JM is so mysterious. He plays such cold characters, he's so quirky, and yet he strikes me as so very sweet. Clearly a highly intelligent, complex man who has managed to remain really humble despite his stardom. 😍
He says as a boy he was beaten up every day by his brother and his mother did nothing to stop it. He drew on that brother for certain characters he played.
Craig, in my humble opinion, is on par with Johnny Carson. When he left the Late Late Show, he left a huge gap in entertainment. John Malkovich is precious, as an actor and as a guest. The awkward pause was the best.
Yes I what Johnny Carson live and I completely agree with you. I put Johnny Carson and Craig Ferguson in their own League. At ease with everyone and everyone at ease with them. A fact I even think the stars were sometimes more comfortable on Craig Ferguson show than they were at Johnny Carson.
Love and miss Craig's show on the air. John is so cute when he laughs, it's like a full-body giggle. Love his sense of humor too: "How do we know he's not a good actor?" 😂
@@jonathanrex My thoughts exactly. I'd enjoy his company. Any accomplished screen actor who would agree to do a completely demented movie like "being John Malkovich" must be a cool guy
These two are the best in terms of chemistry, both so intelligent, charismatic and gifted with extremely delightful personalities/ who actually have interesting ideas to share. The talented Mr Malcovich is himself on and off stage it seems with a slight variance in range from comedic to villainous roles, but always endearing somehow which is his magic. I could watch these two interact all day, it would be addictive. ❤☺
His accent is intriguing. I guess it is from living in different countries? Doesn't seem weird to me. He just doesn't adjust himself for the talk-show setup. I admire him for that.
Craig's show was mostly about Craig... and that's what works best for him. The stature of some guests requires Craig to be a bit more attentive and interrupt less. Those of us who love Craig would rather see him doing his goofy quick-witted persona, but I think it shows a measure of maturity to scale it back for certain guests. I thought he was just fine with Malkovich, and Malkovich showed appreciation and good humor for Craig's humor numerous times. Actually, I'm amazed how well he does with the prima Donas like Harrison Ford, Keanu, Morgan Freeman, Anthony Hopkins, Russel Crowe, et al. The mega stars seem genuinely relieved to be on a show that treats them like normal knuckleheads instead of the huge celebrities they are. Craig had immense talent for putting these folks at ease (as much as these people can ever be at ease, anyway). Ah, Craig... we miss ya laddie! You've had your respite now, so why not return to being a late night douche? That would be great...
John Malkovich's life is like someone wrote random scenarios, places and challenges across a dartboard and then got someone who can't play darts to throw at it to choose what happens next.
John Malkovich is one of the best in my opinion. He looks like a guy you could just hang out with at a bonfire and talk forever about anything. He just seems like a very wise and nice man✌❤

Love JM giggles. It's so precious but none of these giggles compares to the giggle he had on Graham Norton Show when Asling Bea made him literally tear up with laughter.
In both the opening and the closing of the first segment, they talk about him being on the show three years ago. I guess that means that it isn't 2/2 visits?
One day around 2010-2011 i was going through my hometown, Lodz (city in Poland) to get to my college and i saw a guy, just roaming on a street that looked like John Malkovitch. Its a big city known for cinema but come on, you wouldn't really think of actually meeting anybody world famous. Later the same day my friend, when waiting for the classes to begin, ran in and shouted, "GUYS YOU WONT GONNA BELIEVE WHO DID I SEE". neither one of us were courageus (or certain) to come and ask for a picture or something. I am thinking early autumn, october or end of spring. I've read later on that he indeed was in Poland.
No, it's nothing like a mockumentary. The title is literal and that's all I can really say without giving too much away. I guarantee you haven't seen a movie like it.
Definitely not underrated, or overrated. He's one of my favorite actors though. He often doesn't play the leading role, and typically plays supporting cast, or villain.
I 1st seen John in Knockaround Guys years ago, just recently getting into his movies and interviews and I'm sorry it took so long because this man is just excellent.
By the way. There is 'winter white', just like the color John has on. You can find this color in many items of clothing made for wintertime. Wool sweaters. Wool suits. Wool skirts. Wool coats. Wool scarves. Leather coats, skirts, pants, boots, hats, gloves, All in winter white, which is a creamy white like John's suit. Anyway, winter does not really come to parts of the Southern USA. I think it's mostly some older people that needlessly worry about the propriety of wearing white in winter.
From an Austrian: Craig isn't entirely wrong here. Though we do speak a variety of German here, it is often at odds with "German" German, and we do use a lot of different vocabulary which is unknown in most parts of Germany.
