What kind of graphics settings are you using and what level did you set the AI on ? Seriously tough love you vids David please keep them comming !!!! After watching the whole vid you have great car control and have a very smooth pedal / steer movement wich is why i think you have a bright future in the racing world. Did you ever wanted to go open wheels or does your hearth lie with the GT cars ?
Thanks for the kind words DRL. Yes when I was younger I dreamt of Formula 1 like everyone else but it wasn’t to be 😂 also I don’t think I’d be quick enough at that level to be honest. I hope one day I can do a test in a Formula 3 or Formula 2 car... but I’d have to pay for that test to happen 🙈
Hi David. The format is great, I've been binge watching your vids for the past few days. Great stuff. A USB condenser microphone and a simple pop filter will give you much better results for about 50 or 60 quid. I'm happy to send you some suggestions and help out with the setup and audio processing.
I have to say, that the sound of you talking with the "not so good" mic actually gives it a nice touch, since it makes me feel like someone is talking on the radio. So while in the normal gaming videos a better mic would be better, you could make the real racing videos together with this sound could be a signature sound :-)
Fantastic footage and commentary David. I particularly liked your summing up of abs and traction control. I've had plenty of arguments with other sim racers who try to say that driving gt3 with abs and tc enabled is unrealistic!! 😃
Haha yes, I find that sim racers are the biggest driving snobs of all 😂 however few of us have even been to a track before, let alone spoken to someone about dampers and wing angles 🙈 Thanks for watching!

So great to see a South African and a gentleman in the top league. This footage and commentary was really amazing to watch. I had knots in my stomach at some of those passes seeing the km/h just jump up around the bends.
If possible, I feel like a live commentary would do very very well. Might also help keeping you relaxed whilst competing. Regardless, I love these commentary’s and your input. Gives a really good perspective feeling. Hope to see more of these videos in the future.

Can't get enough of these. If you think you are talking too much, you don't. A Hungarian driver, ex-leon euro cup champ, did the same, but in captions, and it was great fun to see the insights from the driver. Also, Mugello being one of your fav tracks, I guess it has something to do with the fact that you "learned" to race on it. I think the first track that makes you competitive, will remain as a sweet spot.
WHAT i think is brilliant David is your humility with reference to you get stuck in with us muggles on gt sport and actively do track guides and help the community but videos like this shows you the gulf between us guys sat with controllers and plastic wheels and the real deal great vid commentary means everything keep them coming
I started as a Gran Turismo driver before I became a GT driver mate. So I consider myself a sim-racer turned real-racer and from my perspective it's evidence how good a job Sim Racers could do in real life.

@@DavidPerel I really did! Seeing how popular simracing is getting, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to promote racing series through channels like yours. Hearing a real racing drivers perspective over a real life race makes me interested to see more of the series. E.g. I wouldn't have known that the Blancpain series starts this weekend and thanks to this video I'm very intrigued to see more like this (even if this video isn't about Blancpain). Maybe it would be possible to use your own onboard footage for the Blancpain series? As you said, there would be problems with the licensing but still, more advertising for such a cool series like Blancpain is needed and could be another way forward

David Perel I'm honestly surprised how few people record stuff like this. Not to say it doesnt exist but how infrequent and generally unavailable it is in this format. Just wanted to say that if you ever doubted a viewers interest in such a niche and awesome area, fear not! There are plenty of people, like myself, who love the idea of circuit racing but just dont have the means to do so. This is the next best thing! Good luck!

Where would one find a schedule of your upcoming races? Doesn't have to be super official, but the fact that you're sharing such insight into this world here and on your website and so on, I think you're the first athlete of ANY sort for which I'd consider myself a genuine fan. I'd probably buy tickets to a race if it was near me and I knew you'd be there. I'd let them know that you got them the ticket sale as well, haha. I could make it to any race on the West Coast of the US and as far East as Texas with enough heads up. I'm not trying to meet up or hang out or anything, just get tickets, watch the portion of the race you can see from the stands, drink a beer, whatever people do at the old sports ball events. Loving this style of commentary video.

You are right, but I think Mugello is the first round of their "European Championship" whereas Dubai forms part of their International Series.

Yea mate in IRL GT3’s all use ABS and TC. It’s part of the rules.
But in ELMS and Le Mans, where they use GTE spec cars, they don’t have ABS or TC.
