Very Rusty Pocket Knife Restoration

- I love restoring knives. In this video, I showed the restoration of a pocket knife. I found an old, very rusty pocket knife in the woods and decided to restore it. I pressed out the rust and made a new blade. I hope you liked my restoration.
#restoration #rusty #knife
That was one of the most severely rusted knives I’ve seen anyone attempt to restore! What an awesome job you did!! 👍👏🙏
Thanks for watching my videos)
Super rebuild. Not over the top and flashy, functional and useful again.
I like that you go from least invasive to what is required.
I also like that you create jigs as you go to get the job done right.
This channel : Satisfaction station.
Your work : Geniusly amazing.
Thank you very much! Thanks for watching my videos
@@ReXtorer Thank you for your works. I'll be always here
Wow! Who says you can't turn a turd into something nice, they haven't seen what you can do. What a fantastic job Sir! 👍🏼👍🏼
It's such fun to watch you restore that pocket knife, you did a truly amazing job but I kept thinking keep the dust dust for making that dye and ink, as it was such a rich source of lovely rust!
From junk to jewelry looking knife! Nice job. Thanks
Sehr kreativ und handwerklich inspirierend gemacht.
This was not a restoration. It was a knife build, either way I enjoyed watching!
I guess it’s just a point of view but since the only three things that are “original” are the two metal handle parts and the locking bar I’d call this “reusing parts from an old knife handle to make a new copy or replica… and not a “restoration”.
I agree, when the two metal plates had been cleaned of rust and had that interesting patina, I would have either just rebuilt it with them as the outside or covered them with clear epoxy so you could see the texture. The walnut handles contributed nothing. IMHO.
I like to use the word refurbished. Awesome vid though. Love this kind of stuff
@@dctheman5652 I still think it’s a replica of the original knife using internal parts as a guide to produce it. Using the wheels from and old car in a brand new one certainly doesn’t make it a “refurbish” or “restoration” of the old one.
Using the word “restoration” in this context doesn’t make any sense. It simply isn’t a restoration.
@@jakeeasterwood3204 exactly. I agree. As you said it is more of a replica not a restoration.
@@ElkayLive If he had actually used the knife blade in this I might be more inclined to call it a refurbished knife because that’s what it is… It’s a “knife” and the blade is what makes it that. Not the hidden parts of the handle mechanism attached to the “knife blade”.
Even in Sci-fi… a “replicator” takes a human or animal body and uses parts of it to approximately replicate… not “restore or refurbish” it.
Rust never sleeps
Przepiękny jest ten cały stary scyzoryk odrestaurowany pozdrawiam serdecznie 👍👍👍👍👍
As much as I appreciate the skills involved. If the blade for the knife was "replaced" as opposed to restored, (very skillfully) I might add, given that this is titled a restoration video and the blade constitutes the "Knife" part. In watching this video, I just saw the blade being replaced and the original handle being used as a liner for the new blade? Moreover a replacement video as opposed to a restoration.
still restored though even if replaced its still restored
Great work. But not so much a restoration as a remake.
Beautiful restoration. I didn't see any potential in that rusty piece of junk, but you pulled it off. Bravo!
Thanks!
He could have gone to Cabela’s and bought a new knife and dopes like you would race “bravo”. What a maroon.
Another great restoration 👍 Congratulations and greetings from Belgium 😉🖐️🇧🇪. Ukraine for ever 🇺🇦
replacing the blade it self, is not a restoraion... yet i agree the blade was not repairable... well done, mate!
Your work Genuinely amazing.
Amazing Restoration 👍👍
Great project
That turned out amazing !!!!!! Great restoration !!!!!!!
Beautiful knife beautifully restored well done mister
thank you!
@@ReXtorer, hello. Is this is one of types german soldier kniwes?
Excellent restoration!! You did an amazing job restoring it and those scales look awesome!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you very much!
@@ReXtorer You're very welcome!!
Really great job
I GOT BORED AND AT 7:37 JUST SKIPPED AHEAD TO SEE HOW IT TURNED OUT. HE DID NOT “RESTORE” THAT KNIFE, HE REMADE IT !!!!!!! WHAT UNMITIGATED BLLSHT !!!!!!!
like always, your ingenious tricks surprised me bro ! thanks for the demonstration.
