge which makes him decent, Xianyun makes any Claymore user somewhat Viable due to how the weapon type's NA multipliers work with plunging.

8:18 the Hyperbloom issue can be managed by not C6 ing him. Run him with a Fav Greatsword to mitigate his Er Issue and get some CR in substats.
Kaveh is bad, but I’ve found that him C4 with Fav Greatsword, a decent Collei at 70 with a Sac Bow, a well built Xingqiu at 90 with a Sac Sword, and a DPS built Nilou with her Weapon can clear most content. Bear in mind Kaveh is at 70 so he isn’t exactly maxxing on his kit.
Swap Collei for a C4 Kirara if you can. The shield helps to avoid Nilous Blooms killing your Teammates. C4 gives more Dendro.
If you don’t have Nilous weapon then compensate by going all in on her HP stats. I built mine as a DPS so her HP investment on artifacts is pretty low.

nilou bloom teams are comolex when you want to max the dmg of the blooms cause of who in the team is making them, kokomi and kaveh solve this problem, kokomi being the one creating the blooms with 2 dendro units with hard dendro application like nahida and collei, being kokomi the one with the max em and flower of paradise, kaveh being a 4 star help us know who is doing the dendro blooms in the team too, kaveh with a hard application dendro character like nahida let us know that the hydro character like xingchiu is the one doing the blooms, kaveh with a soft dendro application like kirara we know that the one doing the blooms is kaveh or in a 3 hydro team kaveh will be the one doing the blooms.
kavehs ult makes all team party members blooms, this do not limit us on which character have to do the blooms to get the buff cause all of them will, so for example in a team like kaveh nilou xingchiu baizhu, deoending of how much dendro baizhu and kaveh apply xingchiu would proc the cores going with flower of paradise and em, and if xingchiu hydro application is stronger kaveh will be the one with flower of paradise, even like that both kind of teams will get the (13lvl) 58.4% dmg increase and an onfield character that have a way of sustain.
and you can get a good 4 starts team for nilou with character like kaveh nilou xingchiu and kirara knowing that kaveh will be the one doing the blooms, that solves the problem of nilou quick swap teams have.

I wish they did some retouches to old or non functional characters. Specially characters like Kaveh that are so loved in the community, any minor improvement would be celebrated. An easy fix would be to make all the exploded blooms by kaveh's ability damaging, removing the usual restriction

Lala is a sleeper her shield is stronger than Zongli and she has great cryo application all off-field she's constantly in my teams because she has way more Cinergy than a geo shilder and not a bow user like Duiona also she has stager defence so is grate with nuvelett

his progression from c0 to c6 goes from dead slot to you don't have another option. his c4 doubles a lvl 13 (crowned!) burst effect, that's how bad it is. with c6 and charged attack you can keep up with a 4* teams dendro cores. i think the most depressing part however is that he should be played as a onfield unit that doesn't have a healer in the team however dendro and hydro has such good healer options, that you can't make use of that talent.
however i wouldn't fix anything about that but just increase his dendro infusion to have similar area coverage to noelle. then indroduce hydro 4* that prog with charged attack or make double infusion with candace a thing. nilou kaveh would be born out of this, it wouldn't be as good as nahida but still... also fix his c6 bugs
he's literally one of the best bloom drivers on field for this specific abyss, due to the pyro lords having pyro shields. team comp: nilou, kaveh, yelan, nahida. bro's immortal, you don't need a healer.

To me he isn't worth it, and I am not even talking about the damage. I tried to build him but I couldn't get anything fun out his gameplay.

That's interesting, because after trying him out when I happened to get him I ended up really liking his kit. Regarding his architect theme, his attack animations are fun, his skill and his burst are super cool as well, but I guess that's all subjective anyway. And I'm speaking as someone who hates all Genshin ships regardless. It's disappointing that someone with a kit as interesting as his is at the very bottom of the meta but it's whatever, all of my favourite characters seem to have that thing in common anyway

Good takes but the team can become better with Furina considering Kaveh can heal himself, it feels goated sometimes but that's because of Yelan and Furina, Kaveh barely does anything to the team.

He maybe have a lot of problems, but I like the character. I don’t really care about Meta too much so since I literally all soul and my bottom of my heart hate the spiral abyss. I just hate it. It’s not a fun game mode plus as playing with him in the overworld or whatever you call it it’s not that big of a deal for me. Maybe one day I can C6 him but not for now since I’m saving up for other characters and plus that man made me broke…so I guess that’s me and Kaveh have in common😅
Edit: This might be a controversial opinion but in my opinion he’s better off being a support I just never saw him as a DPS him being a support or healer just sounds like a better job for him.

