  • A Signal Peak 4x4 Trail Night Run adds a little more of a challenge to this 11.1 mile point-to-point trail located near Soda Springs, California that features a great forest setting. The trail is rated as difficult and primarily used for off road driving.Short, trip to 7,841-ft. mountain peak. This short trip sees minimal traffic. Great views once you get above the trees. Short walk to abandoned, historic lookout station once used to spot fires along railroad that can be seen below. Difficult. Narrow, steep road with tight brush and a very tippy rock challenge.Camera Gear

    Great night run video! We experimented with shooting at night a little while rescuing a vehicle that sliced two KO2s this past weekend. Great stuff!

      Thanks for watching. Yeah I think if I do any more night runs, then I’m gonna need a good light for my camera. Recording in the dark isn’t very easy. I will be on the lookout for your next video.

      We had one guy that didn't have functioning lockers. He just did a Hemi swap and the new computer doesn't work with the stock Rubicon lockers. He has to run some manual switches for them, but he still wanted to get out and stretch his Jeep's legs. Signal Peak is pretty fun, and running it at night made it a little more interesting.

      NotICON I know man I was jk because you said you only use the light bars at the mall, cool video man , cheers! Unfortunately for us as of now due to the fires, Stanislaus National Forest is closed and we had plans to go wheeling this weekend.

      Yeah I figured that was a good joke to squeeze in there. Hopefully after the fires are taken care of we can plan a trip out wheeling together. Im still hoping that Slick Rock will open back up by the end of the month. It might be a pipe dream, but you never know. It seems like the whole state is trying to burn itself down right now. I have a couple buddies that were down at Bald Mountain for the Cal4Wheel High Sierra Poker Run, that got cut short because of the Creek Fire.

    I thought you guys were nuts for trying to wheel that weekend. Looks like fun. It also looks like you were the only group in the mountains who DIDNT start a wildfire this weekend.

      I’m not suggesting that you do night wheeling on Fordyce. It’s just signal peak 🤣

    So to be a good rock crawler I need rock lights?

      Its a brand new build that he hasn't wheeled much, so he isn't very familiar with with it. We joked about him getting hung up there, so it had to go in the video. The Sami did great the rest of the trail though.

      O I believe it, I’ve seen that rock give so many people an issue. I was planning on going to Slick Rock on Oct 3rd, but I’m not sure if that’s going to happen now. All the forests are closed due to the fires.

      We have a slick rock trip at the end of the month if the fires ever die down. I know the trails in that are were closed on Tuesday because of the fire conditions. The Rubicon was even closed because there is a fire burning right by it. I will let you know if the Slick Rock trip happens.

    Is this the same road that goes to the tower? If it is I ran my stock Chevy 4x4 Duramax pulling a trailer up to the Cell towers on top for two weeks straight every night and then back down to Cisco grove every morning…..

    • @NotICON
      @NotICON  3 роки тому

      This is going up from the Eagle Lake side. Cisco Grove would be the back side. Both sides lead up to the tower though. One side is just a little more challenging

    Is this something that requires lockers ?

    • @NotICON
      @NotICON  3 роки тому

      Lockers aren’t required for this trail, and it’s honestly one of my favorite trails to bring beginners on. You will actually be surprised what you can do without lockers.

    Great video. Curious though, it seems you guys never air down. Why’s that?

    • @NotICON
      @NotICON  3 роки тому

      Thank you, so you aren't the first person to say that. We all air down, I personally go down to 12psi-15psi on the rocks. My front tires don't look like I air down at all, but the back tires do. The rest of the people in this video aired down as well. My only guess is that it has to do with the tires load rating.
