What an absolute TITAN of industry. Never really been a country, pop, or TSwift fan, but hearing about how strong she is in the face of predators is really amazing! Its rare that we see an artist genuinely stand up for the art they create, for the fans who love them. I have a feeling that she will go on to mentor and produce some incredible art/artists in the future.

I was a teen when love story came out and now I’m in my 30s and midnights is soooo relatable. Most of Taylor's powerful actions in the music industry:
    1. Fighting the dominance of male singers in country industry.
    2. Transition from Country to Pop
    3. Fought Spotify back in 2014 by pulling her catalogue of their platforms, so Spotify would pay every single musicians fairly.
    4. Sent an open letter to Apple Music so they would pay every artists in their 3 months free offer.
    5. Reshape physical sales during streaming era (one of the artists who did that)
    6. Surviving the world internet cancellation back in 2016 after Kanye-Kim edited phone call.
    7. Winning assault case and encountered with $1 only to make a statement. (This case serve as a model in US supreme court)
    8. Against media and tabloid and no interviews during her comeback in 2017
    9. Left her label after the non sense deal they offered about her music masters.
    10. Join republic record and making sure she'll own every single albums she released under them and also demanding Universal music group, a house company of republic to pay their artists fairly, no matter how big or small their sales units.
    11. Transitioning herself from digital selling artist to streaming force in 2019.
    12. Fighting her masters by blocking access to use her old music on any commercial events. (Taylor owned publishing right)
    13. Transitioning herself from Pop to Alternative and reshape public and critics opinion over her art.
    14. Becoming a streaming giant, but still one of the strong pure sales artists today.
    15. Finally having access over her art by re-release 2 out of 6 albums of hers.
    16. Back to Pop with new album and revive the vinyl industry, also topping every streaming platforms.
    17. Fighting Ticketmaster over their fraud system. (Thanks to her historical demand)

Misogyny has played and still does play a pretty big part in it. the industry doesn't like women in power and Taylor was like 17 or 18 when she really rose in her fame so they felt incredibly threatened by it and there was a lot of media hate aimed towards her: belittling and diminishing and questioning her art and her talent and her as a person. they especially don't like when the people have a large fanbase that is mostly teenage girls, although that's not just a music industry thing. a lot of people didn't take her seriously as an artist until she released Folklore and Evermore but even after that there's still a lot of people who don't take her seriously

I think that the big difference between Taylor Swift and other artists is that Taylor Swift is dominating in every aspect in the music industry. From physical sales, digital sales, streaming number, chart success, critically acclaimed, breaking records, awards, touring, intellectual property (master of music catalogue & publishing records), and the most important things is loyal fanbase. So many “die hard” Taylor Swift fans are not only stay for her music but also because of her character (keep being humble and relatable). I think She treats her fans the best among other artists because she has genuine concern to her fans. Taylor Swift main forte is her songwriting. She is not the best vocalist compared other singers out there, but she is amazing with her craft. And she is a savvy business women in the music industry. And much of the conspiracy is to breakdown the artist to control them even conservatorship, and when all else fails some of this greed is so evil that it has caused untimely demise. And posthumous release like you are certain that your golden goose is only giving one more egg so why not cut it out and save yourself any expenditure to have to give any more resources you don't have to house or feed the dead. Great video, however Taylor did not exaggerate one single thing about this situation, Scooter or his manipuation..The only reason he is still in the industry (considering everybody hates him) is because he makes everybody in his path sign NDAs not to speak bad about him. There is a reason his old buissness partners are suing him for his lies. He has been trying to get Taylor on his roster since she was 16 and she rejected him, he then spend years trying to take her down (even teamed up with his clients Kanye, Bieber etc to bully her) when he couldn´t silence her, he then bought her masters to try to force her to work with him. He is a known paracite in the industry, and when he sold her masters to shamrock, he made them sign an NDA (just like he tried to make Taylor do)stating they could not tell her about the sale or say anything about him. Another thing missing in this story, Scott Borchetta didn´t have a label when he met Taylor, he told taylor he wanted her to be his first artist on the label he wanted to create, and she is the reason that label became successful. She grew up with Scott and considered him a fatherfigure, and he knew how Scooter had bullied her for YEARS and because he was mad at her for changing labels he decided to betray her doing the one thing he knew would hurt her the most; selling her legacy to scooter-rat, and then those men tried to control what she could perform or not, trying to blackmail her. Taylor was shocked and devasted Scott could do that to her considering their close relationship and the 15 years they had spent together with that label, and all she hade done to make it a success. The greatest thing about Taylors mind is that she is a great buisnesswoman, so eventough Scooter never thought she would re-record her music and she beat him at his own game, I never doubted her for a second. She has won battles for all musicians rights with Spotify, apple music and she always has amazing ideas. And the re-records turned out to be a blessing because they sound even better and we get to re-live those eras again.

