I just recently hit gold (funnily enough my rank up game was the one after I watched this) but I've found that for me, Reyna is a comfort pick. I win most of my gunfights and find that I can just have so much impact when I can stay healthy. When I try to play flex and fill out the team comp, I feel like I'll usually do okay, but struggle to have the same impact. @@MuskMonkey Yeah i can understand why she's hard to get value from in non-coordinated teams. I just like her a lot because I find she's really simple and intuitive compared to other controllers. She's the only one that doesn't require lineup knowledge (technically Omen doesn't, but you need to know specific map geometry for one ways and TPs with him) and she forces you to have good map awareness and pre-round plans, so I can focus on learning fundamental gameplay stuff instead of how to use abilities properly.
Also being able to plan and set up abilities ahead of time means I very rarely have to think about utility mid-round; I just pop stuff I've already planned. If I don't have utility pre-planned then it's just my movement and weapon skill.
Also, since she has no regenerating utility (4 stars and you're out) I find I can be very aggressive with her compared to other controllers who really want to stay alive for multiple re-uses. This lets me be a second in line or even entry when needed.

I've decided to put this to the test. Starting Today! Some disclaimers they may obscure my progress tho, and I hope Woohoojin will see the comment to see if this is okay or will make this climb harder:
    1. I don't have any prior FPS game experience, I've only played valorant and my aim has always been bad when I played games before.
    2. I am Bronze 1
    3. I instalock Phoenix, not Reyna, because I do not have her unlocked and he's the only character that has a blind and self sustain (Imo)
    4. I don't play with a headset on, I use speakers
And with that, I will now start this training regime, recording every session I take and screenshotting my valorant tracker from day 1 to see how I improve. And if I can improve, I know anyone can.

Day 1: Im between Bronze 1 to Bronze 2 and decided I would start a new aim practice seeing as I wanted to change my sensitivity to be a little higher. It's actually crazy how unnatural it feels on the first day to move to the side instead of adjusting my aim which just goes to show that its something I need to improve on!
Day 2 Update: I guess I'll make this a thing and update yall when something big happens. I won my first deathmatch today by focussing on gun hygiene which was kinda crazy. Also won 2/2 comp games and ranked up to Bronze 2
Day 3: I didn't have time to play the two comp games however I still did the 30 minutes training and am starting to feel more comfortable with the new sensitivity
Day 4: Won 1/2 games of comp so didnt progress much today. This is okay though as your not going to play your best every day. I also noticed that the deathmatches are getting harder now and less people are crouching in them.
Day 5: I did some unrated games after the training today and was playing awfully as I was very tired so I decided not to do any comp games today. Tomorrow I will do 3 or 4 games to make up for this but just remember that taking a day to enjoy the game in unrated with friends is allowed. it may affect the rate at which my rank improves but games are made to enjoy.
Day 6: Didn't change ranks at all today as I had pretty average games. Today has made me realise that I need to watch some guides on Lotus as I am still learning how to play the map. Also if anyone is wondering, on the games I dont get Reyna, I play Viper or Skye so that I can start learning their util.
Day 7: Pretty good day today! I'm now back to where I was before I lost the games yesterday so hopefully tomorrow we can make some progress and over the rest of the week we can start pushing into silver
Day 8: I missed yesterday so we’re going to ignore that day. Today I lost the comp games so I’m now back down to low bronze 2. I don’t think I played super badly however I did make mistakes every now and then that cost us the round. I also played the games as a duo queue instead of on my own so I may not have been fully focussed?
Day 9: I played with a 5 stack today that ranged from iron 3 to silver 2. We just about lost the games but I top fragged so only lost 9 rr overall. In the future I think I need to just play solo queue or pay more attention when playing in a 5 stack.
If you have any questions about the training or my progress then feel free to ask in the comments and I'll answer what I can!
