FYI when you first spawn in, use first person in the cockpit to view the map with an overlay of your ship showing exacty where you are. There are 2 hotkeys on the toolbar, #6 will zoom it in and out, and #7 will toggle it on/off. By default #4 on hotbar will flip and stop (retroburn) and #5 will flip (retrograde) the ship to help you stop. Highly recommend adding "Abort" as well to cancel it and give you back full control.
Speaking from experience as a player on this server. I was a new player about 2-3 months ago, and it was a struggle. I had made some comments about how it was difficult as a new player, and rather than just being ignored or put to the wayside, Staff actually listened, and people reached out to help me, and now they have gone above and beyond to REALLY ensure that new players feel more welcome, and have the resources they need to get started and succeed. For the people out there who are overwhelmed, or unsure of playing in a place like this, I can assure you that this IS the best place to be in Space Engineers multiplayer. You will struggle sometimes, it will be hard sometimes, but staff cares... A LOT, and people will help you. ITS WORTH IT!
Did you join the right server? It should be called “Medina station” that’s the lobby. There are several test servers that people have spun up. The direct connect IP is on our discord.

After watching a few of your combat videos, where a single torp can distract all the PDCs for a few seconds. I reckon you guys could have a warship fire a trickle stream of torps, one at a time, to distract PDC in melee combat and the advantage would be pretty substantial. The enemy could toggle the PDCs to not target torps, if he notices you doing it, but it's trick to do in the heat of battle, and if you notice some of his PD not being distracted by torps, you can alpha all the remaining torps, they'll hit him before he can toggle back.
Yup! there are a ton of different strategies during fleet maneuvers, but also a ton of different ways to counter those strategies like layering PDC coverage. I will die on the hill of "Our server takes the most pilot skill out of all the SE community servers" Biggest gunbrick does not = win on our server and thats really rare in the SE community.
@@alphamatte4259 well space engineer flying never took any skill and this isnt any diffrent, same with combat, auto locking and pressing a button isn't exactly a hard thing to do, so everytime you say things like "we are the most skillful" just think and remember this: "if you think you're good at something, you're gonna tell everybody, but if you're GREAT, everyone will keep saying it without you opening your mouth". Seen some of those Draconis server PvP videos.. for now it is just, "its our server so its the best", show something skillful and you will see it right back in the comments.
@@michacieloszyk6971it does require skill. Having only strong thrust forwards makes combat and ship control hard. Plus fleet battles where strategising when and where to fire torps is pretty important to maximise the pressure on enemy PDC networks.
Are you sure you want to set an example of leaving your rockhopper at the docking port after you got the new ship? Station docking master is gonna have a fit if the docks stay occupied.
Honestly I understand the rules however I avoid servers for that reason, I don't want to read a book on what someone else thinks I should do in the server I just wanna build and have fun
The base game never really grabbed me, but your server convinced me to get the game. Is your server friendly for people who are new to the game as a whole, or should i hold off until I'm better acquainted?
We probably have the deepest most complicated server in the SE community - which is one reason why we are so popular. We have had plenty of people learn SE on our server, but it will be hard, if you are okay with that then sure. If not, I highly recommend Splitsies tutorials
Is there a single player world with all this? Would be good for testing designs before building in the server and I'd be interested in trying to design one with these mods when I get time.
@@TechJoe1994 You need to add them from the shift+f10 menu. its just a build world. Because we use a third party server meshing software to run our server we can't just "export" the game world to a singleplayer world.

love watching those vids, even if I'm mostly here for some expanded Expanse feeling

Can you sell ships?
Unfortunately we dont have a ship marketplace yet - but we are looking into one. Right now only the NPCs sell ships to players.

8:50 your connectors do not actually need to be in trade mode, since the station connectors alreasy are in trade mode
Im pretty sure both connectors need to be in trade mode.

Bad for server sim and performance
Vectored thrust is very resource intensive to calculate. Probably why they just used gyros instead of making you use real RCS thrusters.
