Brie Dauphinoise Potatoes

    Brie Dauphinoise Potatoes
    Cream sauce - mix 1 1/2 cups (375 ml cream), 2 garlic cloves minced, 30g / 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
    1.25 kg / 2.5 lb starchy potatoes , Russet, Sebago, Maris Piper
    1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper
    2 tsp thyme leaves (optional - but highly recommended)
    3 x 125g/4oz brie (or camembert), 8cm / 3.2” diameter, cut in half horizontally (do this fridge cold)
    1. Spread 1/3 potatoes in dish. Top with 1/3 cream, salt, pepper and thyme. Repeat twice more, cover with foil, bake 1 hr 20 min at 180C/350F or until potatoes are soft (check with knife).
    2. Remove foil, place brie on top cut face down, 25 to 30 minutes until brie is melted and edges are golden. Stand 5 minutes before serving!

      So the Eskimos lived on Greenland.
      They ate very little veggies and mostly meat. Fatty meat. Blubbard.
      Their rate of cardiac or diabetes was below the chart. Their cholesterol levels were below the chart.
      Then, some moved to Denmark.
      .... And then shit happened. Cuz they started to eat western diet.

      this is healthy, potatoes are packed with nutrients surprisingly. even without skin they are a rich source of potassium and 6 other essential nutrients @@nancyoffenhiser4916 just add a salad for lunch to comensate for the sat fat. brie is one of the healthiest cheeses usually made from grassfed cows, i wouldnt melt it all the way meaning it will retain the omega 3s

    Bonjour, oui c’est comme ça qu’il faut faire, il faut pommes de terre de maxi 2 voir 3mm maximum ! Il faut croiser les rondelles de façon à ce que la crème glisse, entre dans les interstices des rondelles, pour dorer le plat 1/4 d’heure avant la fin , mettre des morceaux de beurre très petits sur la surface et après on a un gratin bien jaune et appétissant. On peut aussi glisser 3 ou 4 feuilles de laurier dedans, on peut et il faut : frotter le plat fond et côtés avec de l’ail.
    Une salade verte à l’huile de noix, un gratin dauphinois et un poulet rôtis avec du thym…. LE BONHEUR !!!

      Look up tartiflette, I usually make it with brie as I prefer it to Reblochon. I may be slightly biased as I make brie at home and often have one or two that are getting overripe.

    Love this and I love that the brie is cut so that means all the calories etc fall out and don't go into the dish 😜 The only thing this is missing is a dose of Dozer ❤

    My bad: gratin dauphinois does not have cheese... gratin savoyard is probably more appropriate for this excellent recipe.

    " dauphinoise" ? Gratin dauphinois is better. You may drop the " potatoe" As it is already included in the word " dauphinois"
