One of my favorite shows, it was underrated series. A beautiful show with great costumes, how it showed Superman in a refreshing new light, the Legion being a perfect merge of three versions (silver age, post zero hour and threeboot). I love the action, character dynamics and looks of these characters and they were the definitive Legion for me. This show deserved more seasons tbh
45:16 no; in canon FERRO LAD always wore a mask, because he was a mutant, which caused his face to be horribly disfigured, by Terran standards; his face also marked him as a human mutation; this opened him up for mistrust and maltreatment, as the general public of the 31st century held a great deal of negative bias towards mutants
Man this is one of my favorite super hero cartoons growing up and this also where one of my favorite incarnations of superman comes. It's one of those shows I wished continued with a 3rd and potentially 4 and 5 season.
@starbrand3726 they just didn't want to pay and they eventually did which was pointless. They had to redub all dialog, because he was scripted and recorded as Superboy for season 1. There is even a scene of Star Boy's audition where Superman's name is cropped. You can see the top of "BOY" on his name placard after Lightning Lad falls and crashes.
@augiepires YES! You are correct. I can't believe I missed that the first time around. I just now re-watched the scene here on UA-cam (I think it was in Portuguese) and you first see Super Man not Superman on the reddish/orange name plates. Then after Lightning Lad falls, you see Clark lean over to look, and just like you said, although cropped you can still see the top of the word Boy on Clark's name plate.
@starbrand3726 it messes with my OCD seeing their lips saying BOY and MAN comes out. I went to a pickup session once where they had to redub it. It was like the 3rd or 4th episode. Really great memory.
I could swear that I heard the narrator say "Lighting Lad" a couple of times in this. So without further ado, I present to you The Legion of Misprint Superheroes: (Feel free to add to the team!) Lighting Lad Comic Boy Sunburn Girl Jouncing Boy Maniac 5 Predicate Girl/Neo Damsel Scream Girl Faintin' Girl Limber Wolf Shrinking Violin Funboy Stirboy Feral Lad Monorail
The Emerald Empress only turned evil after she was mocked by the legion for her weight and was turned away even though she passed all their test with flying colors. the moral is dont mock others they may become your most dangerous enemy
Funny, I just bought the bluray a week ago and just finished it. This show is amazing. You can even see everyone's lips in the early episodes say SuperBOY, and they dubbed over with SuperMAN.
Thanks for doing the work to present this in depth recap. I really don't like the style they used but it's good to see that they were so faithful to the original comics while doing an update for a new audience.
This cartoon series was NOT inspired by the "The Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century" comic book as you stated at the 4:24 time mark. That series was published AFTER the cartoon had been broadcast already. It had a publication date of Wednesday, April 18th, 2007. Whereas the 1st episode of the cartoon premiered on September 23rd 2006. Mistakes like that, which could have been checked by a very quick internet search, snapped me right out of the video and lead me to not trust the rest of your assertions for the rest of the video. Do better for your work going forward on your channel.
They had an impressive showing over 2 seasons. Clearly, had the show continued, more would've been introduced. Hard to start off a show with a 30-member team.
@@jeffthekillercriticremixer5968 they did. Dawnstar, Tyroc, Invisible Kid, Night Girl, XS, Element Lad, Sun Boy, Chemical King, Polar Boy, and others had cameos, background shots, and group settings with no dialog, like they were being previewed for next season.

@@augiepires I wanted to see my favorite Primcess projectra. light lass did appear but without powers. Star boy got her power. Shadow Lass and Night Girl in the comics were very close and night girl was a member of the substitutes but didnt appear in their episode. yes their were a lot of them. the same thing happened in JLA unlimited. and the Teen titans, as they never showed Lilith / Gnark / jokers daughter and a few others.
The Legion looked great in this series
The costumes were attractive and colorful
Triplicate Girl, in particular, looked fantastic
Couldn't agree more!
forgot this show existed until I found this video you've just unlocked a childhood memory, thank you.
That is exactly what we intend to do here! Thank you for such kind words and please stay subscribed for more such content!
One of my favorite DC cartoons. So disappointed we didn't get a third season.

Bro thank you for breaking down these episodes and adding context from the comics!
I love you! Thank you for covering this show!

They couldn't call him Superboy because they didn't have the rights. So they called him Superman instead.

Oh, So this is where they basically got the idea for John Kents Superboy to join the legion of superheroes in superman the final fate issue #14? Neat

Where can I find the BluRay?
I am certain the comic book series that uses these character models wa based on this show and not vice versa
Coolest clone: Superman X 👍
I love dis show cant wait 4 u 2 cover s2 i loved superman x

Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
I wanted a spin off of justice league when supergirl went to the future. Like an actual show .
"Batman lives" huh? So this is another AI video...

There are also some weird english mistakes that I've never heard before. I have a feeling that AI was used to make this video.

They had an impressive showing over 2 seasons. Clearly, had the show continued, more would've been introduced. Hard to start off a show with a 30-member team.

God dangit superboy!
Is this an ai voice? Fir the most part it sounds alright but there are simple words that are misread. 😅
Factually incorrect hero team name. As the actual size for a legion is 600.
They originally started out with just 3 members
1:26:05 This made me wanna not watch the rest of this series. I HATE that Clark gets pissed at Brainy for the action of original Brainiac.
No Batman reference in this series?
I swear to God tara strong is BJ-ing her way to the top, she really is no better than anyone else.
Who is that
Wtf is wrong with you? It terms of VA TS is an OG no BJs required.
