Fun fact: the line at 26:00-26:03 was improvised by Jim Carrey.

Also the scene when the Grinch was a kid in school and all the kids in his class including the teacher laughed at him (except for Martha May), something pretty similar happened to me. When I was in year 5, everyone in my class (including myself) were on detention one lunchtime. During the detention, there was a very little drop of blood on my finger and looked at it and talked very silently, then about 2 minutes later I looked up and everyone in my class was just staring at me and I said "What?" and then everyone including the teacher laughed at me (except for the girl sitting right next to me) 😥.

@@katec8796 thank you! He really is a legend. The entire movie is phenomenal I miss when movies used to care. The level of passion for detail really sealed the story.

@@YooooAshaTv absolutely. It's also what makes Jim so special - he commits 1000% into his roles. I miss the way movies looked - by mid 2000s everything lacked color and warmth and the styles always feel the same no matter the genre. Cinema was so amazing from the 1920s until 2000 something - at least we can still watch those lol. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!

@ you nailed it! As an actor I always appreciate when you can see the absolute commitment to a role. And films and film makers used to be passionate about the craft and hungry to innovate something new or different but in a cool way now they literally don’t care and use cgi and now ai to just do the heavy lifting instead of just filling in the small blanks.

@@YooooAshaTv Yuuuup. And every movie released in the theater feels the same formulaic blockbuster type film. You look at movies that were released in theaters up to 2000ish and they would never get released now smh. That and they only hire the same 12 people to play nearly every damn role lol. You're right about the cgi as well - the sweet spot was when they used minimal cgi and blended it with real life props - made things feel more genuine and organic. Now most films feel sorta empty/soulless. That's why I find myself watching older films - especially Old Hollywood - the writing is so much richer that it doesn't even feel like the same industry lol. Que Sera

@ you’re touching my heart! Yes that’s what made me fall in love with film in the first place I grew up watching the behind the scenes specials because of the intricacies of the production process and the practicality that that put into every project. The first Jurassic Park is still one of my all time favorites for that reason. It allows the actors to be able to fully immerse themselves in their roles and that makes it believable to the audience. I will say the only cgi I felt really worked was the dawn of the planet of the apes but it was the only one out of the entire 4 movie prequel reboot that was really good to me. Everything else like you said is lackluster and regurgitated. Plus everything is sooo dark now. What happened to the lighting department lol