had c6 kaveh since his first banner and his team - Kaveh, Xingqiu(c6), Baizhu(c4) and Kokomi was my favorite for clearing wanderer boss. Maybe it's the five stars pulling most of the weight idk
I get really triggered how everyone tries to sell Kaveh as a BAD unit. Sure he is not perfect nor the best choice in pratically any team comp (as expected by being a 4 star on-fielder). But the Architect is a pretty solid average mid, specially since he is DENDRO, a very strong element that can make any max level unit at least useable, even with a slow Claymore attack speed and purple rarity personal numbers.
The only thing i agree being callout here is that absurd 80 elemental energy cost burst. Cuz if were 60, for example, would make the "4 star easy to use/build" more prominent in his kit as keeping it active all the time is very necessary for his gameplay to function. Also, if his ultimate ability boosted all type of explosions (hyperbloom and burgeon too) would serve him better (possibly a 5star material depending the bonus ammount) as he's self healing passive ability turns him into a driver like no other, pretty unique. PS: Sure Kaveh can pop some blooms here and there, but usually you got so many on the floor to spare anyways, that your kuki/thoma are already maxed out the possible damage so don't bother
his biggest issue is that other dendro 4 stars just work better than him in his own best team (Yao yao and Kirara) but he is serviceable, just not nearly the best or 2nd place option.
In 91 pulls on the Navia banner, I pulled one Kaveh. I'm content lol
5 kiraras, 2 kaveh and 1 ning in 110 pulls I didn't need any 4 stars from this but this is the result I just wanted nilou and after guarantee I got her and early key

It's because people that do want character X will naturally be invested and chime up about X. But everyone else doesn't care, so doesn't say jack. And so the comment section can make it appear like there's a demand when there isn't.

kaveh is pretty eh ngl. compared to most dendro units he feels sort of bad, like It's even worse than collei(who's actually pretty solid). like pre c6 he is just a budget Al that feels clunky, at c6 he feels like budget nilou. His ER needs are high, his Skill Cooldown is too long. it would have been acceptable if his cooldown is lower and the bloom detonation damage should have been based on his em instead so you can focus on offensive builds for XQ, Furina or Yelan.
kaveh is actually good if you play him outside of bloom and play him in hyperbloom or burgeon because hes a decent dendro applier for f2p if you dont have alhaitham or any dendro catalyst, i 3 starred floor 12 once with him by playing him on hyperbloom
One of the few units who is 1 of the 3 elements for hyperbloom that manages to decrease the total dmg output of hyperbloom cores by LITERALLY being a thief. Geo units for god sake will probably do better, Albedo for 125 em or just anyone who doesnt mess with the cores's ownership.
Nailed it! I love Kaveh’s characterization very much, but I agree he’s one of the worst characters even after high investment. His skill cool down and limited dedro application really hold him back. Maybe he would have benefited from being a catalyst user for 100% dendro up time

his only purpose is to tank Nilou blooms but even then, just build Baizhu or Yaoyao or Kirara properly. Or learn how to swap and distribute damage among your characters instead of standing there tanking everything.
and even if you use him at his designated role, your other non-Kaveh characters are still tanking strays from Nilou cores in their short field times, slowly reducing their healths getting you close to a one-shot.

This video is quite biased. I don't even like or main Kaveh, but you're showing a nasty point of view. Kaveh is not a budget Nilou, he is indeed designed to be a viable on fielder for Nilou. You praise Faruzan and Gorou for being amazing 4 stars, while they DO rely on their C6 to be competitive, Faruzan is literally relevant only because of her C6, and they both are locked and restricted to specific teams... Just like Kaveh is mostly suited for Nilou. Among all 4 stars, he's the one that provides QoL for that specific team, especially his C1 would allow you to drop a defensive option for a more aggressive one, since he can kind of sustain himself on field. Again, it was somehow pathetic that you were displaying gameplays of him without Nilou, when she's kind of his best teammate. Go and show us a gameplay of Faruzan outside of her core teams to see if your point is still valid.

I'd agree with you 100%, but there's a thing you're forgetting: Nilou and Kaveh don't share element, so they don't overlap and they can be played (and players are encouraged to do so) in the same team. Nilou's and Kaveh's buffs *DO NOT OVERWRITE* each other, unlike hyperbloom where the electro unit bears the whole responsibility of the final damage, in pure bloom teams their buffs stack. So yeah, good luck finding a dendro unit who can tank and self heal to negate the damage of dendro cores, who gives interruption resistance to avoid losing uptime when detonating cores, and who brings to the table their own buffs to bloom cores that are added on top of that of Nilou's. Yeah, Baizhu, but go and use him on field and tell me it's not copium lmao.

You mentioned Baizhu and proceeded to explain everything that makes him better and then said that's copium? And you don't even need Baizhu, Yaoyao also heals and provides good dendro application both on field and off field, more importantly, her creation and the natural detonation of bloom cores with Nilou allows for more damage as more cores will actually do damage for being detonated outside the reaction ICD. Combined with her healing being more constant than Baizhu's for example and you have a good unit there.
If you need more area of dendro application, then dendro Mc is there, and they will naturally get a bigger area of aplication with their burst combined with hydro, buff EM on top of it which will give a boost to the bloom cores, and even frees some need of EM that way to focus on ER on them or more HP for Nilou.
Again, the thing is, even in the place he is supposed to be BiS, Kaveh is still not good compared to everyone else, his buffs are too low, his dendro application is slow, his detonation mechanic works against the reaction he is supposed to buff, he is just not good.
He works, because Genshin doesn't have much challenge to begin with, but when everyone else does the same thing, but better, why bother?

@@Juice-chan the thing is though, Venti and Ganyu are still good units. A 15 energy refund (Venti) and good power and unlimited range (Ganyu) in the game are still really valuable. I still find Ganyu to be great for clearing the Whale weekly boss