Grettings from New Zealand
Nice job on the knife and video 💯🔥 but to me it seems as though you just made a completely new knife! Using small fragments of the original. I guess we all have different ideas as to what restoration means. Well done though 👏 excellent job.
I agree that he has basically made a new knife. My preference would have been to leave the scales as they are at 3:30 and then build the scales up with clear epoxy. The character of the rust etching would then be visible and the overall knife would reflect its' origins.
Love knife restoration
Amazing! I am extremely excited about what you had done! ❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Nice job👍
BRAVO AMAZING
A really smart finish, well done 👍😊 🇺🇦
Great work 👍🏻👍🏻
thanks!
Beautiful man..a lot of work and a lot more expertise involved in that undertaking..well done sir 👍🏻
thanks!
Well done. 😊
Nice magic trick turned rust into a knife.
return to life !
Good job!
Very nice project ❤️🔥👌
Was need it to paint to red color to look like as Swiss knife ! :) could looks more pretty!
I think it's beautiful but I also think it would have been awesome with out the wood as I like thin metal knives
That's a lot of work and skill.
For the first time I didn't like your work, that's not a restoration, you made a new knife.
I can’t believe he did this in under 15 minutes!!
Awesome job !
VERY NICE!!!
Great job👍
cool!
Don’t quite understand the point in this one. At the end of the day you basically built a new knife with practically nothing left of the original. Granted it’s a good looking knife, but not sure if the time spent was worth it. IMO
Top Marks... l thought it was going to be totally composed of rust.
nice result but it looks too new. too bad because the aged metal was beautiful.
Bravo!👍👍👍
That's not what could be called a restoration it's 85% new
I had a knife in that condition once. Dug it up when I was digging a flower bed at my mother's house.
I $%¡t-canned it and bought a nice new pocket knife.
Easy fix.
You are sooooooooo good
Super tare 🍯🍯🍯🍯
Or, here’s an idea. Take $20 and go buy you a new one
At the beginning, I was wondering how they were going to deal with the blade itself because it looked too far gone to restore without reducing it to the point where it would be ridiculously small. I'm glad he mad a new one out of the saw blade.

You know by the time you finish a “restore” like this the metal is so thin it’s useless as a practical tool.
Did you watch the video?
Sudah saya like comant dan suscarbe
I am a butterfly in this restorasyon ?
Obnovený nůž je hezky. 👍👍 Jen by mě zajímalo jestli si tu čepel po vytvarování zahrál a zakalil, aby si udržela pevnost a ostří. Pavel 🇨🇿
Děkuji! Ocel z pily je již kalená. Proto jsem neprováděl žádné dodatečné manipulace
I always carry a pocketknife for protection whenever I go out in public.
Good ii boss 👍👍😊😊😍
This seems pointless to me. May as well make a new knife. Virtually none of the original knife is there.
I'm telling myself this: believe me it's a lot different, from using a Swiss army knife. 🔪 🗡 🍴 🍽
Nice job. But surely the knife originally had a wooden handle?
What is the point of doing all that work to restore what was a very inexpensive common knife to begin with?
I do not believe you restored the one in your intro picture.
How to make Somethin' outta Nothin'
It's very difficult case! All is ate by rust! 60%
PLEASE DONT WEARE GLOVES WHEN YOU ARE WORKING ON MASCHINES☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻. ITS TO DANGEROUS!!!!!
Only thing id think would be cooler was to not sand the outside parts and use clear resin
Totally agree. He destroyed the character of the knife.
I can smell the electrolysis from here, nice job! 😂👍
You até só fron???? I fron Brasil são Paulo capital
Where do you get these items ??? 🧐
This is not a restoration. But I appreciate the time you spent and the work you did. I like the final result. But its not a restoration. Cheers
New blade, new pins, new scales - hardly qualifies as a "restoration".
no way I would call that a restoration
😁👍👍👍
How many hours did you spent for this restoration in total?
What ever floats your boat
What did he use the circle thing for?
What was the point of restoring the metal pieces for them to them be covered by wood?
The knife looks like a real trash before restoration.