What she's done for her own career is an amazing story, but I think it's even more amazing that she set a legal precedent for artists who can prove they wrote their music to re-record their own music and own the masters on the new recordings. In the long term I think this will ultimately destroy the hold that record labels have over artists, with the only artists that can't re-record their music being the ones who had their music written for them and arranged by record labels in the first place!

The reason she chose Fearless and RED simply because of the hype. She could re-release her albums in order but it won't make the chemistry stay with general public. By releasing them out of order, she'll making everyone guess, what would she pull of every damn time.
Well she chose Fearless because that record was her breakthrough, it's a diamond record of her, and the record got the classic hits such as 'Love Story' and 'You Belong with Me', and this record was the most awarded country album of all time. Taylor making sure every yeehaw fans tune in when she released that album. She collected them back, the one who left her since she moved to pop. Fearless got nostalgic aspects that her millenial fans use to sing when they were teen. Now the Gen z aka her new fans could experience the same feeling with the re-recording.
The next is RED. It's a tough decision since original RED sometimes charting and still selling well. The re-release of RED definitely killed the original one. But Taylor's strategy is working. RED is one of her recent record, the last 3 out of 6 past albums of hers. This record is arguably her best album to date. The original was overwhelmed by so many negative headlines towards her at that time. But now the re-release gave justice to the album since it stands the most. This album also got classic hits such as 'We are never ever getting back together', 'I knew You Were Trouble', and '22', also 'All Too Well' aka fan favourite song. Again Taylor making sure the new audience experience this record and her old fans and the ex fans also tune in for the dramas and the hypes that surround the record itself. Since the original record is still consuming well by society, the replacement with the re-release help to boost the selling numbers even more.
And now she takes a break from the re-record, she definitely want to build the hype again, especially with her upcoming tour concept that got people's attention. The next re-recording would definitely perform well like RED (Taylor's Version) or even better (since midnights aka Taylor's new album made her reached the new peak of her career).

@@telena5042 I bet she keep that one for the last. Like 1989 is still so huge and big right now. The re-record would definitely kill that album growth.

I can't wait to see how much Picture to Burn tops the charts again. I want to hear the re-recording of that song so bad as well as Tim McGraw, Teardrops On My Guitar and Our Song.

For those who are wondering masters or master recordings is known as the sound recording copyright. Publishing is known as composition and falls under the copyright act.

Her success in the music industry is still making waves every day.
She managed to “Break” both Spotify (most streamed album in a single day) OCT 21 and Ticketmaster (Most tickets sold for an artist in a single day) NOV 15.
Yes, both sites crashed due to record high traffic and demand.
She has proved she has the power to make the music industry bend over backwards and change overnight with changes she fought for with Apple and Spotify.
I don’t know what plans she has next or what platforms may crash as a result but we are rooting for you Taylor, Don’t let us down!

“Exaggerate” “felt the need” she said it the way it was lol, need better words in this video that doesn’t portray Taylor swift as someone who is exaggerate or feels the need to acknowledge the toxicity in todays music industries.

Just finished the Mariah video you posted 3 days ago, really like this more broad approach to storytelling about the music industry instead of just zeroing in on hip hop( thought I like those too), it’s a nice change HY! Thanks for the content !

She is truly a master of her music. Taylor also convinced iHeart Radio to only play (Taylor's Version), and not the original version, once she released them.
